This half a week has passed in a wink of an eye. Well, probably not, considering the number of *interesting* things that happened.

Monday wasn't that special...

Yesterday was hilarious. Our school runs an inaugural arts festival which celebrates music, dance, art etc. There's an event called house choirs where everyone in the house has to sing, although it often just becomes an elitist group that does everything anyway.

The house officials just ran a Nazi regime, if I were to be polite. Although the analogy isn't quite right because at least the Nazi regime was quite successful. Well anyway, they made us line up by height, arrange us into lines so that we wouldn't be standing next to our friends, pushed us into a gas chamber , and got people (I would like to think the SA rather than the SS: at least the SS were capable, according to Nazi standards) to patrol around to make sure we were singing. Did I give a bat's shit about that? You bet I didn't.

Why the sudden rebellion? Well, it's not very nice when people of equal/inferior (and I must admit I'm trying not to be elitist) status lord over you. Those people patrolling kept coming up to me and asking/forcing me to sing because they knew that I have an eensy weensy bit of musical ability in me. No luck at all.

Then, the people running the thing demonstrated the songs. They obviously didn't think that it wasn't only them who didn't have perfect pitch, but nearly everyone else in the hall too. So they had a starting note, while they expected everyone else to be able to sing. Not a probelm for me, but I'm afraid the whole house started on ALL DIFFERENT NOTES. And all ended up a semitone lower. My lungs and diaphragm were threatening to explode over the poor kids in front of me from just suppressing my sniggers.

There's house choirs practice tomorrow. It's a bit too late to get my guts steel-lined, so I tried persuading Gaby to let me come chat with her during the practise. Didn't work. She thinks I should just sing, or fake it. I think that I should just stand there and laugh at other people. She laughed at my thinking.

Anyway, I called her because I auditioned for the school's concerto concert in September. It's just a concert where people play concertos, as the name clearly suggests. And well, she wanted to know how I went. Didn't really get to play beyond half a page of all my pieces, which were the Chopin nocturne and Bach prelude and fugue. The guy thought I was good though. Not going to be too hopeful, nevertheless.

Why did I even audition? I really have no idea. I guess it's because I want to take music lessons, and very partially because I wanted to play at the concert. Most of the people in it are asshole-y people who walk around with sticks rammed up their rearends and scorn on the rest of the 'non-musical' people, so I must admit that I don't enjoy their company very much. But heck. It gives me music lessons, so... Didn't mind trying out.

So I turned up 10 minutes late to lit today because I chatted with Gaby 10 minutes into lit, and went to lit and told my lit teacher I had a music lesson. HAHAHAHA. He didn't care, really... And they hadn't done much anyway. Only read like 1 page of the play. Urgh. I could just not go to lit and I wouldn't miss anything anyway. Considering how I took the time to read the play twice during the holidays (most people did too), I don't see why he wants to go through it. Probably doesn't have anything better to do I guess.

And I'm blogging today because I didn't have much homework and I've finished it all! So I thought I might take a break. Wahahaha.

Tomorrow is a sucky day. Double chem, then double lit in the morning. *huge sigh*

And I just realised the last time I blogged was when school had just started. Strange how quickly the year's passing. Hmm...

School started yesterday with a 'bang'... Which caused me a huge headache throughout the whole day. Didn't get adjusted to the whole waking up early thing. My body clock dropped off the surface of the earth and shattered into pieces (somehow) and is floating around... somewhere. I hope.

I'm in a surprisingly good mood at the moment, despite it being nearly 10 and my homework still UNDONE. I really, really should finish it before being on the comp but heck... See, I'm procrastinating right from day 1 of school.

Today wasn't as bad as I'd imagined it to be... That being said, I imagined evil maths and science teachers with devils' horns and forked tails leering over me and gloating over the fact that I was going to die at their hands, and at the nonexistent hands of the textbooks (which I must admit that even if I don't die, I'll definitely get chronic backaches by the end of the yr.... They're too heavy).

Applicable maths, nonetheless was absolutely boring. I mean yes, my applic teacher is good and everything, but the syllabus can easily lull anyone into a 2 period sleep. Which was what happened. Considering that we did some of this in PRIMARY SCHOOL (eg: DOT DIAGRAMS, stem and leaf diagrams, mean, mode, median), I didn't feel too bad about nodding off to dreamland.

Rest of the day wasn't that eventful but nevertheless was more interesting... Except for religion. We're doing CORPORATE ETHICS. Well, easy. There're none at all. Didn't satisfy the teacher, who launched into an animate monologue about some huge company's unethical actions about 40 years ago.

Dinner was eventful, for once. Gaby called my home, and my dad picked up. I was like 'oh, crap...' Not that she called, but rather my dad answered. He started asking the awkward questions about how were the hols in his booming, self-believed 'friendly' voice.

She asked if I was doing piano this year, and I told her my parents weren't letting me, though I only said that it was because they think I wouldn't have the time. Didn't tell her it was because my parents think it's too costly. Well, she's got enough students on her hands. She's got 26 altogether, despite chucking the primary school students because they drove her nuts. I did wonder how she could even tolerate last year with them...

But she said I could go visit her! Maybe I'll skip sport lessons on fridays and go talk to her instead. Doubt my sport teacher would mind a lot. After all, I could put a lifesize wax figure of myself there and no one would notice, except that it might melt in the heat.

Oh yes, the evil dwarf is no longer teaching us history! I've got my form tutor instead... She's a much better teacher, though it is a bit awkward having her as my teacher. I'm the only person in my form doing hist. After all, only 14 people do hist. Better than calculus, where only 12 do it. Haha, pathetic eh?

Physics has shrunk too... My class HALVED. Chem's about the same, lit's split into 2 classes and applic maths is still huge.

Speaking of lit, I don't have the old hag too. Except that I don't think she's an old hag anymore. Despite all I said, I actually appreciated her teaching because it gave me an A for lit and her notes were excellent. Now, I have a really horrible one who's utterly disorganized and (according to hearsay) spends most of the lessons talking about his family. I'm doomed for lit.

Sigh... I wish I could take piano.

On a lighter/heavier note, I should go finish my homework.
