This week, as you have all already concluded, has been as enjoyable as a) Using a porcupine as a bath sponge b) Sitting next to a chalkboard with vampires sharpening their teeth on it c) Being an ant around me I think statement c needs some explanation. For some reason, I've grown increasingly biased towards those cute little scuttling creatures after some of their comrades decided to get onto me and sink their teeth into my nice microscopic pores. As such, I have decided to conceive an AEP, aka Ant Eradication Plan (not Art Elective Programme). Every time an ant comes in sight, I command my left hand to grab my shoe off my right foot, bend down, and slam my shoe with a flourish on what would later be a nondescript little black dot to be flicked away lazily by my glorious finger. Finally all the assignments and such are more or less over, but next week shall crush me like an ant with the deluge of tests. Also, the week ended with a finishing touch with me getting a glorious detention for forgetting to do my psychology homework once. And this once, Ms OC (for a lack of a better description) decided to check our work. Little Miss Midget, the confused, disorganized person she was, towered over me (get the irony?) and shouted at me when the other three-quarters of the class had not done their work either. Talk about picking on people. Maybe she's just being racist. After all, I'm 'unique' in the psychology class. Sadly, I didn't have my music lesson during OC's biology lesson again. She got rather irritated by that last week, as I'd already said. Anyway, during music, my teacher went rather berserk and said that with the song I was playing, I could go for a competition. I started rabidly 'coughing', but I think she thought I was just sick. I ended up sounding like Darth Vader suffering from a cardiac arrest at the end of music, and thus forgot to get my book on Scales back from my teacher. I shall go off to bed after this exhausting week, and really, I doubt I'll be able to start on Chapter 12 & 13 of Cgers till next friday or something. Revision for tests comes first due to the reluctance of my eardrums to be subjected to torture. And as a finishing note... YAY TO DETENTION! (draw your own conclusions...) 9:49 PM Thursday, March 30, 2006 Let's summarise the week that has just flown past into a few concise sentences. Weekend and Monday: Busy attempting to burn cds (trust me, they take a long time) and in the really unsuccessful attempts, wasting about 6 perfectly new blank cds. Also wasted time at UWA on Saturday with the university lecturer during the Maths workshop, but as you've all expected, it was all unintelligible. Tuesday: Desperately surfing net and asking around for info on Bach's *puts on formal voice* prelude and fugue in B-flat Major, BWV 866. Concluded research at about 11.30PM with 5 pages that had to be read out in max. 8 mins. Wednesday: Cut down on crap for music to 2 and a quarter page (4PM-6PM). Watched the Simpsons in between, went out for dinner. 9PM-12AM: English assignment on video clips which was supposedly due today. Anyway, our presentation was delayed due to the first 2 groups taking up 20 minutes each. As such, our insane teacher decided to cut everyone else's speeches to 3 minutes per person, when the first 2 groups at 10 minutes each. How unfair is it? So, I happily created a song called 'Ms D*y is an asshole*, sang to the tune of 'Na-ni-na-ni-pu-pu'. It just goes 'Ms D*y is an asshole, Ms D*y is an asshole' and so on, into the vortex of space as the tune gets passed down through generations. Maybe it will become a pop song some day. As you can see, I clearly need a break. I'm just going to hop off to do my will and eulogy after I'm done with this post for firstly, it's the 2nd week in a row that I have failed to do much practising for my piano lessons. Secondly, there's a biology 'quiz' tomorrow on some rubbish about the heart and the semi-lunar valves and such. Lastly, the teachers brilliantly crammed all tests and assignment into the last 2 and a half weeks of school. Let me put a summary up for a clearer picture of their ingenious plan. This week: Formal music assignment (Today), English assignment(tomorrow). Next week: Chem test (Mon), Bio test (Tues and Fri), Maths test (Fri), Psychology assignment (Thurs), music performance (no idea when). Last 3 days before hols: 2 music tests on aural stuff and compositions. And thus you can see the brilliance of the brain child the teachers have conceived together. Let me point out to you that all the following assignments and tests are major ones. Also, let me take this great opportunity to add that for the past month, we have had no tests/assignments/what-so-ever from any teachers. As such, I would like to explain why my blog is turning somewhat Zeena-like: Blogging only at random times. Also, replies to my fans *waves to tagboard* shall have to be delayed, and in addition to them, the chapters of Cgers that I owe (aka chapters 12, 13 and maybe 14) since it seems rather impossible for me to do anything about it with the deluge of homework and tests (these are negligible). In a clumsy conclusion, I am sorry for all the inconveniences caused, as there shall be a slight aversion to my blogging patterns (which means at least once in 2 days) and in cgers. Sadly, there doesn't seem to be anything I can do about it as I don't wish for my Mum to continue hogging the phone with phone calls from teachers... 8:34 PM Sunday, March 26, 2006 Today's been a bad day. It all started off with my dad going back, and somehow, I wish I was the one going back instead, despite it being a Qantas flight (don't like the food). Couldn't sleep, and when I got up, I just didn't feel like eating anything. Sat lazing around until my mom got home. Anyway, tried to burn some classical music into a blank cd for my music assignment (selected ones from my cd collection which is happily sitting in some container on the way here) but wasted about 5 perfectly good blank cds instead. Quarrelled with ass of a brother over that, as the burning was going perfectly well till he hi-jacked the computer. In any case, I was even cursing God for being blind because the cds didn't go well. Perhaps I was just in a bad mood that we had to go to church after all, but God made it that I was blind: I nearly tripped over someone's foot when he was kneeling down. Came home, and quarrelled with mom and brother. I just don't understand why we should continue staying here since all of us are so unhappy. The main reason for coming, as I had stressed a week or so ago, was because of my brother wanting a deferment (sp?) and now he turns around to say that he wanted a better life for all of us. Yeah right, nice joke. I think I need anti-depressants, or rather, those white submarines to drown out other noises in my life, and to fight my battles for me. I'm starting to feel that I can't take it anymore. I haven't touched any of my homework, tried to do some piano but felt really horrible (hand was shaking etc), felt really angry for no reason, cried in the morning after dad left and so on. I just haven't had any motivation to do anything except sit around and sleep. I'm probably going to earn a few phone calls to my mom for not doing any homework, but I just can't get myself to do any of them. I need something to shut the voices in my head up. And I need it fast or I'll just have to shut them up physically sooner or later. 10:15 PM Saturday, March 25, 2006 Click me! In any case that any of you have seen pictures of the movie 'The Da Vinci Code', you dont have to click that. Anyway, don't you think Mona Lisa in the picture looks like a cross between Shirlene Tieh and the real Maybe Dan Brown wrote the Terry Pratchett (spelling?) series too. But that would seriously mean that he is either a) schizophrenic or b) just plain ingenius. Click me too! I never knew Mitsubishi Lancer's logo was a religious symbol... I'm afraid they've missed out Toyata, Mercedes Benz and so on and so forth. Maybe I'm wrong. It may well be a religious symbol for all I know, and I'm terribly sorry if I'm being blasphemous here. Blasphemy fits the subject as well as the Star of David fits the Jews here though... (as in, by the mentioning of afore mentioned movie) I'm also terribly sorry that my grammar has been slipping from terrible to horrendous to unworthy of human eyes. To add to the list of 'terribly sorry(s)' is the fact that I've been sticking Da Vinci Code movie photos all over this post. Not exactly. Only 2 photos. Incidentally, some of it may be too obscene for your tender eyes to view. For all I know, the Pope will be issuing some decree that all Catholics, which includes the glorious me, are to be banned from viewing it. Ah well. Before he decrees it, I'll look at the photos. Anyway, I shall correct the grammatical error tomorrow. Too tired now. 11:41 PM Friday, March 24, 2006 Yesterday night, I was dragged out unhappily by my mom to go socialising (aka having dinner with strange old people who ask inane questions). My displeasure was obviously very apparent by the number of sudoku puzzles I completed (I take about 20 mins on average) while waiting for the food to arrive, and after the meal when the others were ah-sohing. And btw, I finished about 6 puzzles I think. One of the factors that contributed to my displeasure was probably because Ollie slipped me this green little note during recess asking if I wanted to go to the supermarket to stock up on snacks etc, and I happily agreed. Then, as I'd forgotten all about the missionary dinner circle my mom had on till we got into the car. Thus, I couldn't get the snacks I wanted. Anyway, I should be glad that I got home alive. My piano teacher fortunately didn't skin me alive for not practising as hard as she expects me to (which is about an hour a day). As you all know, most of my day's spent either before the television or before the computer or sleeping. Or eating, or showering, or just daydreaming, and of course, attending boring lessons. So, I got off with a mild scolding (phew) as I'd done quite well last week. So... The day started off on a really bad note: Religious education. As I was talking to my friend about wishing the teacher didn't come, a relief teacher stepped into the classroom. I was then audibly heard thanking santa claus for making this dream come true. Everyone was staring inanely at me though. English: As usual, as dry as the teacher, who's Mrs Dry incidentally. Maths: Bah. Doing linear equations now... Thus, solution to my boredom was to sandwich my sudoku book between the textbook and a sheet of paper in case the teacher caught me doing sudoku. Went off 5 minutes before the lesson ended for music. Music: You all already know. I got the teacher angry even before the lesson started by arriving late. Biology: As I made my way into the classroom, the Biology teacher walked out to get some worksheets or something. I then explained that I had a music lesson, but she got pretty pissed off that I was late anyway, and walked off with an audible tsk and an intense look of displeasure all over her face. Go tsk at my music teacher if you wish. Obviously I didn't wish to incur her wrath for she teaches me psychology too. Economics: I think swatting mosquitoes in the school would have been way more interesting. Psychology: Had that Biology teacher again. From how she picks on me, I can draw come to a glorious conclusion that her memory's as developed as her stature is. For one, she only remembers MY name out of the whole class. No. two: She remembered that I did badly for one question in the Science mock test (worksheet), thus got a level 5 instead of 6, but that my other questions were answered well. Maybe she's hallucinating that she only has one student in the class, aka me. Or maybe it's just a calling for me to change my name to something more complicated, like Mireille (mi-ray) or Skyler (sounds like some Pokemon). It's Friday already. About 2 weeks to my end of term hols! And incidentally, I haven't started on Chapter 12... :S 4:47 PM Monday, March 20, 2006 Poor Amandas. Just read from Jiamin's blog that Amandas got some anonymous threatening message from a pervert. If I were her, I'll break into the Tieh's office and steal her wand. *winks* Anyway, jokes aside, I wonder if it's just a prank. It doesn't seem to be that way though... Saw the other tag this guy posted, and it really looks like the guy needs a mental hospital. But if I were Amandas once more, I'll still be really careful. Since we are on the dear subject of chronic gers, just a reminder that Chapter 11 is up. The author dutifully stayed up till 12.12AM on a Saturday night to finish it all up. Be grateful, you lucky minions. My posts have been increasingly incoherent, and so are the tags. Maybe this all reflects my state of mind? On a random note, James Blunt has a weird voice, for a lack of better vocabulary. It sounds rather bird-like in a way, yet sounds as though he has been gagged. His songs are rather sad though. About breakup and what nots... NO, I have not broken up with anyone. It's just that I've had to do some research on video clips for an in-class presentation. As usual, the syllabus is tailored to the people here. We don't do any literature. Only singing and dancing (literally). I've been feeling sick again. The crimson curse of women has struck again, but fortunately, I'm luckier than those who were cursed enough to have it during OBS. I feel really sick during this time of the month though... As you all already know because of Ng's proud discovery, I have low blood sugar and what bullsh*t. So, this afternoon during lunch, I was really sick and just sat in the library sleeping/slipping in and out of conciousness. My friend thought I was ignoring her though. Oops... Really tired. Probably explains this highly incoherent post. 9:59 PM Saturday, March 18, 2006 Personality test! Go see that! I found that web off the net (we're doing personality cr*p for psychology. We touched on that in class already) and it's pretty cool :). My mom's watching Iron Chef, this Japanese cooking show that features 3 chefs in stupid uniforms that cause them to sweat so much, the sweat in turn goes into the food and possibly incurs tons of medical fees (from diarrhoea). I also pity the people who wash the guys' clothes... Also, my mom decided in a flourish to try Just Juice's 'Apple and Passion Fruit Juice' (actually, it was a unanimous decision between her and I) since it was the last bottle of Just Juice on the shelf. It tastes quite good actually... Last night's performance was quite alright... Only about 10 people performed. The duet was quite good actually (better than the practices, in my opinion), but my solo was rather trashy. I ended on the wrong note when it was supposed to give a 'suspended' feeling. Gave it more of a 'crashed on the wrong party, oops' feeling though. It was definitely much worse than practice, but after all, I've only had about a lesson to prepare it: On the day itself. Also, when I was in the last bar (the crash note part), someone crept up behind and told me it was too soft. Not my fault: The piano's even older than me (17 year-old trash). The shock of someone creeping up probably made me press the wrong key, but it's my fault. Anyway, the music director said I did well, so who cares? My mom didn't bother going in; she merely dropped me off and went home. Other people had aunties, grandmas, brothers, mothers etc there, but me? No one. Somehow, I was actually quite glad. At least it was over there and then, and I wouldn't need to face any ridiculing at home like 'haha, you did so badly, you should just have cracked your cranium on the piano and died of mortification'. But deep within me, I know that wasn't the case... Ollie was there with Melissa and Dawn played too, which was pretty cool, since there were only about 3 pianists (pathetic, I know). Dawn was pretty good! (better than me at least) Maths today at the university was plain trash. I should have picked sleeping in over going for it, since the tables there aren't as comfy as my pillow and mattress. I didn't get a single thing the person said, and I suppose it's my fault for being a stupid ar*e. What a waste of $50... The lecturer's handwriting was ant-size. Termites, for the matter, since he was writing in WHITE CHALK. When he erased it with the probably decade-old duster, the room felt like it had just been thrown into a fog. Some people ended up coughing and sneezing incessantly. I'd really recommend for smokers to stay away, since the cilia in their nose has been burnt away by tar or something and there's nothing to filter the chalk dust out... They'll drown in chalk dust. Literally. I know the last paragraph was rather random, but it's merely synthesizing, as dear Ng would say. We're doing stuff on smokers in Biology. I really wonder if the teachers know how to classify their subjects... Smoking should be studied in health ed, and video clips should be watched at home, not during English. Maybe the video clips part is fine, but what's the point of watching clips and not analyzing them?! Music's fun, excluding the mountain loads of homework (compositions). Amazingly, I scrape off with pretty good comments despite handing in 10 minute cr*p. Lately, we've been studying Handel's Messiah, which is extremely long. Listened to 3 parts only, and the class was ready to snooze off. I don't exactly like Handel (fat old guy who loves composing majestic sounding structured stuff). Prefer Beethoven, Chopin, Gershwin, Tchaikovsky etc... Mozart's overrated. And I read in this book that Beethoven had a higher IQ than Mozart. Wonder what Mozart would say about that... (Mozart: IQ tests are overrated!) That was random. One more thing to add before I go off: Chapter 11 may possibly be late again due to the many datelines the author has. I know it's sad, but the author's only started on the first line so far. Shall go off and attempt finishing it now. 8:37 PM Thursday, March 16, 2006 To ollie: I'd love to, but I think you'd need a thousand more earplugs to survive. Jiaying: Nopes, we didn't. Means sissy still has to go back for NS, but it's just a matter of time. Stupid guy can't face up to reality. Claire: I suppose you'd love burnt food too. And is 'stupid baboon' supposed to be an irony? Speaking about cgers, I'm afraid this week's chapters may be late again *ignores ahsoh dagger looks when Channel 8 says their favourite soapie has been delayed* due to my busy schedule. Tomorrow: Music lesson (I'll probably be scolded again due to my lack of practice), music recital in school at an ungodly hour of 7PM, and dad's coming at an even 'ungodlier' hour of 1AM. Saturday: Maths academy at the university, then probably going out (either fishing/church). Ironically, I still would say I hate Maths... I've just finished my psychology homework, and Xinrong's complaining about having Chinese SIA while I'm complaining about the ant-like amount of homework I've to do. Not true actually... We've been stuffed up with compositions to churn out for music. Apparently the teacher heard my rather *cough* audible complaints after rejoicing that I'd finished the work and turning it over to see a completely BLANK page for me to joyfully use more pencil lead on. Oops... What a long day tomorrow and the weekend will be. First lesson: Religious education. My teacher (who's about 70 years of age and should stay at home and vegetate instead) only talks about his dead friends. For example, 'my friend in high school -ah, those were the days... 60 odd years ago... ____ (inserts something about them jumping around in their undies or something) With just a wink of an eye, he's dead...' And now, we're doing Rosa Parks: Another dead person. Amazingly, I was the only person who's read TKAM in the whole entire class. The Rosa Parks 'movie' was quite cool though... Anyway, I'm going off to bed to store enough energy for tomorrow and Saturday. 10:54 PM Wednesday, March 15, 2006 Replies to tags, the taggers of whom I haven't had time to clear the space for in my puny matchbox-sized brain: Yanne: Thanks... Just going through a hard phase. Maybe I'm just cyclically challenged. Zeena: Yeah, miserable loves company. All the best for nationals... Health is still the most important! Ollie: *colossal snort* Haha... Sera: Marshmellow sounds better. :) And cgers has been updated, as you should already have noted... I suppose I should go off and catch some rest instead. School drains so much out of me, sometimes I can even fall asleep at 10.30PM which is really early. A typical day in NY last year would see me rise at 6AM, and go to bed at about 11PM. Now, it's 7AM and 10.30PM. Wow... 10:14 PM
Yeah, yeah, my mom's ahsohing on the phone again. She doesn't even bother that her kid's been complaining to her about the school and wanting to return to singapore. Thinking about it, when have my parents cared about me? It's always been my more sickly and (sissy) brother who needs all the love and care that they have in their little rusted metal tins of their hearts. All the while, I've tried to delude myself, but now I know. The main reason for them draggig my carcass here was HIM. Because he's too sissy to pick up his 20kg bag packed with his rifle, grenades and non-perishable food stuff such as those nitrogen-dried packed stuff. Because he can't do what any other 16 and a half year old in Singapore has to do: Return something to the community, be it by fertilizing the jungles of Singapore with their poop during their outdoor training. Why does the world make it that I have to pay the price for something that doesn't even concern me? Just because he came after your first child doesn't mean he's the f*cking replacement! Even if you see him to be that way, I exist! I know that's something new... I'm not some kind of rag doll you can cuddle one day, show off to the bovines at those 'ahsoh parties' you throw, then just chuck me to one side on another day! I've hinted to you so many times that I hate this place, but have you done anything about it? NO. Stop being so sexist. Just because he's a guy, and will carry your glorious family name, so what? If I wanted to, I could get a sissy, make him take MY name and carry on this stupid blood line. That'd be sad though, since I'd be infecting the world's gene pool with your defective genes. I think I've suffered enough from being the product of your actions. Alternatively, I could go to the USA and get one of those 'designer babies', where I can design them to be smart, dominate the world, kill everyone off, and just to sum it up into a few words, build them into killer machines that destroy everything in their paths because I don't want them to suffer like I have. I've tried to lock everything away in the tiny burnt matchbox of my heart, but I find that it's impossible. I'd hate it if I saw any of my kids, guy, 'ger', deformed (I'd kill him/her before he/she came to this world if it were this case. He/she will eventually kill himself/herself from the stress the world throws in their faces due to their differences anyway), smart, stupid (once again, euthanasia comes into play) suffering from any kind of depression. That's if I even want to bring other beings into this horrible world. World dominating machines sound better though. I know I sound like some heartless creature, but that's just my thoughts. How random's this? 9:51 PM Tuesday, March 14, 2006 I've realised that I've been blogging even lesser as the days pass. In sec one/two, I used to blog daily. Now, it's once in 3 days, and it'll be rather fortunate. Maybe it's just the lack of motivation that I have in my life nowadays. Or maybe it's just that the days have only been something that I wish to pass faster so that I can put another 'x' on my 'far side away' wall calendar. Maybe I just want my life to end right here and right now. School's been, as usual... *drum roll* Horrible. Same ar*eholes who don't respect your needs for space, take your stuff, selfish bas*ards etc. What's new? Anyway, chapter 10's up. I'm sure no further explanation is needed. I don't know why, but I feel as if I'm slipping off the same cliff I nearly slipped off last year. Maybe it's just the build-up of all the events in these tumultuous times that's pushing me off. It doesn't help that school is pouring grease on the edge of the cliff. Perhaps something noteworthy would be I was accepted for that University thing (second round of the application). So, the first session of it's on this Saturday at 9.30AM. Upside: Maybe I can derive some challenge from it which would possibly take my mind off the cr*p here. Downside: I'll probably shatter my limits (hints hints) with the least amount of sleep in a week. Fortunately this isn't every Saturday or China would be trading me off to Taiwan next. Anyway, from what I've seen on your respective blogs, you guys have had a great 'thumb' at OBS. I wish I could have gone. School here's probably worse than OBS... I suppose music, maths (the teacher looks like santa claus and is as nice as santa -> Ms Koh?) and english (batty old witch gets quite entertaining actually) aren't that bad... That means that I can survive it without intense desires to stand up and slap the teacher. What a disjointed blog post. And thanks to those who tried to console me, but as you all would 'fullheartedly' agree with, I'm 'unsalvageable'. 10:14 PM Sunday, March 12, 2006 It's the end of yet another week... And the start of your hols. This is so unfair... Anyway, went shopping with mom and ollie's family at the Sunday market. I bought some stuff including a rubber ducky (yes, yes, snigger all you want), and a fly splatter. Also, opening up my folder, I realised to my horror that I haven't started on Chapter 10! Damn... I clean forgot about it due to my mood swings. Hope you guys came back alive from OBS... (Have I already said this in earlier blog posts?) I'll go off to attempt finishing chapter 10 in about half an hour since I'm going for the 6PM mass :(. 5:07 PM Wednesday, March 08, 2006 I hate CCC. Why? Let me first explain... First, it's so inflexible. Let me cite 2 worthy examples. 1: If you don't get your homework done, the teacher makes you get your mom/dad to write a note to them, explaining why you didn't get your homework done. Yeah, my mom used it to wrap the fish and chips, and dad used it to wipe his ass, and got an ass abrasion. Perhaps you bloody teachers who eat all day long have tons of time to waste, but really, my parents actually have stuff to do. 2: To go to a washroom, you need a teacher to SIGN YOU OUT. Yeah, so the teacher has to decide if I can go pee-pee like a wee little primary school kid. I feel so degraded. Maybe it's just like those whites treating blacks (calling them boy). What more, I didn't even have to sign anything to go to the washroom in primary school. Not even kindergarten, if my memory doesn't fail me. Another reason would be that the teachers aren't there to challenge you: They're there to teach what the syllabus asks of them, and race with the students to get to the carpark after school. As we'd already done algebra in NY, I carried on with the stuff, and since I've been out of touch since June 2005, I did a question and went to ask my Math teacher if it was right. Lo and behold: 'Just wait till I get to that...' Wow. What's the bloody point of paying a hefty sum of $4000 to just sleep in class? There isn't even air-conditioning in every classroom... Something noteworthy would be that I got a letter from the UWA (uni of western aus) that I've been invited to some Maths academy because of my fantastic results in their competition. Oh joy. I'm quite fine with going (at least I get to go out of the house) since it may give me some challenge, but MATHS?! *groans* And what more, early on a glorious Saturday morning when dreamland would be the best place to be in. Urrgh. Anyway, 4 people went for this competition. So I happily rang another person up, thinking she had gotten it to, but to my amazement (and amusement), she didn't. That's weird, for everyone knows my Maths/IQ isn't that good (it's mostly IQ-like questions). I feel so drained emotionally and physically. It was 37degrees (I think) today, and guess what? At 2.20 in the afternoon, we had to go down to the CONCRETE tennis courts and play in the hot sun. I wish I'd gotten a heat stroke though, since it would get me off a few days of school. I think I'll run off to bed before I crush my keyboard with my cranium. 9:52 PM Monday, March 06, 2006 It's so weird to come online each time and see no one from 2/3 with a green man next to her nickname... Maybe it's because of the fact that my mind refuses to register the fact that you guys are at OBS. Anyway, I shall take this time to get my stuff done. 4:29 PM Sunday, March 05, 2006 In case you guys haven't checked out, chapter 9's up already. Anyway, hope you all will come back from OBS still alive and kicking, and in your respective colour shades (meaning not looking like Bangladeshi workers/lobsters). Interestingly, some people wish to get a darker tan... Despite tomorrow being a public holiday, some place in my heart's feeling sad that there won't be the expected number of people online tomorrow night due to afore mentioned activity going on tomorrow. Also, to all wished me 'get well soon', thanks a lot, I'm feeling slightly better now, but I don't expect to get 'well' that soon. Haha... And according to Xinrong, it was Charmaine Chua who said the speech on behalf on Cindy Chng... Hmm. Looks like you guys haven't been listening in assembly, and have been having good 'thumbs' yourselves. Zeena, I already have my pet cactus at home, thus I'm not going to get another one. Humph. Haha! And I hate the weather here. It's damn hot now... Peirong, thanks :). Yanne, you're welcome. Peirong (again), I really wonder if t**h has kids... I can't imagine *ahem*. Really, I don't wish to be sued, so ask me personally if you're really that interested in one of my weird and slightly dirty thoughts. Got to go to church. 5:15 PM Friday, March 03, 2006 For some reason, I've been feeling frustrated, and experiencing serious mood swings. Early in the morning, I had my weekly music lesson, and to my amazement, I was absolutely happy and played really well. Even my teacher was impressed, though I mutiliated Beethoven by changing it all to a major key. More or less, in the morning, my true spirit was just gone. Then came the in class essay, which was quite alright except that my right hand suffered really bad cramps after scribbling 4 sides of full length A4 sized foolscap. During Maths, the real 'me' started to kick in, full force with all the mood swings, depression, cynicism and what sh*t, causing my teacher to think I did not understand what he had written on the board (he was trying to draw something sideways) as I was clearly exercising my forehead muscles. Result: He drew it the right way up and went 'Jolene, it's like that'. Embarrassing, yes, as the whole class turned around to stare at me, and my friends were sniggering away. Science was sh*t. I got scolded for putting the used test tube in the wrong rack for really, my concentration was just gone. This is the same teacher who screamed at us that she didn't want us ordering her around. How delightful. Economics was equally bad. We had to do something about the services the government provides us with, and I more or less blanked out. Also, I got rather upset and uptight about my classmate who always copies my work as 1) I finish it faster 2) She can't be bothered 3) She thinks I'm some genius from outer space that will help her do her homework. On a typical day, I will even hand her my worksheet for I have absolutely no use for it after using it as toilet paper for my Lyra pencil. For some reason, my mood just went down like a train derailing and surging down a hill. Psychology. The class was just starting on 'types of learners', of which we had done last year already. I got scolded for not copying down the notes (same teacher as the Biology one) and it was rather fortunate that I got off without a detention as she'd accepted my explanation that I had done it before. For some reason, she was in an especially good mood at the end of the day, which is the direct opposite of me. A coincidence? Today's been very emotionally and physically draining, but for some reason, I just can't sleep. I'm feeling rather frustrated, but I can't get to the bloody crux of the whole damned problem. This has been going on for quite some time, and each time it happens, I get bad nightmares during the night. I can't find a way for me to escape from this hell; books no longer pose the same attraction as they did in the past, for I know that they allow me to dream, but dreaming takes me to the clouds, and when I awake, the wings are gone and there's nothing to help me from reality. It's the same with writing. I haven't been writing since last year, for somehow, I can't find it within me to do anything in this start of mind, when everything's mixed into a myriad of colours and my thoughts are a maelstrom. Perhaps what James Frey said in 'A Million Little Pieces' is true: There was this bit right at the front about a guy going to the mender, and asked the mender if the latter could mend something for him. The mender than asked how many pieces it was broken into, and the guy said 'A Million Little Pieces'. The mender then said that he could not help the guy, for a million pieces is way too many to pieces back together. Maybe this jigsaw puzzle will end like many others: With a piece or two missing. After all, a million little pieces has been said to be impossible to piece back together... 11:32 PM Thursday, March 02, 2006 Only 3 hours and 5 minutes left, and the 203 day of 2006 would be over. I vividly remember Xinrong mentioning this exactly a year ago to me, and with fascination, I commended her 'genius'. Then, we headed off to write it on the board, but everyone merely took a glance at it and went 'oh yeah. It's 203 day, and shrugged it off like it's any other day. That being said, it WAS any other day since no one appreciated the class that much. Ah well. This year, I'm gone, and so is Laykuan, Sheena, Ferly and Ng. Life changes so fast, in a year, we can't even get to see some people we always took for granted. I remember that 203 day last year was also a Wednesday (see my blog archive), and that we were all in the buzz of getting ready for LSC, and of course, OM nominations. I remember that Xinrong and I were so fussed up about getting our structure perfect 90 degrees, I took off my shoes and lay on the table on my stomach during recess to try to make it perfect. I also remember sniggering away with Xinrong during assembly (on the LSC: With Mrs Chek) and passing snide remarks to and fro. Ng was right infront of us, and kept turning around to glare at us... *sniggers* And at one point, I kind of floated away and stared into thin air (when Chek gave us a minute's free time to cluck), and Ng turned around and stared right into my face. That was really really scary... I miss the past, but what's gone is gone, and will never come back. Maybe the afterlife is what our lives would be, but in reverse order? It'll be rather fun... And anyway, did anyone see my nametag in the pile of stuff in the time capsule? I hope it survived the journey via Irene/Claire/someone (thanks to the person who helped me too!) to Peirong. I really hope the metal bit won't rust off... That's all. Got a damned in-class English essay on 'Romeo and Juliet' tomorrow, and I've been getting increasingly moody and exhausted these few days. Maybe I'm just cyclically challenged... 8:55 PM Wednesday, March 01, 2006 As today's Ash Wednesday, my mom and brother went to mass at 7PM. I was spared the butt-aching agony of an hour of pure sitting down as I had mass in school this morning. It was really boring, but what's new? The singers nearly made us deaf though... So while they were out, the completely insane notion of attempting to cook the bubble tea pearls I bought recently popped up in my pea brain. I got the pot, filled it with tap water, and left it to boil. After 4 minutes, it still didn't look like anything'd happened, so I turned it to maximum, and the thing started sputtering for no reason (not the water, but the fire). Obviously, I didn't want to die of a gas explosion or something, so I turned it to minimum. 10 minutes: Nothing. I came back and asked Pam (who fortunately was online) how you tell when water's boiling, and she said when it was bubbling. I'm sure even a small kid knows that, but my knowledge in the field of cooking's worse than a small kid's. So I fiddled around, turning the fire up and down when I deemed fit, and finally -alleuia- the water boiled! Rejoice! So I happily emptied the packet and timed it. The packet said to wait for 6-8 minutes, so I went back after 8 minutes to try a pearl. Result: It was totally inedible. As in, at 8 minutes. So I waited till about 15 minutes later, and fortunately, it was quite good then. *phew* Good thing: I didn't burn the house down since it's the first time I was cooking alone. Bad thing: We're all probably going to get bad diarrhoea tomorrow. I'm totally drained out now. Shall go to bed now. Night! Replies to tags: Irene: Yeah... Both the teachers are horrid though. Fortunately, it's only for half a year. *phew* I didn't want to take these subjects (more specifically, economics), but the other choices were even more unappealing... (eg: Food technology. Using the above example, any teacher would throw up blood after tasting my food) Zeena: As afore mentioned, the teachers are horrid. Singapore's temp is only 34 at most... The up side here is that it's not humid, as you'd mentioned... And yes, I'm glad you know you're insane too. Kidding... I hate the fact that the temps are bloody extreme here, so on some days, it can be sweltering hot, and on others, you freeze your arse off... I'm really exhausted now, though feeling rather frustrated (ironic, I know). Sadly, I left my piano scores in my locker *sobs*. Beethoven, why hath thou forsaken me? 10:15 PM
