46 more minutes, 2760 seconds till the New Year...

To be honest, I don't feel good about 2006: There's this sense of foreboding in the year. It's this kind of thing people sometimes rely on, and so do I... Gut feeling is important at times.

Went to the arcade today, and blew almost all of my money... Ah well.

Shall go do the rest of the promised profiles, and await for the clock to strike 12 to let me use some of the 900 free smses I have in Jan.

Promised ones from yesterday:

Name: Mdm Chen Li Li
Aka: Chen Lili lao shi, Chen Lili
Quotes: yao4 bi3 jiao4 wen2 ya3, qing2 sheng4 duan1 pu3 etc.
Status: Dance/mass dance teacher, Chinese Dance teacher IC
Comments: If there is a school rule for respecting your elders, we would have been expelled. Mdm Chen is one of the more elderly teachers in the school, but we all call her by her name: Chen Lili. Made in China, she speaks Mandarin all the time, resulting in misunderstandings between her and some of us. It is most obvious when she's conducting mass dance lessons in the hall, for the tuneless, eardrum-bursting music that she often (or always) chooses to go with the dance routines contaminates the whole school, especially the signature tune to go with the Nanzongquan (totally tuneless and alike those in the olden days martial arts movies). This year, she added in another tuneless, eardrum-bursting music that's been etched into everyone's minds: It feeeeelsss soooo good. It has been rumoured that she does not even understand what the song means, but merely liked the tune (tells a lot, doesn't it?). On the surface, she seems the kindly, benign old lady, but 20 000 leagues under the sea... She becomes a mutated purple dinosaur: Seemingly big and friendly, but you won't know when she'll creep behind you and mangle your organs up. Another one to be kept happy.

Name: Mrs Teo Yong Hong
Aka: Mrs Teo
Quotes: -
Status: Art teacher, Head of ecstatics -oops- aesthetics Department.
Comments: Initially thought her to be alike a pontianak: Suddenly appears in the dead silence to give everyone a cardiac arrest, then slurp our blood up. A long lost friend of Mrs Ng: They'd met at NIE about 10 years ago... Yet another disadvantage to us, having both of them for Project Work last year. Mrs Teo is yet another eccentric person, beating even that guy who sits in the White House and Mrs Ng (the latter's more of an achievement to beat than the former). A teddy bear cum tyrannosaurus rex (draw your own conclusions) reincarnated as our Art Teacher, she goes around the school hugging people, and pinching our auditory facilities whenever she deems fit (which is -surprise, surprise-, really often), not to mention her smacks to show how much she loves us -cued vomit noises- (da3 shi4 teng2, ma4 shi4 ai4). Another teacher who should go around with 'Do not disturb' signs around her neck, no student is safe from her sudden attacks from up high, so CONSTANT VIGILANCE!

Name: Mdm Cao Jing Hua
Aka: Cao Lao Shi, Cao (2) cao(1), cao (4?) ah ma etc.
Quotes: AN JING!
Status: CME teacher, Chinese teacher, String Ensemble teacher IC
Comments: If Hitler needed a scapegoat to 'unite' the school, this woman would perfectly fit the job. With her endless droning, no student can escape the wrath of our CME teacher, be it only for but half an hour. Unlike other CME teachers who talk to the wall, Cao Lao Shi attempts to poke her way through our thick skulls, but alas, it failed miserably on her part. Forcing portfolio after portfolio entry down our already sore throats, she mercilessly insists on us looking up the web and honing our photocopying skills, then practicing our sprinting skills by running to the Humans dept and chucking them into her pigeon hole often nearly a term late. One of the more irritating teachers who bug us for our useless pieces of shit, we would soon need pestbusters for humungous PESTS like her.

Name: Mr Damien Yam
Aka: Damien Yam, Da (4) mian(2) yang(2)
Quotes: 'Ok, girls...'
Status: ITE teacher
Comments: One of the more 'IT' literate teachers (ADUH), he would make any of the above teachers go green with jealousy with his Macromedia Flash, Dreamweaver, HTML and God-knows-what skills. Unfortunately, there are not many quotes on him for we do nothing in ITE except surfing the web (yes, $120 a year for surfing the web), and him sitting behind his computer doing God-knows-what (OOOHHMMMMM....) [A/n: draw your own conclusions. I don't wish to be sued for defamation] on his part. One who could switch jobs to being a nanny without a hitch.

Name: Mr Derek Tan
Aka: Derek Tan, DT
Quotes: 'Don't chicken-bow later...', 'Pull up your socks!', 'Where is your nametag?', 'Why is your skirt so short?'
Status: Science teacher, HOL.
Comments: One who has lost his marbles (old joke from last year), you can tell from the quotes what he is: Head of level. Shooting needles of fear into everyone's heart when he does the daily spotcheck (and when he announces that we're having a bout of OBE: obscene bra eradication), you never know when he'll haul you out of line and tell you that your skirt is a millimeter too short, or your socks have become invisible (in the past). Since he goes around checking blogs, I should be slightly better to him, but *points up* scroll up and look at the disclaimer before opening your mouth to lecture me on some rubbish about being a respected member of society. Rather nice guy (in all honesty) who doesn't give you any trouble if you don't give him any (unfortunately, this isn't always the case...). Nearly died of asthma when he came to check on our class' progress during the annual Spring Cleaning (esp that dirty little corner at the other end of the classroom no one bothers to clean... Shh!). The better of all the HOLs, we ought to be rather grateful that we got him instead of someone like *coughMEIHONGcough*.

Ah well... I'm wondering if I should do a profile for these people too.

1: Mrs Heng Keng Luan
2: Mrs Shirlene Tieh
3: Ms Lydia Teo
4: Ms Nicole Ong (she seems too nice though...)
5: Mr James Tan
6: Mr Gary Tang
7: Mao Liang Liang Lao Shi

Now for a list of books I want.

1: Becoming a man, Paul Monette ($20.48)
2: The Dilbert Principle, Scott Adams ($13)
3: The Sea, John Banville (arnd $15)
4: blink, Malcolm Gladwell ($23.10)
5: A Hundred Year of Solitude, Gabriel Garcia Marquez ($23.10)
6: Three weeks with my brother, Nicholas and Micah Sparks ($16.75)
7: The Notebook, Nicholas Sparks ($16.75)
8: Half a Life, V.S Naipaul ($14.50)
9: 1984, George Orwell (keep forgetting to get this) ($15)
10: One flew over the cuckoo's nest (keep forgetting too) ($17+)
11: (this book that Sars got from Borders with me), Flannery O'connor ($17+)
12: Tao of Pooh, Benjamin Hoff (too expensive) ($25+)
13. Fahrenheit 451, Ray Bradbury (keep forgetting too) ($16+)

Movies:

1: Big Fish, Tim Burton
2: LOTR (all 3 movies), Peter Jackson
-Fellowship of the Ring
-Two Towers
-Return of the King
3: Saving Private Ryan, Steven Spielberg
4: Matrix (all 3), Wachowski Brothers (maybe...)
-The Matrix
-Matrix Reloaded
-Matrix Revolution

I'm going to be broke at this rate... Books would cost about $240... Movies? Probably around $100. Where am I going to get so much money?!

Damn... Still going out tomorrow. I'll probably cut some books out. I need money!!!

I finally bought 'Contact'! Even though it has Chinese subtitles... How sad.

Struck gold last night by finding this:

Name:Mrs Ng Mui Eng
Aka:Mui Eng Ng
Quotes:Yes children?Selfish bastard.Bloody .Fucked up lives.Yes....? list goes on)
Subject:English/Literature
Additional Information:Judo Teacher IC
Profiles:Mrs Ng is among the world's most eccentric people, ranking up there with Kenneth Starr and Saddam Hussein.Hailing from the blessed gates of Raffles Girls' School(oooooohhhhmmmmmmm),studied in London, married to a graphic artist, enthusiastic judo kas in RJ(more ohms),the rebel without a clue. Now in her early 30s(although we all agree she looks much younger),Mrs Ng is like a tiger high on drugs.Keep her happy or once she comes out of her stupor she could lacerate your kidneys.Otherwise lessons with Mrs Ng never fail to entertain, bringing up stimulating discussions and so on and so forth.

I bloody hell assure you it wasn't by me, but by some RI GEP kid in 1999. So don't come after my blood.

The following would be by me though... I don't think they're fantastic. I don't really write such stuff... More satirical than 'descriptive'.

Profiles of mental patients of N**H

Disclaimer: Any resemblence to characters whether living or dead is purely coincidental, so do not come after my blood if one of the following people is similar to your teacher, mother, auntie, dead uncle, dead rat... For any complaints, please call 1900-GET-LOST.

Name: Mrs Ng Mui Eng
Aka: Ng, ngtub, 'Auntie' Mui Eng etc
Quotes: Bloody, AH-SOHS!, stop clucking away, qing (2) sheng (4) duan (1) pu(3), yes...? etc...
Status: Teaches English/Literature/Language arts, Form Teacher. English Society In-charge.
Comments: Especially famous for her high heels of at least 10 inches in height, the eccentricity of her dress code easily tops the charts, even beating the ever famous Ozzy Osbourne and his equally obnoxious daughter (no offence to anyone). She is especially noticeable with her short ah-soh hair, humungous Smeagol (LOTR) like eyes, William Hung teeth, and rubbish bag like clothes. Hailing from the high heavens of RI, she continually misunderstands what she thinks are aliens, but are ordinary, innocent girls like yours truly. Often not found in the staffroom, we finally have solved the mystery of what she does during those times: Lacerating kidneys and taking drugs. One of those who ought to go around with signs of 'Danger- Stay away' around her neck, she unfortunately only puts on perculiar bohemian-looking (yet remotely resembling those from Bollywood) necklaces to suit her leopard/flowery-print semi-transparent/low v-cut blouses. When angered, behaves like a form of Piglet on drugs: Squeals a megatone louder and higher-pitched. Otherwise, lessons with Mrs Ng would be highly entertaining for both us and her: Interesting insights, discussions, her attempting to hitch her skirt up and throw herself out of the window, as well as to tear her hair out. Thus, as Santa says, bad girls never get great lessons, so BEHAVE!

Author's note: Alas, our dear Mrs Ng is leaving for MGS... We wish the students there all the best, and would like to seize the opportunity to say that no other teacher can replace (the highly obnoxious) Mrs Ng (aww...).

Name: Ms Tay Soo Eng
Aka: Zheng Lao Shi
Quotes: Gan ma?
Status: Teaches Higher Chinese, Chinese Society Teacher-in-Charge
Comments: One who hails from Malaysia, she deserves a hand (aka slap) for always being punctual for lessons. Bespectacled, prosperous woman with rebonded hair whose sweat pores seem to work really hard each time she comes to our class. Somewhat sarcastic and funny, she is yet another source of entertainment to tune in to. Zheng Lao Shi, here's one for you!

Name: Ms Agnes Lee
Aka: Ms Lee
Quotes: (Um... Honestly, I don't pay attention to her...)
Status: Mathematics teacher, Chinese Orchestra Teacher-in-charge.
Comments: Caricatured by me to be a mouse... Passive, ex-NY girl who never speaks up even if we throw stuffed toy dogs right in her face. Never bothers even if we do not hand in our assignments till she's about to enter our marks into the database. One of the rare teachers who ought to get a Nobel Peace Prize for her tolerance and patience, though she loses control of the class as such. When teaching linear graphs, she reminded her students of the seagulls from 'Finding Nemo' with her constant 'y, y, y...' (y-axis). Petite woman who's rather vertically challenged, especially when beside Zeena Tan/Faustina Lim. Often bullied by students, but is a really nice lady, though the afore mentioned reason probably made her resign after joining the school for but a year.

Name: Ms Lye Ai Fern
Aka: MS LYE!
Quotes: 'Oi... Look here leh', 'you all still don't get it ah...'
Status: Chemistry/Biology teacher.
Comments: Everyone knows where she's conducting her lessons, for her booming voice even reaches the first floor when she's on the top floor (no exaggeration employed). Every class she enters starts with an enthusiastic chorus of 'GOOD MORNING/AFTERNOON MS LYE', but rather quickly, the enthusiasm is lost through the lesson on DNA, cells, atoms and God-knows-what. Probably the most computer-literate amongst all our teachers (at least she knows how to operate her laptop/Microsoft PPT), she entertains us with her findings of graphics on the chosen topic. One of the more 'interesting' Science teachers in the school, it has been a joy to have her as a teacher, though we cannot say the same for her having students like me. Doesn't care about assignments till marks are about to be entered into database too, and it is only for us that she extends the datelines. Thus, we all get reasonably excellent grades for our tests/exams. She was also the one who found the remotest bits of interest left in us for Science (after our first Science teacher. See 'Wong Tan Poh Yee' for more details). Really enthusiastic, patient and caring teacher who ought to be awarded the Emmy Award for 'Best Science Teacher'. Go Ms Lye!

Name: Mrs Vivien Chan
Aka: Vivien Chan
Quotes: GEOG REP!
Status: Geography teacher, student councillors teacher-in-charge.
Comments: Being her subject representative has been one of the most challenging things that I've had to deal with in my whole entire life, and I would like to thank my classmates, teachers, family and pet cactus for allowing me this honour of being able to be the Geography rep of the class for half a year... *sniffle sniffle, sob sob* It's relatively amazing how she actually knows how to operate her laptop, but the fact that it keeps crashing on her probably disproves that fact. One of the most 'unpopular' new teachers in our class, Mrs Chan never fails to entertain us in our dreams/nightmares on settlement patterns, population and... *snores*

Name: Ms Koh Suan Chu
Aka: MS KOH!
Quotes: CCGGLLL, ching chong chang school, you may hate me now, your standards are here but mine are here, so I may give you low marks for your tests, but it's all for your own good...
Status: History teacher, ex-teacher of Mrs Ng, school counsellor.
Comments: If any teacher should get an Academy Award for 'Best teacher', it would be Ms Koh. Her lessons never fail to interest us: From stories of the Japanese, to the Brunei King's encounter during his shopping trip. One of the kindest teachers we've ever met, she is unfortunately not as kind when it comes to tests and exams, though we all know that it is for our own good that she raises the standards. The ex-teacher of Mrs Ng, it is no surprise that Ms Koh goes ballistic at times: She has seen too much in life for her own good. At other times, she is the approachable and friendly teacher who is always there to lend a listening ear to. Ms Koh is such a nice lady, even the author of this does not wish to pass 'vile' and sarcastic remarks of her, for Ms Koh is probably one of the best combinations for a teacher that anyone could wish for: Excellent teacher with interesting lessons, caring, kind and patient. Ms Koh, here's one for you!

Name: Mrs Wong-Tan Poh Yee
Aka: Tan Poh Yee, Claire's *darling*
Quotes: 'The water "SOOT" out of the test tube...' 'Put "star, star, star" next to that...'
Status: Physics teacher, bowling teacher-in-charge.
Comments: One of the most memorable teachers for her quote(s), she made the mistake of saying 'soot' instead of 'shoots' in front of our insane class. Initially, we all did not like her, but gradually, we grew to detest her even more. Often mistaking us for her Sec 2 students last year, she would tell us to go to the Science Lab when we were doing Biology. In a perpetual bad mood, keep the crouching tiger/hidden dragon in her asleep or she will force hydrochloric acid down your throat if you awake her from her stupor. Alternatively, she could roll you up into a ball, and bowl you into the ecopond situated conveniently outside the Science labs...

Name: Ms Chang Tsai
Aka: Pang Tsai, Chang Tsai (pronounced as chang [2] tsai [4]), chang tsai (her name).
Quotes: Don't say shit, my standard is here, you are here, you are not matching up to my standard... (add funny hand movements).
Status: PE teacher, Netball Teacher IC.
comments: The most noticeable among the staffroom of pretty, young PE teachers (ooh...), Ms Chang helms the line of those slave drivers, making us run rounds and rounds and rounds and rounds (you get the vibe), after which eating as hungrily as we are into our recess times. During the times we did netball, she made us to an exercise called 'pitter patter', of which we turned into 'peanut butter'. Besides her cantankerous tirades on rather trivial matters like saying 'shit', she is otherwise a rather caring teacher who puts her students before her.

That's all for now. Requests could be put up, I suppose... These would be those I might be doing...

1: Mdm Chen
2: Cao Lao Shi
3: Mr Yam
4: Mr Derek Tan
5: Mrs Teo

Yeah... About that.

Thanks to all who've commented... As you can all see, I've changed the layout.

Went to Kino and Borders today... Was walking around looking for books, and when I strolled over to the counter to pay up for my books (was rather undecisive), I saw this figure clad in the NY PE tee... (Beautiful creature clad in white [Esmeralda from Hunchback of Notre Dame]... *sniggers*) As I approached, this person seemed so familiar, and I was thinking if I should say hi... It would have been totally mortifying if I'd said hello to a complete stranger.. Anyway, it turned out to by none other than Jiamin. Haha!

Bought 'Solitaire Mystery' by Jostein Gaardner and 'Brave New World' by Aldous Huxley. Was tempted to buy 'Brave New World revisited' by Aldous Huxley and 'The Tao of Pooh' by Benjamin Hoff, but they were too expensive for a poor churchmouse like me to purchase. The term 'churchmouse' reminds me of Ms Lee anyway... That was mean.

Walked to Borders after that, and looked around for a diary, but to no avail. Then went to the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf outside Borders (the other exit at the music dept) and bought a regular 'Mocha Ice Blend', went to the benches above that place, and sat there reading 'I'm the King of the Castle' by Susan Hill till about 5.30, then placed a call to a *certain person*.

Walked to the MRT, got pushed a number of times (pushed back too.), but fortunately didn't break my record of seeing 10 trains go by before managing to get on one. Waited at Raffles Plaza, sat on the ledge of the fountain outside that place till I got chased off by the security guard (oops... I didn't know that sitting was prohibited, and there was this family doing that too), then stood around for another half an hour waiting for my dad.

That's about my day. Oh, finally my mom's friend brought our post from Aus (thanks ollie!) over... I suppose it wasn't the best thing to receive, but it was really amusing to see that I'd gotten the highest level possible for almost all of my MSE tests (this test all year 9s [my grade over there] have to take). *sniggers*

Was watching 'Business today' on Channel News Asia over dinner just now, and it was once more rather 'amusing', especially on the part of the integrated resorts. Ah well. I'm weird...

Merry Christmas! (should have said this last night)

Anyway, thanks to all these people for their greetings/cards:

Mingyi
Bernice
Ollie
Jiamin
Faustina
Jiaying
Xinrong
Zeena
Ng
Bao
Qiuting
Claire
Xueying
Melesa

14 Merry Christmas greetings for a 14-year-old girl! Is that supposed to be coincidental? And about Ng: Don't think I'm trying to suck up to her or anything, but she wished me that first. Hmmph. Don't think sick now.

Last night, when *certain person* called, my headphones were again blasting with Vivaldi's Four Seasons. Seems like it's fated that people have to hear it. I was just going through my playlist of about 50 songs, and coincidentally, *certain person* had to call first.

Conversation is totally airtight-confidential, so do not try probing. I doubt even the pressure of outer space would be able to squeeze it out of me. I suppose I could just quote something from a song that would tell the 'conclusion' of what might happen in the near future: If I'm not back again this time tomorrow, Carry on, carry on, as if nothing really matters. (Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen)

Obviously the 'tomorrow' is (well, who knows though...) not literally Boxing Day, which is the day after today. But you get the gist of it.

Shall not be so morbid on Christmas... But well, like the Tantra message, 'Don't live a repressed life or you will not even live'. *snorts* Wrong application I suppose... I'm reading that book on Tantra I got from Borders now to seek 'inner peace', so will you excuse me...

1:08 PM

Here Jolene is, at the ungodly hour of 1.35AM, smelling of incense from the mass in church. The neighbourhood is ghostly quiet, except for the occassional noises from crickets and the clicking of the keyboard as my fingers dance back and forth.

Mass started off at the usual time: 11.30PM, but my parents, fueled by the Singaporean spirit, rushed us off to church at about 11PM. My phone call with *censored* was cut off due to mom's incessant banging on my door in a desperate attempt to make me hurry, like how she always phones the pizza hut delivery guy to hurry along with the pizzas (we never do that now).

The pageant was really disgusting: 5 animals and a baby. I never ever knew that animals could speak SINGLISH. Or even dialect for the matter. I was rolling my eyes and twirling my hair all the time.

Mass, as usual (for the Christmas vigil), took about an hour and a half, and thus, here I am, muling over the inane questions that my brain produces even at such an ungodly hour...

Mangers with light bulbs in them, Christmas trees, bags filled with presents large or small, tinsel and golden stars... Symbols of Christmas that are recognized worldwide. In the midst of all the hustle and bustle of doing last minute shopping at Orchard Road and getting frightened by singing dustbins (those umbrella-like things above them at Somerset MRT SING, but with my humurous flair, I'd thought that Singapore was so advanced, dustbins could sing), perhaps the true meaning of Christmas is embeded in yet another year's load of gift wrap and sky-rocketing electric bills.

Every year passes by, a flash after yet another, as time trickles out of our hands like sand through our fingers. Each year, tables groaning under the weight of stuffed turkey, log cakes, honey-baked ham and many other goodies herald Christmas, the season of giving (not to mention the truckload full of shopping and credit card bills). Indeed, buried among all these, ignored and forgotten, lies the true meaning of Christmas: Not giving credit card companies great business, but of care, love and sympathy.

I shall stop being such a killjoy, and have my bath, then go to bed.

Hey Bernice, you aren't the person I'm angry at, so don't worry... It's not my loss that you didn't go, but yours... I'm sure you had your own valid reasons though:).

Would you mind passing the money to Sars when school starts? And would Sars mind passing it to me? Thanks in advance.

My dad says that he's going to let me choose my Christmas present... Probably getting a few books.

My eye infection's back (a little), so I shouldn't be here... Goodbye.

Friday, December 23, 2005

I suppose the following post may have a tinge of anger in it.. But the fact is that I'm angry, and to be exact, disappointed, devastated and rather jealous.

Vivaldi's complete 'Four Seasons' is blasting at full volume from my Altec Lansing computer speakers at the moment, at the ungodly hour of 10.11PM when the rest of my neighbourhood is deep in slumberland. Do I care? NO, because anyway no one bothers about this irritating fly called me except when they need to pour their hearts out and weep to.

Sometimes, I don't feel like a friend/equal. I feel like a piece of toilet paper: To wipe your cr*p off, then mercilessly flush down the toilet without a second thought. Of course, the analogy is warped once more. Who on earth would ever have the sanity to care about toilet paper? (Not talking about Timmy)

Curious as to what evoked the lowly minion's anger? Wait no longer. I will just zip my mouth shut, since it may just be another of my cantankerous fits that is unworthy to be in anyone's sight. Maybe I was just hallucinating, or maybe that person suddenly became berserk, or maybe I'm just over-reacting, but I have the right to do the above things, and I'm sure that person does too. As a result, I'm shutting my big fat mouth.

Finally let that off my chest after about half a year of tolerating it. I assure you that it wasn't easy. That aside, I've finally posted out all the Christmas cards, but realised that I was short of 2 cards after I'd written them all, so I apologize to the rest of the people who wouldn't receive cards... As in, those previously on my list.

Each card is going out with:

A pkt of Yupi gummi worms
A 'cola bottle' (yupi)
2 Apple rings (yupi again)

I hope no one who gets the cards (see list on previous post) is either diabetic, allergic to sugar/gelatine, allergic to sweets or any confectionary. If you are, my apologies, but I'm not trying to give you a relapse. Give the sweets to your siblings/kid on the street/God-knows-who.

To appease my fury, I shall go watch Alegria now.

10:10 PM

Geisha's PG I should assume, according to Jiamin who told me that it was so on IMDb... I don't know about the credibility of it, but if it is, do you all want a class outing again?

If the answer to the above is yes, could someone organize it? My organization skills are *ahem*, and you all have witnessed it already. Incidentally, I'll still be in Singapore (answering Jiamin's tag) till the 4th of February, but of course, with CNY and packing, I doubt I'll be able to go out much on the week of CNY unless I borrowed some time from Mars or God-knows-where.

Thank you for all your encouragement... I know myself though... I've never been good at organizing (evidence: My room). Jiamin, get well soon... I suppose you haven't been resting well? Or maybe we should get your *momsy* to literally spoonfeed you...

Since I've decided to get more stamps, these people shall get cards sent out today too.

Eun
Bao
Qiuting
Lutheng
Sylvia
Laykuan
Mingyi
Jiamin
Pam
Xinrong
Ng

I suppose that's all.

My thoughts on Narnia:

Besides Zeena's incessant proddings on 'what's going on?', 'when's aslan coming?', and even when I asked her to shut up and watch the movie, she prodded me and went 'sorry?'. Oh God...

OK, Zeena aside, the movie itself was quite good... I didn't really feel much rising action: Of how Peter changed to become a warrior (it's supposed to be Narnian magic or something), how Susan became more or a LADY/respected member of society of how she could even battle, how Lucy grew up etc etc. The part about Edmund changing was better than the rest, in my humble opinion...

Cast was great (the Prince Charming from Shrek 2 [Rupert Everett] voiced the fox). Peter was quite handsome, but probably because we kept having to look at him, I thought Susan was pretty from the moment I saw the poster, Edmund was cute: Ugly but adorable, and Lucy has crooked teeth! was the innocent and rather pure one of the lot. Tilda Swinton! I know Zeena loves her for all the proddings in the movie, but I thought her makeup wasn't really good: Too much gel in her hair made her seem really artificial (the thought of an inverted ice cream cone kept coming to my mind). The part of her going to battle was great though.

I thought Aslan seemed rather faked: With the exception of his great head. Liam Neelson's voicings were great though: Really velvety and 'strong'. But Aslan's body seemed really faked, as it was that part that was computer-generated. The head was REAL: The producers did make Aslan's head.

Some parts did make me jump though: The part when the wolves suddenly attacked, how the party of both humans and beavers ran from them, Santa in his sleigh being mistaken for the White Witch etc. I liked the fact that the Santa in the movie defied traditional images of a white bearded guy in a bright red hat lined with white fur, great coat and pants red again and lined with white fur, as well as a huge leather belt to attempt holding in his beer belly (incidentally, with my descriptions, we ought to hunt Santa down for cruelty to animals: Using animal goods for his clothes!).

The transition between them and about 20 years later wasn't really good: Not many people who didn't read the book probably understood it, but I did. And so, I didn't really bother myself with the rest of them except Zeena, who kept prodding me and spoilt all the fun and excitement. Anti-climax!

Maybe it was because of her grief that she didn't get to meet Ng's Auntie Mui Eng's elder son, since her sole reason for going was probably only that. Zeena, this is called FATE. Poor Jiamin didn't get to reconcile with her long lost brothers too... Aww, how could Auntie Mui Eng do that? It was so cruel of her! (The white witch reincarnated...)

I don't think I'll be able to upload pictures anytime soon, for my computer doesn't have the required software to upload pictures, unless anyone is kind enough to allow me to try using their comp. My camera is a Sony, in case anyone has the same software... And Auntie Mui Eng's kids looked like they were going to Antartica instead of going to the movies, but of course, I wouldn't bother terrorizing them for it would be dramatic irony/tyranny. *snorts*

Imagine me next to them. We would all meet our demise indeed.

Today was really enjoyable, except for the extremely poor organisation by no other than myself.

In the morning, I woke up at 9am, which is really early for me... Ironically, I couldn't sleep. Was watching television till about 10, when I went online... Pam was talking to me about borrowing money from her maid, and I was going 'ok...' Bao finally came online at 10.30... You managed to wake up!

Went blog-surfing, and saw that Jiamin had a headache... Asked her how she was, but sadly, no signal.

I have no idea why, but the road outside my home had so much sand, each time a vehicle went by, a sand storm commenced. It was really disgusting, and that was why I was kind of late.

When I was walking up the steps of the MRT with my dark glasses still on, someone called me behind, and I was like 'I thought everyone else was here already, and I was the only one 20 mins late...' Turned out that Xueying and Irene were both as punctual as I am. Haha!

We then walked to Lido, where I got Pam's ticket as she'd only decided to come yesterday... After I promised to pay half her ticket.

Anyway, we were walking around, looking for the people who said they'd be there at 12 when it was already 12.10... Interestingly, there was no one else but Karene. Wow...

Since there were too many people at Lido, we decided to cross the underpass to Burger King outside Borders, where it was much emptier. Sera then called and asked where we were, and was quite exasperated on the phone when I told her that we were at Burger King, not Lido. She arrived with her sis, and started in a sarcastic tone about how I didn't have to go there because we'd had lunch with Ng there, and that there were much more choices at Lido: Macdonalds, KFC... She kind of ran out of ideas here, so I sarcastically added in that she'd missed out Taco Bell, Pizza Hut and Long John Silvers. Finally speechless, she sat down. Her poor sis then went to get onion rings, then Sera went.

Chatted there, me taking dainty little bites, thus breaking the record of eating a burger in about an hour. Didn't feel like eating much today... Everyone else'd finished eating, except for the honourble me... Muahahaha...

Some of them then left for Starbucks, while the others happily trotted to Borders when we saw someone familiar walking in: -cued gasps- This teacher called Mrs Wong from the school! Sadly, it wasn't the other Mrs Wong (aka Claire's darling), but it was such a treat that this Mrs Wong was wearing a BAREBACK. *sniggers*

I'd thought I'd left my wallet and handphone in Burger King, thus ran back to get it, only to go there and realise that the cleaner auntie had already cleared the table! Despaired, I ran back under the rain and thunderclouds, checking my bag till Sars finally told me that my wallet and phone was with her. Hmmph!

We went to the Narnia exhibition opposite Borders after I'd gotten 'Alegria' and 'Varekai', both by Cirque Du Soleil, and Sars had gotten 'One flew over the cuckoo's nest' by Ken Kesey. Seems like I've influenced quite a few people to get that book... And 1984 by George Orwell too.

Pam and Pui then called to say that they were still in Borders...Oops, sorry to both of you if you'd felt left out... Didn't mean to do that. I was kidding with Xinrong to get her face painted, but unfortunately, she didn't. Ah well... This is called fate. I was quite tempted to get painted up as the White Witch though... Xinrong said that Ng didn't need any makeup to look like her, and I fully agreed.

Went back to Lido, and met Bao and Jiamin, who looked a little better. Waited around, talked to Xinrong while waiting for Bernice, Zeena, Ng & her kids and Jiaying at the mouth (or asshole, decide for yourself) of the escalator. I'm not sure if it was then that I saw that guy from my school (Perth, ADUH) and his mom... But I was really shocked when I saw them.

Xinrong and I and a bunch of other people decided not to pay $0.10 for the use of the toilet, and thus went to the Isetan one. People'd thought that we'd disappeared into thin air. Went back up, Xinrong saw Lulu from the escalator and announced it to all of us.

When Ng finally came, heard that Sars called her 'Auntie Mui Eng'. *sniggers* Please tag her reaction, Sars! Anyway, when she was paying me, she was like 'I should put you next to my sons... *laughs*' I was like 'NO'. Good Lord... I think she was serious though.

And ironically, she would have gotten her wish if we'd sat by our seats. Fortunately, we didn't.

After that, took class photos, and today, so many people've told me that I'm starting to be like Ng. I take that as an insult...

Went to kovan with Sars, and bought 3 books namely 'A Fortune Teller Told Me' by Tiziano Terzani, 'Sophie's World' by Jostein Gaardner and 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame' by Victor Hugo. Cost me near $40 on top of the VCDs...

That's all.

People who owe me money

Sars: $4
Bernice: $8

I may just take the $4 off Sars' account as her birthday present and throw something in... Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps.

People getting/gotten/going to get again stuff from me this Christmas

XinRong
Marissa
Zeena
Ng (shared with Zeena and Sera)
Sera
Pam
Yanne
Jiasin (will pass both of you the stuff when we meet)

People getting/gotten cards (all going with a lollipop except above people)
All the above people
Claire
Irene
Karene
Jiaying
Shiru
Faus
Sheena
Pui
Xueying
Melesa

Shall have to get stamps etc soon... And I HAVE to stop procrastinating!!! Won't pass the stuff on the class outing though... As Pam'd said, I'd be a sitting duck for robbery.

Sorry to those who aren't getting anything, but I really have no more money to spare till after the outing tomorrow, and by the time the cards/stuff gets to you, the Christmas spirit would be gone, thus it wouldnt be of much use... Maybe CNY?

And if you wish to watch the following movies, you can borrow the VCD from me provided that you promise to take extreme care of them.

1: Hotel Rwanda
2: Schindler's List (M18)
3: 2046 (NC16)
4: Troy (NC16)
5: The Pianist

Movies I'll may be getting:

1: The Godfather Series (Part 1 is M18)
2: Big Fish (NC16)
3: Akira (Jap cartoon) (M18)
4: Kingdom of Heaven (NC 16)
5: Allegria (not a movie, but a Cirque production)
6: Varekai (see Allegria description)
7: Quidam (see Allegria description)

Won't be getting as much movies as books, as I would be broke if I did so... And I got a book on George Harrison called 'Behind Sad Eyes'! I'm really getting broke...

Shall go off now.

3:45 PM

Reports... They can dance naked in front of me, crash into the Christmas Tree, get swung around the heads of Santa's little helpers, flail their thin arms in the water and decompose and get eaten by fish/crabs/dolphins/sharks/frogs/giant octopus/God-knows-what/Don't-know-don't-care, and I'm not going to throw my precious Beard Papa cream puffs in to save them (alternative for dumplings). And it's not going to spoil my mood!

Narnia!!! Surprisingly, I'm actually excited, and so is Zeena Tan... By the way, to Zeena: I'm going to make you visibly go green with jealousy... *sniggers*

Ollie, the first para on reports is not directed at you, don't worry... And if you could, do me a favour and let me see them (scan them over or take a pic), then use it to line the basket of the stray cat/dog in the street. I would greatly appreciate that!

Anyway what else could my teachers say but 'A very exasperating student: Always caught reading and doing other homework in class', 'Uninterested and unenthusiastic, please improve your attitude', 'Everything could be improved on: Attitude, quality of work, quantity of work done etc', 'Needs brain transplant'. I wish teachers would be as clear and concise as the last remark, instead of cunningly attempting to make it sound more pleasant when it clearly wouldn't be at all.

What a waste of time... Shall go rest, since my eyes still kind of itch and are sore from the 'eye infection' yesterday. Amazingly, it took only about the morning to heal...

Have prebooked all the tickets... For those in the list in the previous post, so if you back out now, I don't care, I don't run a charity and thus you still have to pay me by hook or by crook. Hmmph.

I had to prebook 20 tickets, adding in Sera's sis Ignatia. I'm staying over at her home now if you still dont know it... Got a terrible eye infection today, and I suspect it was that mosquito bite... I'm kind of allergic to mosquito bites (have a mosquito net at home).

Called a parrot a moron today, and according to Pam, it's supposed to be divine retribution that I'm having an eye infection. It's true, since it could only say 'Hello', 'bye', 'sad sad' and 'rainbow'. How bird-brained can it be? (Pun fully intended)

For those who don't know where Lido is, you could meet me at 11.40am at the control station of the MRT, and once again, sorry for the poor organization, but I'm not a great organizer... Thanks to Xinrong for all her help too! I would have died without her...

Got to go. Ignatia (Sera's sis) wishes to use the computer.

Anyway, I managed to buy an M18 movie (Schindler's list) from HMV yesterday! I just took the movie, hesitated a lot, discussed with Pam, tried calling people for help, went to pay, and went out! *laughs maniacally* Shall go back for Kingdom of Heaven, Troy and maybe Akira and Passion of Christ.

I'm broke now due to the $26 I'd spent on VCDs yesterday... (Namely Hotel Rwanda, Schindler's list [as afore mentioned] and The Pianist) Was more or less into war movies.

Shall go read 'A Million Pieces', then write Christmas cards! (I need another 16 cards unless I send 16 people gift tags... Maybe I should send gift tags. Ah well.)

Adding on:

Those who wish to have lunch together before going for the movie, please contact either Xinrong or myself, and send the message around! (mass smsing again... *groans*) Anyone has any suggestions for lunch? So far, Xinrong, Karene and myself are having lunch together... And tics are $8 btw...

My vacation's over, and I'm back... (hears groans)

Anyway, let's describe the last 2 days in a nutshell.

Thursday

Sera dragged me swimming early in the morning, and I nearly drowned. Then, as we were walking to the Toa Payoh MRT station, I saw my previous Chinese teacher, and ran away like a headless chicken. At Takashimaya, I saw this family from my church that my mom knows, and once again, ran away. At Kinokuniya with Zeena and Sera, saw Ms Teo as Zeena walked me to the Jap section when she was supposed to lead me to the academics section. Talk about fate, destiny and omens. 'What happens once will not happen again, but what happens twice would happen a third time'. I think I ought to heed Xinrong's advice and dump my copy of 'The Alchemist'.

Was happily waiting for the train at Somerset MRT, but ended up seeing 10 fully packed trains go by before I COULD get on one. A record indeed.

Today

Slept in, then had lunch and went to Borders. Zeena was late for 22 minutes, and Sera was late for 41 minutes. I was bored to death, and thus went into Borders to read till Her Majesty Zeena Tan arrived.

Zeena then dragged me around looking for a bench, and ended up with a 'where are we going?' after dragging me around for about 5 minutes. She really exasperates me.

Anyway, finished writing in the card, and Zeena wrapped the present up (it turned out quite horrendous, though much better than me wrapping). Then, our 'VIP' called me to say that she had arrived on the red carpet and in her Alex Perry gown and Armani heels. Kidding!

Zeena and I got so flustered, we attempted to go down an escalator coming UP till I stepped on and nearly fell. We laughed ourselves maniacal.

I didn't recognise our 'guest' initially, but Zeena did, and I was like 'are you sure that's her?' (her hair looks a lot shorter and -ahem- more ah soh). So Zeena went up, said Hi to her, and we were waiting for Sera when the latter called to say that she was at the other entrance of Borders, and was LOST. Our 'guest' then commented with an incredulous look on her face 'Sera hasn't been here before?!' And I went 'I think so...' I then went in to look for Sera as our guest had said that she (the guest) was hungry and in pain, and found Sera dressed in a Sesame Street Big Bird yellow shirt and blue shorts (I think...)

Our 'guest' then dragged us to 'Burger King', which was conveniently located outside Borders, after complaints from her that she had not eaten burgers for ages. So, the 4 of us trotted gleefully into the sunset -kidding- the fast food joint.

She then walked to the right of the restaurant, and planted her quite huge ar*e on the plastic chair against the wall. Zeena took her seat opposite her, and Sera and I were fighting over the seat next to Zeena, but Sera unfortunately won. So, I had to sit next to our guest.

As there were 2 trays with previously used stuff on them, our guest asked Zeena and Sera to clear them, and then proceeded to draw a blue and quite old $50 note from her black leather wallet, and asked me to go order stuff and planted her hand on my shoulder.

When Sera and Zeena came back, I went 'May I take your orders?' to Sera, and the latter said that she had never been to -cued gasps- Burger King before, and when I turned to Zeena, it was the same answer. With an incredulous look on her face again, our guest then asked if they really had never been to Burger King before, and they both said yes... I was equally shocked too. As a result, they both went to get food, and left the 2 of us there.

We then struck up a conversation on how each other was, and I was talking about Perth while she was talking about her op, on how TWENTY-odd fibroids were removed, and how glad she was and how loudly she sang her Alleuias that they were all benign, and how they were all caused because of hormonal inbalance... (I was quite tempted to laugh here) Sera then came back and asked if our guest wanted a Whopper (sp?) jnr or a CHICKEN Whopper jnr, and I was like 'right...'

And I set a record! Our guest wanted to stuff something (used burger wrapper) in my mouth to shut me up in less than an hour and a half! Shall get to this later...

Talked, talked and talked. Most of the time, Sera and Zeena were smacking each other and arguing. Our guest then said 'Judy and Punch show', and I was like 'Sera and Zeena show'. How about choral night next year?

Our guest noticed my nails halfway (got stick on ones today), and went 'where did you get your nails done?' and I was like 'uh... Myself?' and all 3 asked me to help them do it. Sorry, but I got these from Aus.

Zeena started rambling about James Tan teaching Advanced Lit next year, and our guest was equally horrified. I was too, initially... He sang lullabys to the Sabs class by telling JOKES. Wow. No offence to anyone.

Well, back to the part when Sera and Zeena came back with the orders. Sera thoughtfully forgot to get little cups for us, since we were sharing the drinks... Thus, heroic me jumped to the rescue, and had to face the unhappy face of the counter staff, as well as the irritated 'tsk' when I politely asked for the cups. Wow.

Zeena then talked about shoes, and about how she wanted some kind of shoes, and I went 'Zeena, you ought to get high heels instead, and learn to be a lady, so that you can be a RESPECTED MEMBER OF SOCIETY'. That was how our guest came to pick up her used burger wrapper and go 'Someone stuff this into Jolene's mouth'. How very polite...

We were talking about family, and how we ignored our family members and occassionally insulted each other. I'm glad I didn't pay our guest the insult of the fact that her hair looked ahsoh... I think she'd been insulted enough, since she came up with that example... I then said that my mom wears 'auntie-red lipstick', and got attacked by a series of 'I wear auntie-red lipstick alright!' and 'my mom wears auntie-red lipstick too!' Right.

Zeena then talked about how perfect her relatives were, and how they talked about her, and I was like 'so what?' Our guest then repeated after me. Talk about copyrights.

Guest and I got quite exasperated by Sera and Zeena arguing, and I stared up at the ceiling, and guest followed me. Initially, we were staring at each other and pointing at them, and I found a way of stopping the argument: By grabbing Sera's book and stuffing it in the middle of both of them. Eye contact indeed. This counted for quite a number of times...

Zeena named the 'marshmellow toy pig' after me, as I gave it to her, and I was like 'is that supposed to be a compliment?' Our guest then said that it was obscene as she did not catch my sarcasm... ZEE ZEE THE CHIMPANZEE, YOU DESERVE TO DIE. Haha!

Before going off, Zeena asked our guest for her address, to mail a Christmas card to. I then asked why, and Zeena said that it's the old-fashioned way... And I then said that Zeena should tie it to a pigeon instead. Our guest then said that I was becoming James Tan... (really old fashioned)

Oh yes! I was ranting about sabs, and saying how we watched HARRY POTTER, and how people next door were watching Big Fish instead. Our guest then said that it was because poisonous toad (heng) stole the idea from her, and that toad loves to steal ideas. We told her about the toad thingum, and we were laughing like mad.

Ah well. After guest and Sera went off, Zeena and I continued shopping at Borders, and I bought a DALI BOOK (Yes! It was on offer...) and a tantra (philosophy/psychology) book (also on offer...). Tons of good books were on offer! Couldn't really choose with my budget..

Zeena then dragged me shopping at Wheelock Place, and I didn't buy a thing due to the prices... Bleh.

Long enough 'comeback' post.

P.S: No prizes for guessing who the guest is. And could all people who come here please email your home addresses to me? I may do a Zeena Tan and send Christmas cards to everyone I know. Thanks!

Here is Jolene, slumped in her comfortable Osim green cushioned and grey handled chair, in front of the one-year old Philips computer, unable to conjure up any rubbish to put on her dear blog.

She thinks of what the purpose of blogging is: For friends? For self-entertainment? Or, just like a plain good diary of the stone age, to record one's memories? She realises with a sudden gasp: She can't think of a reason!

So she sits there, showing her spare tyres to the entire world, demoralized and unhappy, contemplating shutting down her blog forever, and somehow manages to come to the clumsy conclusion that yes, she would take a vacation from cyber space and perhaps, when she's psychologically ready to face the cyber world, return to blogging. Or maybe she'll never be ready for the world...

Finally, I'm back in the sweltering heat of home, with U2 songs blaring from the headphones of my computer, and me comfortably sitting in front of the computer obeying the couch potato code of order.

Hmm, here's a recount of yesterday...

We were busy chucking and squashing as many objects as possible into our baggage, be it books, clothes, chocolates, sweets, Uncle Toby muesli bars (my insane mom), my stuffed toys (no kidding), and a bag of 'Smiths' original crinkle-cut potato chips etc... It'll be night by the time I've listed everything.

Anyway, we were at the airport at about 1.30 pm(2 and a half hours before our flight: Singaporean spirit) to check in, due to my mom's desire to get a good seat. We didn't get one anyway. So, we were happily chucking our boxes and bags on the belt and getting ordered by that bloody rude airport check-in lady. In the end, our baggage weighed up to 139kg, which was insanely impossible since we only had about 5 medium sized bags, and 3 boxes, each with an average weight of about 8 kg. My guess is that she forgot to erase the baggage weight of the people before us... Her supervisor then came over and demanded rudely (once more) that we take our stuff and repack it till it's 90kg, but my mom made them re-weigh our stuff, and it turned out to be only about 70kg. So, we're bloody angry at the lousy service at the Perth international airport, and we're probably writing in, since those bloody losers did not even bother apologizing, and handled our baggage rather roughly. Hmmph.

We then sat around and had lunch, and well... Were quite late to check in, since we had to queue for about an hour (the airport here's really lousy). And, I was randomly picked for some explosives check (random check). Probably because I look so nice and innocent (sarcasm). And at that time, there was some announcement for a certain Mrs Lim, but we were too stressed up by this stupid check. That person apparently thought I was JAPANESE, and kept jabbing to the Jap instructions till I finally half-shouted at her in exasperation that I could speak and perfectly understand English. Talk about irony.

It turned out that the 'Mrs Lim' they were calling for was my mom. Thus, the plane was delayed as they'd thought my mom wasn't on the plane yet, when in actual fact, she was. What a bad day.

At least it wasn't that bad at Changi Airport, or we would have screamed the building down. Fortunately, my mom did not go shopping. She'd finally decided that it's better to keep for rainy days, and that we really could not hold a single thing anymore. Wow... Must have been enlightenment.

Ah well. My fingers are aching, and I'm going out with Yanne later. Shall go then!

P.S: Explanation of inane request of the computer version of Pokemon on MSN: I was playing it on the plane (Singapore Airlines), and I managed to get my cyndaquil to evolve! So, I'm currently hooked to the game. BLEH. Thanks in advance to anyone who has it!

This morning felt so surreal: I finally woke up to the fact that there wasn't anymore school till next year. But, I don't feel any happier than yesterday.

My dreams were swatted away like irritating flies by my gran, who was procrastinating her packing for her flight till this morning, and was busy cramming things into her already filled-up bag. The rustling of plastic bags, unzipping and zipping of her luggage bag, noisy ripping of masking tape and opening and closing of the fridge... GRR. To think that today was the FIRST BLOODY DAY I COULD SLEEP LATE. Not really true actually.

We then drove to the airport at approximately 9, me dragging my sleepy, tired carcass all the way there. I was too tired to notice much.

Anyway, going back tomorrow... But I'm not in the best of moods now. My mom has been going ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON... If there was a race between her and the Hogwarts Express, I think she'd win. She's getting on my BLOODY NERVES, and as much as I've asked her to SHUT UP, she wouldn't. And she's been repeating what she's been saying for the whole bloody week, though I was in school most of the time. She keeps saying that my gran's stupid to make us bring FRUITS back, and I must say I totally agree. We're bringing TWO boxes full of fruit back for my gran, because she wants to give them to relatives. Not as if NTUC/Cold Storage/God-knows-where doesn't have fruits.

And so, I'm probably going to flop on my bed like a dead bird (no idea why I've used this similie) tomorrow night due to the muscle-building exercises at the airport. BLEH.

I've just looked at Sars' 'totally unlike Sars' post, and here are my unworthy comments.

I do not have a book that's kept for 14 years of my life, but I do have this blog that's probably containing over a year of my innermost but mostly 'outer-most' thoughts. And sometimes, looking back at them sends waves of nostalgia through my no longer existent brain, as well as a cocktail of many other powerful feelings.

Many who have looked into the attics of my blog have commented on the LSC'04 post, of which my command of the ah-soh language was better than never. I could have happily logged into the account, commanded my lousy and lazy index finger to right-click on 'settings', scroll all the way down to that post, and lo and behold! I could click delete, send it reeling somewhere down the vortex of cyberspace and into an unfathomable abyss, and keep up my 'image' of a totally 'ah-soh-phisticated' image.

The reason I didn't want to was probably because of the fact that sometimes, reminders of your previous stupidity are needed to stop you from getting your actually-empty head inflated with helium. Because, if that happened, it wouldn't get you anywhere except into outer space, where you can no longer hear those bloody minions shouting 'good riddance' on Earth. Well, perhaps then you can fill your mind with images of outer space, as well as a few martians and 'jupiterians'...

Reading through my previous post, it's probably one of the times when I tell myself 'Hey, that's absolutely true!', despite the fact that I'd written it myself. Say I'm schizophrenic, but sometimes, you're 'possessed' to write something you feel as if you hadn't, and when you read it, it's almost like you never wrote it. The part of missing nothing else besides the food's probably wrong, but well...

And this links to Sars' point of letting go. It's so easy to say 'oh, just let go... Like you're holding a great big balloon, and you let it go, see the red dot fly higher and higher into the blue till it disappears'. Using this warped analogy of a balloon, imagine how hard it is for a kid to let it go... And balloons actually come down after some time... So is this related to Freud's theory of repression in any way?

That line was just another of my random ramblings, thus ignore it. And since I've raised the concern of my becoming 'bimbotic' with Sera, shall save myself the mortification of not mentioning it here.

To make all of you jealous, as well as to make up for the unexistent blog posts, I've acquired the movie '2046'. *Evil laugh* Anyway, for Zeena's sake, it's but 5 days left till I'm in Singapore. I know that all of you are groaning away, but I'm sharing a little of those feelings too.

As all Singaporeans overseas always say, it's the food they miss most, and I'm nothing but the typical returning Singaporean. Besides that, I doubt there's anything much I miss... And well, the chances of me sneaking into the school are close to zilch, since I don't wish to be hung at the top of the clock tower by my undies.

That was a joke, but here's the serious part of it: I don't wish to go back to a place where tons of people are wishing to go after me with choppers, pull me apart limb by limb, hang me by my toenails and display this mutiliated me on the flagpost (inspiration from xr). And I'm not kidding. From the rate anonymous taggers (synonym of idiotic cowards) are flooding my tagboard, it's almost a certainty murder would be commited if I'd set my smelly foot on the sacred ground of the school.

And anyway, I suppose you all would have been gleefully shouting 'GOOD RIDDANCE' the day you all realised I wasn't returning in the second semester, and I shall allow you all to keep your glee, since I don't think I'm such a great person to be welcomed in your realm. So there.

On the way to school today, in my mom's red Toyota Camry Station Wagon looking out at the blurs of green, the thought of Van Nguyen suddenly popped into my puny head: He was actually being hanged in Singapore at the time I was going to school. It amazed me at how ordinary things were in school, even though it was said that Australia was at loggerheads with Singapore due to this issue.

What mattered more was how some people viewed his death to be, especially Singaporeans in this case. 'Oh, serves him right, since he's dumb enough to try smuggling drugs through Changi Airport.' Remarks along this line probably won't seem unfamiliar, since they're present on the Net, in school (perhaps), or even at home. But it's the tone of these people that frightened me the most: There is actually a HUMAN that's being put to death out there, and you are almost gloating. Perhaps it is just human nature, since this was portrayed in TKAM, as well as 'One flew over the Cuckoo's nest'. It probably shook Australia that bad since capital punishment was abolished for about 20 years already. As for Singapore...

Ah well. Enough of this dreary business. I've got only ONE DAY OF LESSONS LEFT! And of course, it's cause to be rejoiced for, yet I'm not in the best mood... It's not very nice with a brother who's sitting in front of the computer happily spending his hours watching 'Band of Brothers' as well as playing computer games, while you're having ar*e-numbing hours in class. It's also not nice to know that no matter how hard you try, no one really listens to you or your opinions... I'd rather not elaborate on this.

Shall (futilely) attempt to lift my mood by playing some computer games. Alleuia.
