Before I put some pics of Maisy up (it was her birthday yesterday, btw), I found a few 'why did the chicken cross the road' jokes. :)

DR. SEUSS:
Did the chicken cross the road?
Did he cross it with a toad?
Yes, The chicken crossed the road,
But why it crossed, I've not been told!

MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.: I envision a world where all chickens will be free to cross roads without having their motives called into question.

BILL GATES: I have just released MS eChicken 2003, which will not only cross roads, but will lay eggs, file your important documents, and balance your checkbook - and Internet Explorer is an inextricable part of MS eChicken 2003.

ALBERT EINSTEIN: Did the chicken really cross the road or did the road cross the chicken? Every thing is relative... (I edited this one slightly)

I love the Dr Seuss and Bill Gates one. Our physics teacher told us about the Einstein one, so yeah... HAHAHAHAHA. Seuss always cracks me up.

Anyway, we travel back about 6 months in time to the first month Maisy came to us...

What is this strange silver box? Is it a mysterious box of treats?

It just made a weird clicking noise! I shall attempt to glare it down...

Fast forward about 5 months

As Irene said, anyone'd want to kidnap Maisy after looking at the picture and going 'AWWW'.

Looking at something in intense concentration...

I thought I saw a putty tat... (in case you didn't recognise the reference, it's tweety bird)

Maybe I should join the circus...

On the other hand... The treats are good enough.

There! You guys have asked like a million times, and I'm sorry I didn't have time before. Hope you enjoyed it!

Oh btw, she does look a bit diff now... She just had a haircut last Wed :(. I think the lady poked her leg or something, so she was in pain for a bit last week :(.

Blogging spree? Nah.

I've decided to reawaken this sleeping dragon of a blog. There're things in life that are worth 10 mins of a test-eve-night to record and eternalise in the form of words.

Words and memories: a lethal mix. Brought up into the clouds but look down at the earth and see that it is impossible to leave the mortal world. Memento mori. However, stones may age and rain may wash the earth away and still words and memories will stay.

This is so weird.

Anyway, I apparently have a photo on Fri by the school regarding afore mentioned maths competition (which was a FLUKE). Should I just not go to school? Sounds very tempting, given how it won't be long before I cough my lungs out.

Oh, and my lit teacher got pissed off with me for eating in class. Let's clarify that a little. I had a piano lesson during lunch (which was highly enjoyable and a nice break from class), followed by 10 mins of hist and lit. I was eating my lunch on the way from my locker to lit, and was left with a little mouthful which I was finishing in class. The teacher was just giving out BOOKLETS. She WASN'T teaching. If she were teaching, I believe that I would have had enough manners to have stopped. But no, she delivered her message with perfect, dripping sarcasm, quizzing me whether it was lunch (her exact words were 'is it lunch?' Rather succinct and precise, wouldn't you agree? I'd give her 10/10 for her choice of words, but style? -100 if it's possible). I thought she'd asked me if it was MY lunch (considering the holy racket the class was making since she hadn't started: mind you, it didn't stop even when she did), and so I said yes. Oops. She was pretty annoyed. Felt like apologising, but she probably thought I was retarded or something for not getting her question and walked off.

Got my hist test back, while we're on the topic of school. I was incredibly shocked by my result because when I first looked at it, I thought it was 28.5/40, which is WAY below what I usually get. However, on closer inspection, it was out of 35, so that was actually pretty gd :). My essay itself was given a mark of 21.5/25 (woots... One of the highest ever), but my notes and biblio were pretty bad. Not complaining, really. 81%'s gd enough for me, considering how I got there 15 mins late as I was scurrying around the school trying to find printers which had ink/no paper jams (and speaking about this, I barged into said lit teacher's class. Doubt she noticed, which was gd).

Let's move away from school. Was having a chat with Irene on MSN, and realised (like a week ago) with intense jealousy that she's back in Singapore. Humph. And she's got a 6 month break- WITHOUT SCHOOL. How unfair is that?! Argh.

I guess you guys probably find it strange that I miss the little island, considering how much I seemingly hated the restrictions and barriers that were enforced on us. True, I still hate those, but there are many positive sides in sg too (to the amazement of some of you guys). You would think the food is HEAVENLY if you've been eating 2-minute noodles (thank God SINGAPORE BRAND MAGGI NOODLES) nearly every day you're home for lunch (which, isn't that often). The convenience of every thing too, from the rude taxi 'uncles' to your char kway teow.

And yes, even the education is highly enticing. You wouldn't believe it (you probably do, anyway), but I miss NY. Probably not much writing zuo wens or describing pictures in Chinese, but the environment and friends (awww.... *shut up*). THis place suits me like a bright pink highlighter.

The good ol' times... Really, no point reminiscing at the moment since it'll just make me even more depressed.

Even worst news than that? It's rather sure that I won't be going back to Sg this yr. No money, no accomodation. Money is the root of evil, and of all problems. Guess it'll have to be next yr :(.

Why do my random musings always take a turn for depressive subjects?!

Oh, also,

A VERY, VERY HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO SARS! HAPPY SWEET SIXTEENTH!

Sorry, I thought it was the 26th of Aug for a strange reason... So huge apologies for that!

P.S: It is often said that one receives his/her first kiss on his/her 16th birthday... *snickers, and nudges sars to divulge more* I shall run before sars attempts murder! :P

Wow. What a long hiatus. It's a miracle the tagboard's still alive.

I AM SICK. AND ON A HOL OF ALL THE 365 DAYS OF THE YEAR. Arrgh. Just can't believe my 'luck'.

I lost half my voice on Wed night, it recovered a little yesterday, but disappeared completely this morning. It gives me an excuse for not practicing aurals for piano though. Rethinking that however, aurals are much more desirable.

Thurs was hellish. If there hadn't been 2 tests and some meeting with this ex-maths-teacher (who smelt like apple pie) about my maths talent quest/project thing that won the State comp and is going for the nat comp, I wouldn't have gone to school. I wish I hadn't. My tests weren't very well done (in my humble opinion) as the whole time, it felt like someone was trying to shove a stick down my throat. But it was nice, because for once, I was the chronic test-cougher. *snickers*

What's a chronic test-cougher? Sadly, you won't find it in your Oxford or Macquarie or God-knows-what dictionary, but according to my dictionary (no prizes for guessing the author), it's the person who coughs regularly and distracts the h*ll out of everyone and uncontrollably and causes distraction to others. For once, I was on the giving end, not the receiving :).

Oh oh, I found a white/grey hair :(. The whole thing's totally white/grey/brownish. Argh. Guess I should relieve the amount of stress I put on myself, but I CAN'T. I have that talent quest thing to do, a physics oral to prepare for, a physics test, and a whole long list of other things to do. *tears hair out in clumps* One saving grace is that I did well in my chem test, despite missing quite a number of key lessons for piano. I got 40/42, which is 96%. :D Was shocked, but delighted.

Argh. Found another really light-brownish hair. They really stand out because my hair is so black :(. I don't think I should pull them out. According to some ancient long, white-bearded man, pulling them out makes them grow even quicker. It's almost claiming that your scalp knows that vanity, thy name is woman. *snorts derisively, but still doesn't dare to pull hairs out*

Oh well. I grow old... I grow old... I shall wear the bottoms of my trousers rolled. (Love song of J. Alfred Prufrock, by T.S Eliot)

I wonder what will happen when we all grow old. Will we take a look at each other on the street and burst out laughing, cracking our fragile spines by doing so? Will we attempt to count our wrinkles and realised that they, like the stars, are uncountable? Or shall we attempt to hide it under a facade of foundation and eye liner and hair dye...

Or will we be able to preserve ourselves with injections of cellulite? Pay a visit to the botox-administer every week? Just how many of us would succumb to the vanity of humankind?

I for one, hope I won't be amidst those people, seeing as I do not even know how to put a stick of makeup on my face.

Darwin, Darwin, Darwin. I wonder if he foresaw us doing such things. I'm guessing he classified it under evolution.

Oh, the wonders of the world.

And the wonder of thinking with a clear head, which has unfortunately deserted me, thus resulting in this eccentric post. It is indeed not a good time to post when you have a chronic headache, cough and cold. In short, never ever be a chronic 'ger'. *winks*

P.S: All the best to all exam-sitters! I hope you'll never encounter a chronic exam-cougher like me. :) And I would really start to worry if any of you saw this because that would mean that you have deserted your current 'mission' to entertain a silly post as this.
