Since Yanne'd requested for me to try my hand at dedications again (let's hope they all don't turn out to be apologies), I shall.

203'05

Aw Jia Yu Eunice: Iron woman (you can't punch her without hurting your knuckles due to her cheese-grating muscles) who was 103'04 and 203'05's monitress. Admired (by me) for her bravery to take on the job of monitress of rascals like yours truly. Can get quite insane at times, especially during Chinese Speech classes. Softball. Monitress.

Bao Cheng: More well known as bao, which incidentally, is a bun (don't think dirty...). Great artist who goes ga-ga over most japanese objects like manga, Gackt (whoever this is), Hyde (see previous), anime. Remembered for her popiah jokes by me, as well as her pink short miniskirt she'd donned in a previous Geog project meeting (she missed the bus stop 5 times, and caused Sars and I to be badly humiliated. We'd run out to the bus we'd thought she was in, and waved maniacally at the bus driver. She wasn't on it though.) Green Club. Art rep.

Qiuting: Possibly the lightest girl in the class, I'm like a giant next to her (and I used to sit next to her. Draw your own conclusions). Had a great time with her during Creative Writing Sabbatical (*coughRAMBUTANcough*) *winks*. Fan of 5566, Harry Potter etc. Nice companion to have, especially in 2.4 KM runs. Golf.

Chan Yi Chi Jacqueline: Used to spell her name wrongly as it's so incredibly long (she holds the Guiness record for the longest name in the class). First noticed her for her voice, which is equally unusual as her name in terms of volume. Known to sing theme song of 'Happy Tree Friends' in mad outbreaks, especially in Ms Lye's class. Choir. English speech rep?

Chong Lu Theng: Also known as LULU, this girl is brave for the same reasons I admire Eunice. Has a complicated relationship (COUGH) with dear Mrs Teo, the latter who loves to bully the former (and I). Patient girl who never gets angry, and blushes tomato red at anyone chanting her Christian name. (MAGDALENE, MAGDALENE!) Strings. (ass)istant monitress!

Chua Xin Rong: My rumoured 'lover' due to people like TIMMY. Unfortunately, majority of rumours are wrong, and this proves to be no exception *glares*. In my OM group... Enjoyed times we went to hunt for material, and stuff our faces with food after that due to rush for debates competitions. Used to go to Borders together, with Macdonald lunches at Wisma Atria (let's do it again when I get back! I sound shameless requesting this...). I could go on for hours about her, but I choose not to. Nicknamed Rong Radish due to English assignment we did (probably intensed her hatred for Ng). Chess and debates. Computer studies rep.

Claire Yuen Qian Hui: Wait. Allow me to say this before continuing. THIS NUT IS IN DENIAL. With that done, let me resume normal order. *Clears throat* Every speech to date done by her was on her hamsters, and even teachers know of her undying love for her hamsters (nut and God-knows-what) due to afore mentioned fact. Is nuts over 'sooty' Mrs Wong-Tan Poh Yee (rhymes) as well as her other *darling*, Ng. Known also for constant 'reminders' from Zheng Lao Shi. Green club. Ex-Science rep (substantiates point on undying love for TPY).

Eu Shu Yen Elizabeth: Apologies if name is spelled wrongly. Runs like the roadrunner in Looney Tunes. Not saying that she's loony. Has an amazing brain, unlike my pea-like one that's already vegetated away. Beat me at long jump (holds record in 2/3. I'm second, sadly enough...), which is so unfortunate. St Johns.

Irene Canmon Han Jia Meng: Found her accent intriguing initially (it's unlike the Singaporean Ah-soh). Helpful girl ever enthusiastic. Extreme juxtaposition to put her and I together, but which Ng successfully did so. Always going around with Jiaying. Cheerful and bubbly girl who never fails to brighten the dust-covered classroom. Excellent at Math (miraculously was one of four who got full marks in CA1 when minions like yours truly only got 14 and were already jumping in glee). Strings. PSGL.

Karene Teo Wei Fang: Known for her extra E (assonance), but name is still pronounced as Karen. Similar to Claire's speech saga (alliteration), always talks about origami. Makes albatrosses and fire-breathing dragons out of plain paper (exaggeration employed), unlike I who can only make paper planes that can't fly (oxymoron and paradox). Nicknamed 'carrot'. Another person dedicated to Ms Lye and TPY. Green club. Science rep.

Bernice Koh Yuan Ling: Gave me a fright on the first day of school at the locker areas. I, being a poor innocent Sec 2 had not expected washrooms to be at the locker area, and thus when this girl came out, I was startled. Muscular as well, and loves to race Eunice during PE. Used to sit beside her, and Ng once had the inane motion to put me in the middle of Jac and her. Crazy over Energy, and got caught quite a number of times for handphone use in class, short socks and short skirts. Judo. PE rep.

Lam Ferly: One of 2 only Malaysian scholars. Interesting girl I used to chat with after school. To my mortification attempted to hug me on last day of school as well as LSC'05. Gave her a stick of balsa wood on last day of school, to her request. Temporarily deafens anyone in the vicinity of her and a CCA mate. Another one of Zheng Lao Shi's target practising people for constant 'reminders'. SJAB.

Lee Jia Ying: Was in the same CCA last year. Loves quoting what I said about the tyrannical cello teacher who refused to take off his shoes when going into the room, and thus lacking self-respect (you've to start by respecting others. Alas, he didn't do so). Especially loves my quote on vegetable vegetating there due to the influence 'The Alchemist' had on me last year. Don't judge a book by its cover suits her, as though rather petite looking, she'll stun anyone by her voice. Once attempted suicide by reading 'Animal Farm' during LA (intelligent enough to quit after that, unlike yours truly). Chinese Orchestra.

Lee See Ting: One of the people I never exactly got to know. Second and last of Malaysian scholars in our class. Rather homesick last year, resulting in constant returns to the boarding school halfway through curriculum time. Tops Chinese half of the time, often almost doubling my score (I get 45, she gets 80/90+). Goes around with Vinette most of the time. Volleyball. Chinese rep (really well deserved).

Lim Pei Rong: Better known as Lim Peh, uncouth as it seems. Tomboy-like, though has an effeminate side she failed to keep under wraps anymore after LSC'05. Fateful person who'd said I've a complicated relationship with Ng, thus sparking off a whole debate (I'm opp, rest of 203 are prop, sadly...) on said topic. Has a passion for books that I like too (merely this and nothing more). Chinese Society.

Lim Shi Ru: First person to get 'friendly' (DONT THINK DIRTY) with DT due to her musical talents. Supposed to have left last year, but is still there, to her own dismay. Founded the 'Weird nicknames generator Co' with co-founder, Marissa Yee. As afore mentioned, musically talented, and is thus planning to furthur musical studies in Germany. Strings. Music Rep.

To be continued... Sorry to all.

Since I'm waiting for the video I'm sending to Melesa to finish transferring, I shall blog here.

Sorry if I sound somewhat irritated... The DVD player's not working, and now Pavarotti's screaming into my ear (headphones) because my brother'd turned the volume up just now. My fault actually, since I'd not the sense to turn it down.

Yanne, IQ tests don't mean a thing... I doubt I'll need to put the whole conversation we had up here.

And I have no idea why people think I've some complicated relationship with Ng... Even Felicia thinks so too. And well, debates is part of English Society, but I'd prefer it if it were regarded separately, though I strongly suspect debates is going to close, since our Teacher-in-charge is leaving, and both coaches have left.

Just something to add: Do go read 'Heart of Darkness' by Joseph Conrad, since you all are so insane over the Watoto (Wah! Toto! Ignore me...) orphan choir.

The horror, the horror.

What a glorious Saturday it is, finally without any rain... And what did I have to do in the morning? Yes, drag my carcass up at 6.45 AM, go all the way to that university, sit there for the whole morning till my ar*e ached, drag my carass home, and thus here I am. We didn't win anything, but I don't feel anything about it anyway, since I'd rather expected it.

Decided to open up my previous blog again, except that now it's purpose is for my convenience (and perhaps your entertainment). I'm using it as something like a fictionpress, except that I'll be posting the satires there instead of here, and the many other creations of mine (not exactly many, but you get the vibe...). I'll probably post it here when I've put up material there, but for now... I shall go do some 'spring cleaning' at that blog.

Here's the url for those who've forgotten, and I've put it up under the links too.

Math competition tomorrow= DOOM. How 'mathematical'...

Since Pam was telling me about how sad she was because of the Watoto (reminds me of Toto...) orphan choir, allow me to comment on the topic.

I found it highly ironic after reading 'Heart of Darkness' by Joseph Conrad. As in, he wrote that whites exploited the blacks and used them as slaves, but what the story was about was that the whites were there to CIVILIZE the blacks. Indeed, that's seen in TKAM as well, when Mrs Merriweather talked about the priest helping the mruna children, or rather CIVILIZING them...

Enough of that, allow me to elaborate on Bao's tag.

Thanks to Sera, my fellow accomplice, operation pigeon hole was completed yesterday. I'd expected some seismic actions to happen due to Ng's exclamation of BIZARRE and INANE objects in her pigeon hole again, and I supposed it happened. Hope she's not offended though, but if Bao's right, then I'll heave a sigh of relief. Wonder if Ng knows that I'd written it...

This is getting nowhere, and is totally BIZARRE and INANE.

And congrats to my OM group for getting the only A! No offence, but I'm really proud, though I found it quite incredible... Seems like it was worth being Timmy, eh Pam? *Smirks*

A few randomly interesting things that happened today:

Early in the morning, my mom woke me up at 7.30, and I grumbled: "It's Saturday, must I wake up so early?' Then, like a flying comet from space, my mom's words jolted me awake. Sadly, it's only Thursday, but another cross goes on my calendar.

Thanks Sera! Let's wait *patiently* for seismic actions to start from N**H tomorrow, when a certain person discovers a certain piece of paper in her pigeon hole. Warning: DO NOT IN ANY CASE REVEAL ANYTHING ABOUT THOSE JOKES. I'll probably become a headless chicken if she knows the 'details' like who wrote it.

And I'll be sleeping in the living room today, since my dad and granny are over here, and granny's got motion sickness. Thus, she's in my room, and I won't disturb her with my raucous laughter while re-reading 'The Dilbert Future' by Scott Adams. And it'll be fun sleeping on the sofa tonight. Ignore me, for I've gone mad, and I'm sure Yanne knows it too, since I started the conversation by saying that David Hasselhoff (from Baywatch) is quite handsome.

My brain's probably gone all awry from the rain. It was pouring and pouring (it never rains but pours) during PE, and the bloody irony of it was that the rain stopped right after the lesson. Well, I continued playing tennis in the rain (though the ball went flat due to the water) since the other girl was brave enough to remain out too. I'll probably get pnuemonia tomorrow, and die of suffocation or some lung problem.

How optimistic indeed.

My comrades, do allow ourselves to observe a pregnant pause for the woman who was the mother of freedom from discrimination.

Rosa Parks has passed on at the ripe age of 92, and it is with great grief that I break this news. The petite, black woman who is famous for her participation in the anti-discrimination acts alongside Dr. Martin Luther King Jnr was pronounced dead, possibly from hypertension and dementia. Her heroic actions have played a major part of the realisation of Dr. Martin Luther King's dreams, and I applaud her for her immensely brave acts. I hereby offer my condolences to those bereaved by the death of the heroine of the 21st century, and bestow upon her the highest honour possible: Order of Merlin 1st class.

That sounds so propaganda like, but it's true: Rosa Parks has passed on. (Yes, I can hear you all cheering about not having anymore essays on her) And Order of Merlin 1st class is from Animal Farm. *Sniggers* The 'brave acts' part of it reminds me of those Mediacorp artistes and their ridiculously life-threatening stunts.

Inane post once more.

10:16 PM

Was just talking to Yanne about 'the Ng' and Yeo's canned drinks. Calling Ng 'the Ng' sounds remotely funny, though like how Yanne so aptly put it, makes it seem like she's a Goddess I'd bow down and worship. Unfortunately, I don't think I deserve even the honour of kissing the ground she walks on, being a poor minion...

Here's a little elaboration on my MSN nick, for those who have been confunded by the great mysteries of my pea brain.

An abstract from crumpled copy of Readers' Digest (Australian edition).

Word Play

When my brother was at university, he tended to use a lot of long words in essays until a professor returned one with the following criticism: "The prolongated application of a polysyllabic vocabulary infallibly exercises a deleterious influence on the fecundity of expression, rendering the ultimate tendency apocryphal."

With the help of a dictionary, we translated this to: "If you use too many long words, nobody will understand what you are talking about."

So well was the lesson learned that I still remember the words half a century later.

-Tony Weston, Ulverstone, Tasmania.

Hmm. Interesting, isn't it?

Bye, bye to my poor pea brain... It's probably over-loaded by that Math competition, of which I nearly caused the group to fail, but well, we still did better than the other group. Imagine my forehead with the neon sign "Danger- Overloaded".

It was pouring today, but we still went on with tennis, though most of the girls whipped out their jackets and sheltered their precious, halo-ed heads from the rain (that would have melted those sculptures (spelling?) of ice) and ran for shelter, only to come out at the promise of ice-cream if they won a game. It seemed like they had merely increased their chances of getting pnuemonia, since no one won the ice-cream. And the whole irony was that they were shouting that it was freezing, yet I'm sure if a tub of ice-cream had landed from outer space, they'd have thrown off their jackets like one of those hunks with the 6 pack abs (that could grate cheese) from the O.C throwing off his already stretched thin shirt onto the sand.

I merely stood in the rain, looked up, got a whole lot of rain water into my already sore eyes (it helped me keep awake though), and sneeze countless times. But rain tastes nice, and I did enjoy it. Hopefully I'll run a temperature/catch a flu/get pnuemonia, and thus get to stay home. Another impossible feat I'll attempt to pull off (and fail to no avail) tomorrow... One has to resign to desperate measures in times like these.

At least the dental appointment has been postponed, but to an even worse date: 24th November, which incidentally, is a day before my birthday. What a great birthday gift... I guess it may be a warning, since I wouldn't be surprised if someone decided to poison the food. (I doubt I'd even be having cake. No bread eat cake! What if there isn't cake even...)

Shall end this inane blog post with this clumsy conclusion (alliteration).

One more thing before I get shooed off:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LAY KUAN AND *cough* NG!

Really, this is nothing but a birthday greeting... *glares at those sniggering away and commenting on my 'complicated relationship' with the latter...*

5:42 PM

Teacher whom/who:

I met in Los Angeles: I apologise for having made your life really difficult, firstly with my horrendous handwriting and choice of pen ink. You're not the first to complain about my handwriting (Ms Yeo said that on my debut Math quiz. Debut's the wrong word, and I'm sure this particular teacher would scream her head off at me for this, but once more, she's probably never going to see it.) and I'm sorry, I didn't, couldn't and wouldn't change it. Sorry for sniggering so frequently, be it appropriate or not. Apologies for all the 'snide' remarks I'd made about you, but really, you got back at me on this too, so I guess we're square? Haha... And I know that the next line sounds really cliched, but well... Your lessons are probably going to stick in my thick cranium forever (yes, it's amazing you got through that wall of junk) and yeah, you're a teacher for a lifetime. (FINE, LAUGH.)

Could not understand my unintelligible Chinese, and thus failed me for Chinese: I shall not attempt to write in Mandarin, as firstly, all sorts of weird symbols would appear since I do not have any Mandarin writing program on my mono-lingual computer, and I'll only make life more difficult for people and myself. That's enough reason. Really, thank you for tolerating my illiteracy in the field of Mandarin, as well as the tough times you had for ploughing through my compositions, that were littered like confetti (at a wedding) with inappropriate words. Also, apologies for not listening to the letter-writing format, and once again, making you suffer severe migraines when marking the 'letters'. Sorry for not listening to you during lessons, and making parodies of the poetry (eg: changing one of the poems in the textbook to a guy being constipated...) as well as misunderstanding what you said and thus resulting in disruption during the lesson (as well as utter humiliation on my part, and a jolt of anger that I'm such a horrible student). I've probably caused you a whole bunch of white hair, as well as cut a few years of your life, and for that, I apologise and thank you for tolerating me.

Petite, adorable teacher whom I never appreciated at all: Yes, that means you, the one who lives in 'Lee-liput'. No, not in Gullivers' Travels, but you get the vibe of it... I'm utter sorry that I'd handed in 3 month late homework, as well as those I'd never handed in. Obviously if you were to pour a pail of water into a cylinder that I'll be in (volume of cylinder: I do not remember), I'll drown. Seriously, if I should thank/apologise to anyone, it would be you. You've stayed back every Friday for an incorrigible idiot like me, and even offered more if I'd been willing to (of course I wasn't...) stay back. I'm sorry I'd disappointed you with my horrible grades in Math (an F9) as I know that I did not try my best (I'm certain I would have at least passed if I'd listened), and once more, my apologies, and you're probably the most patient teacher I've ever met... I know I sound sarcastic like I always do, but I'm not... Same goes to all dedications.

Nearly burst my eardrums: No offence about your extraordinarily loud voice, as if I should blame anyone, it would be the Form Teacher for putting me right in front. It was good that she put me there, for I would never have paid attention if I were left alone at the back... (I used to spend lessons staring at bunsen burners and the beautiful Mrs W*ng in the Science lab...) Thanks for paying attention to me when I asked for help with questions when I was a helpless girl swimming in a whole stack of unintelligible Science worksheets, as well as for accepting my late work. At least it wasn't as bad as the 3 month late ones to the above teacher, but it was still bad... And thanks for the A- for the Science file I never bothered tidying up... I know that there's a high chance that you'd forgotten your glasses/contact lenses, but I wish to just think of it as a mere miracle.

HOL: Not holiday, but *coughHEADOFLEVELcough*... Thanks for not taking offence at this ignorant kid's blog last year, and giving me another chance... If you'd decided to sue me under the sedition act, I'm sure I wouldn't even be here. I'll be stuck in a juvenile delinquent home spending my days washing the toilet with a toothbrush. Nothing much to say about this guy, unless you want something sarcastic/critical.

Chang E: Not the moon fairy... As in, the teacher with that surname. Sorry that I'd infuriated you on countless occasions with my abrasiveness (irony: I hate abrasive people), and I really wish to thank you for your concern... I was obviously too immature to recognise that what you did was all for our/my own good (this sounds propaganda like), but I'd come to realise it when I came to conciousness (pun... Elaboration coming up.) after I'd fainted. I could even have said that you were motherly, but it sounds eccentric on a woman like you... Nothing defaming about that. Indeed, this should go on the teacher I'd met in Los Angeles, but the dedication to that teacher's long enough. Thank you for all your concern, patience (and impatience), and care.

Koh-Koh crunch: You've really given a boost to my confidence in terms of History... Before you appeared, I'd thought that I was destined to score a C for my History, but you've changed that... (This sounds stupid) Indeed, I still think that you mistook my essay for someone else's (for eg: Lay Kuan/Sylvia, whose register numbers are quite close to mine... This contradicts the point of my confidence.) or like I'd said before, forgotten your glasses. Also, apologies for not listening to those 2 MOE visitors, and leaving such a bad impression on them, but really, I'd had no idea what they were talking about as I wasn't present for the previous lessons. (From a mustard -oops- C5 to a B3-> a mark short of an A2, but I'm satisfied...)

Chan-mali-chan: I was a horrible geog rep, with the geog files and many extensions I'd to ask for. Thanks for being so patient anyway, waiting for the worksheets without a grumble. Thanks for improving my geog as well (from a D7 to an A2).

Teo-pets: I am giving stupid names, and apologies... I'm in a rush to get off due to mom's nagging. Thanks for not complaining about my horrible artwork, despite the many paintmarks and squiggles on the drawing block every single time. And apologies for irritating you on a regular basis too...

Ironically, I've said in my previous post that I should appreciate the teachers instead of eternally making satirical jokes out of them. That's all for now... May add on to these, but I'm literally being thrown off the computer...

Here's another paragraph to disprove the point that brevity is wit.

It seems as though my dedications to those teachers are more apologetic than gratifying, and it is really an oxymoron as dedications aren't supposed to be apologies. Apart from that, the sheer irony of hopping from blog to blog and seeing long posts of dedications makes me clutch my already aching diaphragm and whoop with laughter at details of myself I'd never known (see Peirong's blog). HMM...

And here's a preview of the coming 'fairy tales' series of satirical jokes that would seriously contradict my 'appreciation' of the teachers...

1: Puss in Hongzhi (Seriously, this can be related to that incident of the cat being injured... *sniffles*)
2: Little Red Riding 'Soot'
3: The woman who cried 'HUH!'
4: Gul'Lee'ver's Travels -> I know that Gullivers' Travels (Jonathan Swift) isn't a fairy tale, and thus you could say that this is a mix of stories...

That's all that I've got to, considering my imminent death on Wednesday... My Math teacher's going to drag my carcass somewhere for some obscure Math competition. I could go INSANE... Firstly, knowing my Math, one could brand my teacher insane for submitting my name for a competition. Secondly, she did it not only for ONE competition, but TWO. I guess it's not my teacher who'll go insane, but me, as she'll scold me till my brain goes all berserk and starts running like a headless chicken in my head. And the second Math competition is on this Saturday... I'm glad that at least I get to miss Science for the first competition.

That's all.

5:39 PM

Congrats to all on the Captain's Ball Tournament... I was just commenting on what 'apt' names our school gives to events... (Classic example: Lifeskills Camp) As in, what has Captain's Ball have to do with cups, plates and bowls? Only reason I can think of is that people get really hungry after the games... It's almost as random as using teachers' names. (Imagine it being called Mak, Chek and Tieh. Just a suggestion... *Smiles sheepishly at the glares...*) I suppose everyone would rather be forfeited...

Talking about teachers, I guess it's high time for me to appreciate them rather than making satirical jokes on them... As in, they did change my life, be it for the better or the worse. Kidding! I'll probably do something like what Xin Rong did, and I beg the lady's pardon if I do offend her. People out there probably think that I've gone insane, as I'm actually appreciating the teachers. Somehow, that's almost as likely as the end of the world, but well, the end of the world IS likely with bird flu...

And Jiamin, you made me feel like throwing up when you called me 'CUTE LITTLE BABOON' on my tagboard... Answering Xin Rong's question on why people tag: To make others throw up, and thus generate economy with the huge demand on computers.

The supreme pest buster aka my mom (irony: my brother's still alive...) has just taken a MOP in an attempt to kill one of those innocent mosquitoes zooming around in clumps. Really, the next thing she'll do would be using me as a bait. Well, you could call that creativity, using a mop to kill mosquitoes... (she reminds me of Monkey God from 'Journey to the West'. Irony: My supposed nickname [I'm still protesting about this] is baboon.)

Once again, I seek your forgiveness that this whole post does not flow logically due to my random tendencies... To my sheer amazement, I'd passed my history essay with a level 5, which is the highest in class... Not that I am bragging about it, but my mouth flew open as I'd expected to get an ungraded for it. Firstly, it's on Australian soldier's spirits in the war, and as you all know, I am clearly as Australian as Indian. Ironically, I look like an Indian with my tan... Apologies, but the previous line does not hold any malicious comments on racism.

Secondly, I did not study for it, nor cram my allowed page of notes with size 8 text... I'd only used 3/4 of the page with Arial size 12 text, and most of it was sprawled with examples from people unknownst to mere mortals like yours truly.

Really ironically (Ng's going to be so proud of me grasping the concept of irony, and synthesizing it into my post, and the 'chicken jokes'. Perhaps not the latter.), my classmates all only received level 3s and 4s, including this guy who's obsessed with studying. Once more, I'm not bragging, but merely expressing my astonishment (and horror) that teachers here hold stupidity in such high esteem. Quoting what my teacher wrote in it, 'Excellent understanding of examples' as well as 'Great conclusion'. I do not exactly have anything against the former, since Ms Koh would slaughter me if I have not grasped the concept of source-based questions, but the latter seems really contradictory. A great example of this will be the clumsy conclusion that I'll arrive later in this post. I know that this is a bloody logical fallicy, but I've already said that my post does not flow logically.

With that, I shall stop here. (What a 'great' conclusion this is...)

Here's the dedication to the poor adults whose lives have been tormented by me back in you-know-where... For the fear of losing my head, I shall substitute names with fictitious ones... (I'm sure teachers wouldn't see what I'll write anyway, and much as it's a total waste of time, this is just to set my guilty heart at ease.)

As this post is long enough, see next post for the dedications.

Random grumbles from the cantankerous old hag in the bathroom:

I am totally jealous of Jiamin, as she's going to be 15 in about 3 months, and I'm only turning 14 in a month. She's going to get to sit in cinemas watching gruesome movies, while I have to be stuck with movies with PG rating like Finding Nemo.

And Laykuan's (as well as someone else's) birthday is on Monday. Since I've nothing more to rant on this topic, I'll come to a stumbling conclusion: Blame this on my mom and dad. Why couldn't they have done *it* earlier?! Ignore me...

Zeena Tan's coming to Perth for a holiday in November! (Was it, Zeena? Do correct me if I'm mistaken...) If she's coming in December, I'll wring her neck like a rubber chicken... Kidding!

Due to an overwhelming response towards the 'Why did the chicken cross the road' jokes, I may create another series of satirical jokes soon. At least it'll help me get through lessons in school, aka hell... Do send me some feedback/suggestion through my tagboard, email or well, just word of mouth. I know that you people out there are enjoying the random musings like those, but really, I've to live in eternal fear that teachers would happily skip pass this blog and sue me for defamation. The previous line is ficticious... I am NOT afraid at all, as I'd already put up a disclaimer, and did not curse or swear at them.

And it's amazing how many people visit my blog... Zeena, Sheena and Bao... Thanks a lot for supporting this site (and making it crash more. Kidding!)! I really sound like some internet auction website now...

This is total rubbish, but I shall carry on all the same. Like what N*****g 'gerls' ultimate amalgamation is, WHATEVER (credit to Xr).

Reading through Jiamin's blog, it seems like she's worried that people would clobber her for what she says. Jiamin, if you're worried sick, I would be lying on the hospital bed feeding on a tube, with an oxygen mask and life-support machine humming gleefully away next to me. Obviously, this blog has attract quite a lot of attention in the span of 1 year (I'd stopped blogging from March-Oct due to that blogging saga with *you-know-who*... Not Voldemort, but *coughDTcough*...). Involuntary attention most of the time too. Like the afore mentioned example being the blogging saga in school, of which the then moronic me (and still moronic me) was ignorant of the conventional ways of the school... (irony, as they have computers [modern technology] to check on us poor minions' blogs)

Obviously everyone's going to sob their eyes out on Tuesday, when xr's momsie (sorry, I just couldn't resist the temptation) leaves the school forever and ever... Amen. That could be said to be blasphemy, but I don't care. This is seriously not flowing logically...

Digression over... Enjoy yourselves at the botanic gardens feeding the mosquitoes, with Ng's imminent departure (oxymoron)... Do throw someone into the pond alright? And take a picture of that poor person flapping his/her arms in the murky water. *smirks* I'll definitely choose feeding the mosquitoes than sleeping in school though.

It is sad that 203 is going to split up after 2 years of wills and woes (this sounds like the matrimonial vows), but life still goes on, and I'm sure we all would keep those precious memories close to heart... After all, the legacy of 203 will still go on, and like one of Ng's famous quotes, 'Once a N****** 203 girl, forever a N****** 203 girl'. Don't worry, I'll definitely visit you all, though the question still hinges on whether I'll be welcomed. (And whether I'll be (un)fortunate enough to meet teachers who recognise me, as well as if I can find my nametag... Don't want to get punished by *coughDTcough*...)

I've given up on the dedication, since those people who know me well know me enough to know what I'll want to thank them for. Sorry for the excessive use of 'know' in the previous line...

'17)Lim Shu Ning Jolene:Disappeared to "the armpit of the world" after the June Holidays.Enjoys reading, watching movies, writing poems and being sacarstic.Has a complicated relationship with ng.Always giggling during ng's lessons.(Don't think sick)Debater.' - Lim Pei Rong.

Do I actually GIGGLE?! I never knew it... Complicated relationship (Reminds me of adultery and soap operas...). *Shudders* Either I'm having sight problems, or Peirong needs an asylum (no offence).

Why the 'armpit of the world'? As in, Australia's supposedly 'down under', so if it should be anything, it should be the crotch or something. Fine, I'm being perverse...

And Jiaying kind of flooded my tagboard... Seriously, what Peirong said about LSC 2004 sent this wave of nostalgia down my tree trunk of a body. And talking about my debut post: It's rubbish, but I'm just keeping it there as a reminder of how much I've moved on. I regret deleting most of my posts... From March-November, the posts are GONE. With the exception of September, for no reason...

It's somewhat amazing how much 203 has grown as a class... From LSC 2004, Ms Teo's departure, Ng's enigmatic arrival (haha... V.S Naipaul mania), LSC 2005, me leaving (this is so insignificant), then now, Ng, Laykuan and Ms Lee have left/are leaving.

Oh ho. Imagine if teachers came here, since freedom of speech can only be found on toilet walls (but it's going to be a 'has-been' thing soon as well).

8:50 PM

Quoted from the 'The Straits Times' article, 'Sec 1: Top schools still have over 50% of places - Oct 19 2005'.

'N****** said it had planned to offer more places, but had to make sure that incoming students could 'handle the rigours of the curriculum', said Ms Chi Pin Lay, dean of marketing and information.'

Imagine my face now... Cramped up into a laugh like I'd just had a botox.

Friday, October 21, 2005

You all know it already, don't you? Ng's leaving... And well, I knew it abou 3 weeks ago but was told to keep it silent.

I found this quote that's really true about a teacher... 'The best teacher is the one who suggests rather than dogmatizes, and inspires his listener with the wish to teach himself.' -Edward G. Bulwer-Lytton. Good teachers are so hard to come by, yet most of the time, we never notice how much an impact a teacher has left on us until it is too late, as we do in life. At times, we may not even see him/her again, and in my case, I've experienced that before with my Primary 6 Chinese teacher who has gone back to China. The little ironies of life...

I'm holding out for a hero, but my superman is not in sight at all... All I'm holding out for at the moment is Dec 8th, when I finally get to go back. I doubt I'll ever want to come back here after that. I doubt I'll want to do anything. I still haven't found the purpose of my life, and it's not helping with my family in a total mess, school being hell, frequent bouts of sickness and depression. Obviously, even if I died at home, my mom would wait 6 months till the insurance she's spending A$311.04 on will start to cover me. After all, I am a teenager as well (though I act more like a 2 year old) and I need fun instead of solving my mom's problems like what chocolate I gave to visitor's kids. I'm tired of school work, and I'm not doing any homework at home at all. Just rushing through it all in school, unlike what I used to do, which was stay up till about 11 at night to finish some LA homework or History essay.

Sometimes, I just feel like running and running, escaping from reality with my mind. It's been proven impossible, as my mom doesn't give me that space to do so, and neither do the people in school. The former interrupts with questions like where the lights in our (rather HER) new house are positioned, and the latter: You get the vibe.

I miss the times when I could just stand for an hour gazing out at the empty quadrangle, at the gradually brightening sky of imperfect blue... I need that freedom, that peace... I have to form that niche, a place where I can seek solace in. Unfortunately, what happens around me doesn't have this written down in the culture. It's irony, since coming here is supposed to give me more freedom. But, unfortunately, people here do not respect your needs for 1: Intellectual stimulation 2: Peace 3: Intrapersonal matters etc. It bothers me... I'm more of an introvert (yes, yes, gape...), and I need a lot of time to recharge. With all these trivialities, I don't get my breathing space. What more, my mom doesn't care about what I say at all, but expects me to listen to her. Family problems, society, the war in my head, existential problems. What more could I ask for?

Anyway, replies to tags:

Jiamin: YES, I do say so... As in, I'll probably destroy everything like what I always do...
Sheena: HAHA! Of course I remember... (We nearly got poisoned by Mrs Teo, and thrown off the clock tower by Ng...) It's surprising how many people actually visit my blog... Thanks anyway! Miss you all tons too... :(
Peirong: Yes, I do have it... The live version because I can hear screaming girls in the background, but all the same, it's good. Do remind me when you see me online.
Sera: I'll try... You cheer up too...
Faus: Hey! How're you?
Yanne: Haha... Thanks! And hi too...
Jiamin (again. haha...): I know that you're insane... And I don't want to get married because I don't want commitments. Scalp?! I am hyperventilating... Nose? I've fainted... And yes, I'm 165cm. Too bad!
Sars: I know that too... Obviously my brain's been rusting happily away. Thanks for your feedback!
Karene: Cheer up alright? Results aren't the end of the world... Like what Mark Twain said, 'Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.' Don't care about results, as they won't really take you far.

That's all, and it's already 11.55 PM. Shall go play Solitaire, despite my mom's displeasure at anything associated with cards.

11:32 PM

Once more, thanks to Pam who had sent me her 'A Beautiful Mind' DVD, and which I had received yesterday.

Finally it's the weekend... It seems almost an eternity till weekends come, though it's not the case for you people, since well... It's the last day that 203's together next week. With people leaving (and having left already), it's rather sad that I won't get to watch you all at choral night, nor join you all on the last day of school. Ah well... Doubt I'll be welcomed anyway.

Bob Carlisle's 'Butterfly Kisses' is so heart wrenching and sweet (oxymoron)... Sigh.

Why isn't anyone online?

Anyway, I'm currently not in the mood to blog, and shall thus go off.

This post shall be dedicated to my current History teacher's excellent teaching. Her words have penetrated my thick skull and managed to allow my brain to capture the wisps of wisdom that she'd uttered on epidemics and plagues.

The end of the world.

Announcement to all Earthlings: The end of the world has been estimated to occur on the 6th of December 2050. Recently, scientists in Antartica have made a sky-rocking discovery that a pandemic is currently affecting the entire Earth. Following the symptoms of bovine stares, immaturity and a great long list (please enquire at the Antartica Research Association. Address not supplied), scientists have concluded that the plague is nothing but a serious case of SARS, simply known as Severe, Acute, Reckless Stupidity. The plague has been found to be fatally contagious, and it is spread by little cells from people infected corroding others. Only ways currently suspected to work to avoid being affected are:

1: Going to church to pray.
2: Carrying bags of garlic around.
3: Isolating yourself from humans of all kind.

The method most tested to work is still the first option, thus we recommend this method to you. Or perhaps you could move over to Antartica, as we're short of people for next year's World Cup Football competition, and would appreicate it if people would join us. Thank you.

How stupid can I get... Been feeling rather depressed for the whole day. First started with meditation during Religious Education. Obviously, the people here are not mature enough to do meditation, or for the matter, show enough respect to allow others to do so. There was this boy who was clucking his tongue like it were the end of the world (pun intended), and laughing and giggling with his friend. I'm certain even kindergarten kids can behave better than them.

Been feeling really demoralized about this school, with the syllabus etc... I just can't find my niche, or even a quiet spot... Even if I do find one, I'm sure there'll be a teacher marching up to me and bereft me of my peace. It's almost like in 1984 (George Orwell), where there is no where you can hide that you can't be found or seen...

All of it's just tearing me apart bit by bit, limb by limb... And all I can do is helplessly scream in agony to the sky of ink above me... Perhaps I am just suffering from the 'adapting-to-a-new-environment' syndrome, as adults call it. Haha...

How morbid this is. I sure miss N**H, as at least there's intellectual stimulation unlike the school here. At least we don't watch 'CINDERELLA STORY' for a lesson on stereotypes. I could really just break down and cry. All this on top of the existential (sp?) problems, parents quarrelling, society etc... I am EXHAUSTED, and I just don't want to go on.

Anyway, to Yanne: Tell Mr Chan that he must NEVER allow the school to remove debates... If it's the funds, tell him that I'll leave all the money I have (though it isn't much. My dad took it all away.) for debates. Just tell him to wait till February next year...

Just depressed, that's all. And I've to drag my bloody carcass to school tomorrow. I am not going to do my homework, and let it be that way. I don't give a d*mn at all, and those teachers can just call my parents and add another $0.40 to their phone bill (more for my dad who's in Singapore). Ultimately, it's added to the school fees, so well... Another Catch-22 syndrome. Ignore me. I'll probably remove all this dreary bullsh*t in a day or two, when I get 'better' (meaning when I lose more of myself).

Adding on to the chicken jokes:

Mrs Teo: It crossed the road because it didn't want to be loved by me... (Remember the 'da shi teng, ma shi ai' incident? It's vividly imprinted on my pea brain...)
Mrs Wong (Physics): Because someone wanted to 'soot' it...

Anyway, Sars, I agree that it's stupid. I'd only done it as I was extremely bored. So you can see how boredom acts as a catalyst to degenerate my brain?

And my computer just has to hang on me when I'm chatting with Sars and Karene. Seriously, I'd have strangled it long ago if it had a neck. Fortunately it doesn't, or my dad would do the same to me (for wasting his hard-earned money).

Forgive me if I do sound insane (yes, Jiamin, I will forgive you since I am insane too. Haha!), for Peirong has just told me about the TIME MAGAZINE TOP 100 NOVELS (from 1923- now?) and due to the major breakdown my computer had. My hair's visibly less now...

I want the 'Time' magazine and 'Readers' Digest'! Unfortunately, as I'd told Peirong, poor minions (aka me) can't afford expensive magazines like those. Blame it on 'National Geographic'. I'd rather spend that money on 'Time'. Hmmph.

Maybe I'll persuade my dad to allow me to use his credit card as I doubt Time would bother licking overseas stamps and bringing them to the overseas post box. As for Readers' Digest, alas, I'll have to settle for Time.

Anyway, here're the websites for All Time Top 100 Novels, as well as All Time Top 100 Movies before I forget.

All Time Top 100 Novels.
All Time Top 100 Movies.

I apologize to Peirong, whom I fear was frightened off by my incessant ramblings in CAPS about books that were familiar to me, and which I liked. I am thoroughly amazed that none of Ray Bradbury's books are there, and neither are Aldous Huxley's... And Faulkner's most renowned book (to me at least) 'As I lay Dying' didn't get in, while 2 of his other books got in... Interesting.

'ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST' (Ken Kesey) IS IN THOUGH! AND SO IS '1984' (George Orwell), and 'BELOVED' (Toni Morrison. I remember Sars saying it was boring as I was reading it on the MRT)!!! I am going to print the list out, put one under my pillow and smooch it, put one in all my files and everything that I have. Kidding. I AM printing it out, but not doing it to that extreme. Schindler's List is in the Top 100 Movies! And so is Raging Bull (ROBERT DENIRO! [sp?]). The Godfather Parts 1 and 2 are in too, though Part 3 isn't, sadly. To Peirong: Yes, Star Wars is in too, so you can jump up and whoop for all you wish, as long as it doesn't cause earthquakes. To XinRong: LOTR is in too, so you too, can jump and sing all you wish. Finding Nemo is actually in, while 'Saving Private Ryan' isn't... Neither is 'The Passion of the Christ'. Hmmph.

Actually, I'd thought that 'Sophie's World' (Jostein Gaardner) and 'I am the King of the Castle' (Susan Hill) would be in the Top 100. 'Gone with the Wind' is of course in. And so is TKAM, Lord of the Flies, Animal Farm and LOTR (scream Xr, scream).

I've to go before my mom screams at me. Hmmph.

3 words before I start: I am exhausted. So, I'd recommend that you read this post quickly, for I'm sure it will not flow logically.

I must say that the supermarket opposite the current alien breeding place (aka school) I am attending is jinxed. I've already seen 3 of the most gigantic aliens (better known as teachers) there. What an omen...

Quiz removed. Haha, too bad! It's gone forever, because neither do I have a copy of it!

That's all.

Peirong: Haha! Thanks!
Irene: Thanks too! Yeah, I do, for target practising. Haha! Nah, just want it for keepsake, as well as to spam Claire with... *Evil laugh*
Jiamin: What do you mean by how did I find out? I didn't ask the teachers the question obviously, though I wouldn't mind emailing a few... Haha! And you're more than welcome to use my ideas as long as you credit me.
Sars: Apologies... Will put up Mrs Teo's as soon as I'm up to it... Tired, and it's not helping with the stupid butterflies flitting around in my stomach due to school tomorrow...
Faus: Haha! Irene just said that she likes it.
Irene: See above. Haha!
Yanne: If you must, blame my mom. Don't blame me. :D

And here's one of Salvador Dali's works. One of my favorite artists, probably for his morbid pictures. Haha!

10:33 PM

Another week of terror awaits me tomorrow. In fact, the weekend has been horrible, since my carcass was dragged out by my brother at 6.30 AM, yes, AM. Where to? Fishing, of all things. I wouldn't have minded at all if it were a book sale or art gallery, but of all places, fishing. And today, I've had to drag my carcass through that poetry essay, of which I'd been procrastinating for about a month. It's due tomorrow, and of course I don't want teachers ringing my mom up like it were some NKF donation (doubt many would call though. NKF? For gold-plated taps? No way.) hotline, with my amazing stunt of not completing my homework. I'm certain I'll flunk it, but I'm intending to use it to chuck it into the bin (unfortunately, I don't have any pet to line the basket of. It would cause the poor pet to constipate and die if I did in any case do that anyway.) after getting it back, since I really detest the sight of it (pain in the ar*e). Yes, despite the fact that the song I did it on was by R.E.M. What a pity, and sheer waste of a bright, beautiful Sunday afternoon...

And I am hyperventilating as BOB DYLAN has a new book on him! It's called 'THE BOB DYLAN SCRAPBOOK 1956-1966', but what a waste, a churchmouse like yours truly would never be able to spend $80 (excluding GST, mind you) on a book. All the same, it's going on my wishlist, but I'll probably have to strike lottery. Another book would be 'Poetry Speaks', edited by Elise Paschen and Rebekah Presson Mosby (I have no idea who these obscure people are. Maybe I am the ignorant one here...). It costs even more than the Bob Dylan book, at a pocket-ripping price of $89.95 (once again, excluding GST). It's a collection of poems, and I guess I shouldn't bother getting it since I can read those poems on the Net.

I'm looking for 'The Lame Shall Enter First' by Flannery O'Connor. Yes, the book from which that fateful excerpt was taken for the LA unseen prose EOY. I've read a little of it, and the boy (the one spreading peanut butter on the stale cake) called Norman hanged himself. Reason being that Rufus (the one with his mother in the state prison, or penitentiary) told him that if he killed himself young, he would be able to see his mother in heaven. Rufus is a religious fanatic as his grandad, who'd raised him, was that way. The name of the book is actually what Rufus believes in, which is that the lame shall enter heaven first. Rufus has a club-foot, for those who've forgotten...

More about the essay, since I've nothing better to talk about. I'd started doing it at 4 PM, and as usual, yours truly was undecisive, and was ploughing through a whole load of song lyrics until she'd gone cross-eyed. And when it was 6 PM, the time for my daily dose of 'The Simpsons' (with the exception os Saturdays), I was so torn between rushing to the sofa, plonking my sore butt on the soft cushions and observing the 'couch potato code of order' and finishing my essay. If you imagine me trasvestied, you'd see me pop-eyed with this angel at my right ear, and a Homer Simpson-like devil next to my left ear. As you know, being a good, conscientious girl who demands high quality work for every single piece of homework (believe it or not, Ng said that in my testimonial. I'd had a really bad stomach ache after reading that, since anyone who knows me knows that I'd had 3 month late Math homework.), I'd chose to run to the sofa and exercise my bereft thumb. When I'd spinned the remote control like in James' Bond, and to my chagrin, having to bend over and pick it from the floor, the screen came to life, and lo and behold! There was a news reader there instead of Homer Simpson and his family. I guess Homer Simpson got tired of waiting for me.

And I've heard that Ms Lee's left the school. It's sad, since ex-N* girls can't stand present ones. I know that I am seriously stereotyping here, but I myself haven't been the best to Ms Lee, and somewhere deep down in my intestines, there is a good part of me (that's been covered in bile already anyway) that has been squirming with guilt. I've mentioned that I've actually had 3 month late Math homework... It was worksheet 3.3 if I am not mistaken. Ms Lee was really patient, but unfortunately, me being such a numb-skull and insensitive insane idiot, I did not realise it till it was too late. And I'd only handed the worksheet in because I did not want Mdm Mak or any of the management to call me to the gallows through the PA system due to my worksheet-bereft Math file. I'd done that for Science too, and to my amazement, I'd got an A-...

Wonder what would happen if Ng left. I'm sure Claire would snuggle up to her darling and sob all over her. Haha!

I'd better run off before Claire attempts murder...

Jiamin: Is that supposed to substantiate your love for Ng? LA= Language arts...
Yanne: It is 25th Nov... What an insult. Ng's rumoured birthday (credits to 2/8) is on the 25th Oct... Haha! Kidding.
Claire: I was asking it for you, since you're too shy when it comes to your darling...
Jiamin: No, I do not LOVE her. Love is the wrong word here, so there goes 2 marks from your essay. I probably only respect and like (I guess) her.
Faus: Thanks! And an about one-year early birthday to you too! (Haha...)
Yanne: Haha! HISTORY. I was just looking at how much I've matured (more like I've grown more childish), and thought it was quite amusing...
Sars: Mrs Tieh's is there... Or do you mean to credit you for the suggestion?

Anyway, I've just realised that I haven't done one on the honourable Mrs Teo... How unlikely could it have been for me to forget her, after she gave me all those (un)pleasant surprises such as HUGS, smacks and the likes. Hmmph. Shall go continue on the jokes now.

Hmm... Finally managed to work the archive. I've failed for all my blogging history (stares at Yanne) till now, and I still haven't exactly succeeded. It's really bad.

Anyway, I am exhausted, so shall put those 'Why did the chicken cross the road?' jokes that I'd been working on last night. Haven't worked on them yet. I will be accepting personal requests too...

Mrs Ng: It crossed the road to cluck to the other 'ah-soh hens'.... *pauses* Is this supposed to be irony?

Zheng Lao Shi: Ji gan ma yao guo lu? (why would a chicken cross the road?)

Mdm Mak: The chicken was 'qing shen duan pu', having morals to cross the road, instead of you irresponsible 'gerls'... Anyway, if it didn't cross the road, we will write to the ST forum to 'comprain'...

Ms Lee: *stares* It is DISTANCE OVER SPEED AND TIME. What's the distance, speed and time you didn't say. So this question is INVALID.

Ms Lye: The chicken crossed the road because the mitochondria in it were over-active, and it needed food. Now, draw me a diagram of a mitochondria...

Chen lili lao shi: (translated) Chickens have to run around since they haven't learnt the NZQ and Mo Li Hua from me for exercise, so it crossed the road. Hmm... Remind me to teach it later.

Mr Derek Tan: It ran because it didn't wear its name tag, and it saw me... And it didn't chicken bow to me. Hmmph. Where is it now?

Mrs Shirley Lee: Oh... You saw it? I was about to catch it for my chicken curry, but it took flight...

Mrs Tieh (Requested by Sars): The chicken wanted to have a good 'thumb' (time). So, what are you doing here in curriculum time? There might be a fire, and we might not be able to find you... (I'd actually wanted to write about the 'rape' incident she'd told us about, but alas... It would be too crude for your sensitive eyes. Kidding!)

Mr Tang (Requested by Faus. Be reminded that I am accepting personal requests): It ran because it saw the gigantic purple ball (the one in the music room) going after it, and thought it was from 'War of the Worlds'. Stupid chicken... Back it up! And break a leg when you find it...

Ms Koh: It crossed the road to escape from the Japanese. That is the answer, and you need 2 points to back up your answer to get a level 3. And don't forget your substantial evidence...

Mdm Toh: Because it was a crackpot... (Insider joke for those in my OM group)

Mrs Chan: My dear GEOG REP, it didn't have a road to cross... In the olden days, undeveloped countries did not have roads... They lived in suburban villages, and had no cages whatsoever...

Ms Ong (PE): Why? Because Eunice Aw hit one of its eggs into the HCI swimming pool... So it had to go there to get it.

Cao Lao Shi: (Translated) You students were too noisy, and it got frightened off... AN JING! You have no morals at all... Tsk tsk...

That's all for now. I am EXHAUSTED.

Hmm... I guess that's the end of the issue (silly parody [pun intended!] of REM's 'The end of the world') then. And the irony of it all, as Pam'd kindly alerted me last night, is that we're quarrelling when it's the last performance 203 has. So let's just leave everything behind. *Smiles. No, it is not a smirk even though I always look like I am smirking.*

And I don't blame anyone for this whole thing, since it was but a mere misunderstanding. Some people probably think that I was biased initially, since Sera is a good friend of mine, but I did read both scripts. Let's drop the subject anyway.

School was so boring today, I was occassionally banging my head against the table. No, not from frustration, but from sleeping. As you all know, I always sleep in class, but this is the first time I really fell asleep. Tells a lot, doesn't it... Of course, I've never tried doing this in Ng's lesson, for if my head had fallen on the table, she'd have chopped it up.

That's all I guess.

To all who were offended: I am not going to apologize, but I know that I did nothing, and all I said was that choral night is singing and dancing. By the way, parodies are SUPPOSED to be superficial. I did nothing but say that, and I merely said that I'd thought group 2's script was good. I do not know why there is such a big hoo-haa about this, but I did not mean anything malicious. And it's up to you to judge whether I miss 203 or not, and I do not care about what you think about whether I care about 203 or not, because those who understand me know what I mean. And I DID NOT in any way say that group 1's script WASN'T GOOD. It is GOOD, funny, humurous etc... (I am NOT being sarcastic), but group 2's was good too.

I am sorry if you mistook me, but I do not apologize for me saying that. If you write a parody and want me to say it's deep, I am sorry, it is against me to do so. The nature of parodies, as I've already mentioned, is superficial and humurous, meaning 'singing and dancing'. I am sorry that you've either 1: Not listened to Ng on parodies/irony 2: Not grasped fully the concept of parodies 3: Mistook my intentions. I suppose it's the 3rd, but it's not your fault, since you all suppose I am just some bitter old hag who has nothing better to do, and can't 'MYOB'.

But still, I congratulate you on being so passionate about it(I am sorry if I do in any case come across as sarcastic and hypocritical). But I hope that personal preferences are not against the law? I know that both scripts are as different as the North and South pole in terms of the genres, but as you've known me, I do not like parodies performed much, though I do enjoy it for its humour etc. And I am sorry if you can't take the fact that I would choose something more close to me (since you all know I am against war) then a parody, but I do hope that you understand that my intention is just to highlight that both groups were good, but I prefered group 2's script, and I am in no way casting any group into a 'bad light. You could say that I am the 'brainless bozo', since it has nothing to do with me, and as you've so aptly put it, I should 'MYOB'. But, as it was MY class too (look at the 'was', since you all don't take me as part of it anymore), I am entitled to my own opinion. I am not going to argue about the 'this-is-my-blog, you-can-get-lost' business, but I just want you people to know that I am in no way putting either group down, though I don't deny having preferences.

I know that you people are very passionate about it, so I guess everything that I've typed here would not make any sense, since what I've done has gone against your values, and you have gone stark raving mad on my blog.

And just something to add. Just because you've worked hard, doesn't mean that the whole world hasn't, so stop thinking that the world only revolves around you. This is probably going to start a whole new 'drama' (pun fully intended) again, but it's just my 2 cents worth of thoughts, and you can ignore my ignorant rants for all you like, for I am just wasting air time (copyrighted FYI).

What a long rant. My breath's almost gone. Shall blog about school tomorrow. I am EXHAUSTED.

Drama results are out. Congrats to the first half, for you've gotten the job for the English Choral Night performance. As for the second half, I thought your script was good, but ah well... Choral Night is more for 'singing and dancing'...

Good on you people... Exams are over. When my school starts tomorrow... The holidays have been boring anyway. No purpose at all.

Oh well.

Feeling rather frustrated and exhausted after playing some mind game that Sera recommended. Patience is a virtue, but you could say that I lack that one virtue- and many others too.

I swear I am going insane. Firstly, my computer's driving me NUTS. It's been hanging itself, refusing to eat (as in, play my DVDs) etc. Talk about going insane, my computer is a hell of a testimonial.

Secondly, school is re-opening it's gates of hell in about a day's time. Revenge of the Sith School indeed... May the farce be with you anyway.

And the computer had better work tomorrow, because I have to return the DVDs on TUESDAY, when school reopens too. Urrgh.

Shall go off to try to get the thing to work, but I am sure it won't.

Jiamin: I think I'd prefer pushing her into some swimming pool... I'll leave the kissing to you. *Sticks tongue out* They already know my views on the school, and (un)fortunately, I haven't told anyone about my blog in that school. It's unsettled because you had ACCOMPLICES. Hmmph!
Sars: Yes, he is that person with the holier-than-thou attitude. You probably ripped it off from the person Jiamin is going to kiss? Of course, I mean Ng... I am jealous of you people, since my school starts on TUESDAY when your EOYs end... *Narrows eyes*
Thanks for the books! I'll return you the money that I owe you when I get back... 8th of December, here I come!

I'm only here because I'm tired of looking at Chief Bromden from the movie 'One flew over the cuckoo's nest' practise lip-moving and miming. You see, the whole room is humming with the vacuum cleaner's voice. Urrgh.

I am crazy over Christina Aguilera's 'The Voice Within', and of course, Don McClean's 'American Pie'. The former reminds me of that Roosevelt quote "Nothing to fear but fear itself (yourself for this matter)". On the 2nd, my ignorant brother proudly proclaimed that it reminded him of those Bangladash (sp?) workers in a straight line, slogging their guts out in the sun. Shows how intellectual R* boys are. I guess I am sadly stereotyping those poor people, and that there ARE really brilliant people in that school (know this from experience.), but I got quite irritated by my brother.

And Jiamin still hasn't accepted my dare... What's the dare? To hug Ng. *Sniggers* I doubt a dare's even needed for it actually. *Dodges Jiamin's sailing fist* But I have NEVER kissed anyone, so there! It won't be an exception here.

Anyway, here are my resolutions.

1: Self-entertain myself during lessons. As you can see from my MSN nickname, 'It is better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.' That's actually by Mark Twain, and I like Mark Twain! Don't get me started naming all the poets I like... *Robert Frost, Emily Dickinson, Wilfred Owen, E.E Cummings, Sylvia Plath (DIE TED HUGHES), Walt Whitman.... I shall stop before you people go crazy.)
2: Resist all temptations to shout at teachers/peers no matter what. I shall bear all the mental torture and stupidity for just another 2 months, even though I am having SCHOOL on my birthday for the first time *curses* I swear I will crack sooner or later with all the stupidity. Really demoralized, but I'll try to keep my spirit up by observing the first resolution.
3: NOT study at all. Just tired of studying and of everything, so I am just going to do what I like, and not bother about studying. Since I can ace my exams all the same, what's the point? As I've said, I am really demoralized.
4: Not do things that go against my values. Just a little follow-up to the 'poetry (song lyric) essay'. I've managed to find some obscure singer called 'Sydney Forest' who sang ROBERT FROST'S 'The road not taken'. I could have shrieked in jubilation. And so I did.

Anyway, I'd better not write on that any longer or it'll grow increasingly offensive. Here's something I found interesting.

'In freedom of the press, Singapore is ranked a dismal 98th out of 104.' -Chua Mui Hoong, Straits Times Oct 7th, 2005.

Just finished reading her column, and I am like yes, I agree! F.Y.I, the column is 'Why primary and health ranked so low'. I like her columns... (Beside those that talk about manicure/slimming. I was aghast initially when I saw those articles.) And I like Tay Yek Keak's too.

Inane.

Mom's dragging my carcass out already. So bye, bye Ms Singaporean roti prata (Silly parody of 'Bye, bye Ms American Pie). *Smirks*

And sorry that I'd frightened you, Pam, last night, when I told you about grizabella (from Cats the musical). I was probably seeing too much into the bird-like cat (I'd said that perhaps it was supposed to say that she's prey to herself, and quoted that Roosevelt quote), and I guess to quote Sigmund Freud, sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. That's all, and apologies once more.

What I have been doing for the holidays:

1: Sleep, sleep and sleep. I sure didn't break the couch potato code of order... Kidding! I dreamt really, really weird dreams/nightmares, including having a LANGUAGE ARTS lesson, and Ng showing us 'Saving Private Ryan', then me and Zeena sitting at some obscure staircase crying our eyes out. I don't know what possessed me to dream that. I laughed myself silly when I awoke.

2: Emailing. Somehow, last week, my computer just had to go nuts, and I'd started sending out blank emails. Some people (actually only a *certain* person) thought that I'd become speechless after reading their (her, for that matter) email. Indeed, I was, but I did reply to the email.

3: Spending my time on this blog. I'd added some rubbish to it, including a list of things that I love and hate, as well as a brief introduction of myself, before I contract the 'stupidity bug'. See the description for more details.

4: Reading. List of the books I've read/re-read: Tuesdays with Morrie (Mitch Albom), The Great Gatsby (Scott F. Fitzgerald. Fabulous book.), 1984 (George Orwell. I just love this book.), Catch 22 (Joseph Heller. Interesting book... Littered with wit and humour. Name of book has been passed into today's figure of speech as a 'no-win' situation.), Paradise Lost (John Milton. Yes, that long, long poem on Adam and Eve. I became cross-eyed after reading it, but I've finally gotten down to accomplishing this seemingly impossible feat, and I am very proud of myself.), Fahrenheit 451 (Ray Bradbury. Still like this book. First read it during LSC this year *smirks*.), Brave New World (Aldous Huxley. Sars reminded me about this book sometime ago, and I got down to reading it again.), Doors of Perception (Aldous Huxley. I like his books... Interesting point of views, and of course, cynicism.), Heart of Darkness (Joseph Conrad. Skimmed through it in May this year, since I was too caught up with some matters at that time.). What a long, long list...

5: Watched/Re-watched (I like doing things again, since you have new insights on the same matter because of different circumstances.) movies/DVDs. QUIDAM (Cirque Du Soliel. *Evil laugh* Envy me you mortals, I'd finally found the DVD of this. Watched the live show too.), Big Fish (Tim Burton. I really like this movie. Intend to buy it when I get back to Singapore.), Saving Private Ryan (Steven Spielberg. The reaction is like what I said in that dream- I ended up crying. Lack of humanity/war etc makes me really depressed. I guess it's just a phase immature teens go through.), Angela's Ashes (Book adaptation of Frank McCourt. I can't rake up the memory of who directed the movie... It kind of reminded me of Gone with the Wind. I guess it's the Irish lifestyle etc.), The Last Emperor (Bernardu Bertolucci. I haven't heard of him till this movie... The movie reminded me of this documentary I'd watched on the Forbidden City, as well as the school's bureaucratic system.), The Passion of the Christ (Mel Gibson. Cried buckets too. Hmmph.). As you've noticed, most of the movies are M15+, but do I give a damn? Neither does my mom, so... Out with the ratings!

I guess that's all I've done in the holidays. Pretty much just remained a couch potato, and it isn't that interesting, is it? I'd think EOYs would be much more exciting... At least you get the thrill of thinking you failed your exams, but passed. The euphoria of it is unexplainable... At least it's unpredictable, unlike the useless exams I have here, of which I can spend the whole day on the computer without touching my textbooks and still pass. (Even when I am unaware of an exam. Tell me how unpredictable it is. I guess as unpredictable as a dead man's heartbeat?)

That's all the rantings of the day. Will probably write my resolutions for going back to school tomorrow, though it won't be much.

10:33 PM

Bye bye, Ms American Pie, Drove my chevy to the levee but the levee was dry.

That song has gotten through my thick skull and it's resonating within the walls of my cranium. I never knew that a song tribute could be so deep... My eyes were glued to the screen when I first saw the lyrics... The song was by Don Mclean, as a tribute to his good friend Buddy Holly who died on Feb 2nd 1959 in a plane crash due to a snowstorm in Iowa... 2 other musicians died too (can't remember who. They were quite prominent at that time), and since the world got the news on Feb 3rd, that day is called 'The day music died'. Interesting eh?

Yanne, it's not 'cirque de soliel', but 'cirque DU soliel'. FYI, it's a circus that's performing (has performed?) Quidam in Singapore...

Re-reading 'Tuesdays with Morrie' in depth... Skimmed through it twice, and so I've resolved to give my bereft mind some knowledge to soak up. Shall type an abstract from the book which I think is interesting later.

The dental checkup yesterday left an imprint, both metaphorically and literally, on me. It's branded the word 'fear' in place of 'dental appointments' in my mind, and left a cut in my gums. Ouch...

I am sure you people are rejoicing that finally I have to shut up. Hmmph.

Here's the abstract.

'It is 1979, a basketball game in the Brandeis gym. The team is doing well, and the student section begins a chant, "We're number one! We're number one!" Morrie is siting nearby. He is puzzle by the cheer. At one point, in the midst of "We're number one!", he rises and yells, "What's wrong with being number two?"

The students look at him. They stop chanting. He sits down, smiling and truimphant.'
-Tuesdays with Morrie, Mitch Albom.

Summarizes on what I've always been saying about competition.

To Yanne: Sanctity (of life) is vanity. This sure proves that brevity is wit...

Been busy writing some poetry on my part due to utter boredom. Don't exactly feel like uploading anything on Fictionpress... Apologies, Claire.

Anyway, replies to tags.

Jiaying: Perhaps there was a typo... It shouldn't be bird, but cactus... I guess the bird should be pitied if it were eating someone else's cactus. Haha! Don't exactly like birds because I like cats. *Smirks* You get what I mean about the purpose of life? And it's alright to flood my tagboard, as long as you don't overdo it (meaning not more than 5 long posts). Flooding could even be welcome, as long as it's not something inane like what's going on on Pam's blog.
Sars: Haha... How much did 'The Lovely Bones' and 'The King of the Castle' cost? I owe you the money... I'll probably only borrow it when I get back, so don't worry, you can grab me by the collar and demand it back if I do in any case forget.
Pam: Perhaps they are nice... I guess you could get me one if you want to cheer me up. KIDDING. I don't like Happy Meals... So how's the movie?

That's all I guess. Go look at this website... It's on sociology, and it's really interesting (talks about blogging etc). Click Here!

The Evil Curse of the Golden Arches

Just some random musings.

Was out looking around at the shopping centre today, and I was happily sitting at the food court eating, when this small girl of about 4 years of age sat there screaming with elation and anticipation at the sight of her Happy Meal. She eagerly snatched the colourful and visually-appealing box from her older sisters (I presume), and reached her small, stubby hand into the box, fishing out an obscure white bag. Since I do not buy Happy Meals (unlike Timmy), mere mortals like myself were still unaware of which toy's the fad. It turned out to be those 'Made in China' Neopets stuffed toys laced with dust (I get sneezing attacks from them).

It just evoked fond memories of my childhood (yes, I DO have a childhood...), the bawling and pampered me in the good ol' days. I used to have those kiddy piano and ballet (yeah, yeah... Laugh at the thought of me in some pink tutu pointing my puny toes.) at the Yamaha in Marine Parade, and my dad would walk me over to the Mcdonalds right opposite the studio after every lesson.

It's amazing how typical parents like my dad would willing spend about $5 on a useless Happy Meal Toy. Perhaps it's to shut noisy children like yours truly up, but a more sensible answer would be that parents like yours and mine just wish to give their children a slice of 'Heaven'.

Anyway, the first sight that probably greets you when you step into Mcdonalds would probably be estatic children with oily fingers clutching on desperately to their french fries and God-knows-what. Maybe, when I become one of those bitter, middle-aged adults, I'll look disdainfully on at my child and go 'What's the bloody use of that toy?', chuck it into the bin, and buy him/her (if I do in any case get married or live till then) a book or some DVD.

I guess the next generation of children are going to break the existing world records of the heaviest person, with this incessant consumption of fast food, be it KFC (I hate those plastic chickens posing in ludicrous positions. They're of no use except to throw at people.), Burger King or God-knows-what, since it is evident in the movie 'Super Size Me', where this typical man eats Mcdonalds every single day for a month, and becomes obese. So ultimately, are parents doing the right thing? I don't think so...

Maybe they are, since they boost the economy with the heavy demand of, of course, Fast Food Restaurants, as well as Slimming Centres. *Snickers*

Just some random musings as I've said, and it is really inane.

4:06 PM

Most of you people should be relaxing a little with Math and Science left on the list, unlike me, who would be jumping up and down like it were the end of the world. I wonder how History went...

Finally, with a little shout of joy, I'd found Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden, but to my dilated eyes should appear that little white price tag: $22.95. I'd immediately dropped the book like it were a hot brick, and well... Was disappointed. Sadness of the world.

Was looking for 'Get Well' cards as well as 'All the best/Farewell' cards for a certain someone. Hmm... Was just wondering if 203 is going to have a farewell party of some sort, though it's quite warped to have a farewell party in the name of yourselves. If you do in any case have one, everyone bring a water bottle, fill it to the brim, and empty it on Jiamin! At least she had accomplices to hold me down the last time... *Narrows eyes* An unsettled score still!

Being totally inane, I shall go off before I go mad.

I'm feeling slightly better today, and yes, I am jumping up and down in jubilation, and I am on cloud 007. Ignore me, for I am insane at the moment.

Soaking up in U2 songs at the moment. All the best for History tomorrow... Do I have to say a prayer for you people? *Oh God... Please let me fall sick tomorrow, be it flu, cough or diarrhoea... Or may you burn the test papers away as Hell money for all nerds in hell... Amen.* Inane!

Dental appointment tomorrow, and I am seriously not looking forward to it. Hopefully the dentist goes easy on me... Perhaps it's vice versa. Haha!

Was talking to Jiaying on MSN, and I'm feeling quite nostalgic at the moment. Miss those LA lessons... And the pleasant surprises of doing reasonably well for History when I'd thought I'd fail. Also, has anyone seen my NSW Science/Computer Science certificates, or have they been annihilated? Jiaying also told me that my art pieces have finally met their destiny and ended up in the bin... Well done people! I would have done that too, but unfortunately, Mrs Teo would have put my head on the chopping board.

I don't want to go for the dental appointment! *Wails in a childish and puerile way* Obviously I sound like a young kid not wanting to go to school, but who cares...

Shall go off now, and meet my demise during the dental checkup. *Boohoo!*

8:15 PM

Tuesday, October 04, 2005

Been really tired today. Watched 'Angela's Ashes' till 12.15 AM last night, and couldn't sleep after it. Thinking about how society looks down and mocks the weak, and got quite depressed.

I finally get why stupid people are called 'bird-brained'. When I put my cactus out to get some sunlight today, this bird came and bit a part of the needles out. I was stunned, and well, only chased that silly black and white demon away from my plant after a few moments. Hmmph!

Borrowed 'The Last Emperor' and 'Passion of the Christ' today. The former was due to mom's recommendation. Both are M 15 films (shh!). Wanted to borrow all 3 parts of 'The Godfather', but the first part was out, and well, there's no point watching something if you don't know how it starts.

Replies to tags:

Faus: Hmmph! To think that you said you'll pray for me. *pouts in a childish and puerile way*
Jiamin: Haha... I am still quite down, as you can see... Thanks for asking anyway!
Yanne: (I don't get what that means... Sorry!) See you online!
Irene: Yes, it is open-air. My mom would probably think I went insane if in any case I do talk to it... And I've removed your repeat posts.
Jiaying: It sure does sound constipated, and that's my point... No one would ever want a book like that. And I can't exactly be bothered playing neopets... Think it's quite silly and childish, without any purpose (same with life). What's the purpose of having so much money/neopoints? The game does help me reflect on life though...
Claire: Where, Claire? (Rhymes too *sticks tongue out*)
Jiaying: Don't want my brother to skip happily here, then tell my parents about it...
Faus: Haha... Sure!

Anyway, was saying that Neopets helps me reflect on life. Perhaps some of you would quote Sigmund Freud and say that sometimes, a cigar is just a cigar (a game is just a game for that matter), and that I am just looking too much into things. To tell the truth, I don't want to either, but well... It sure is a mortifying gift (oxymoron).

Neopets just reminds me about what money means, and about competition. This issue about money has appeared tons of times here already, but well... What's the point of being a millionaire if you can only use it for materialistic matters? I guess some of you would argue that buying something you love would make you happy, but it's just a short-term happiness. Like what I'd said some time ago, happiness or self delusion, it's up to a person. But for me, self-actualization is still the top priority, and somehow, money and society just don't hold that 'promising quality', and neither does life, since those two evil objects make up the most of life.

It reminds me about how competition brings forth such hatred and unhappiness in the world. If only everyone could accept the place that they are in, and accept others for who they really are... I guess equality is impossible, since the results would be alike that of communism, but I do not ask for equality. Just understanding would satisfy me. Unfortunately, it is because it is so impossible, the whole idea of it puts me off, and perhaps it's because of all this that I am feeling so depressed and that I've lost my drive.

Obviously I do not want to be plagued by all these thoughts too, but as much as they make me unhappy, I feel the need to fix this jigsaw puzzle up. I've left it alone for too long, and it's mostly messed up, but I really need to do it, or I'll never be happy again. It's really draining, and it's made me lose my drive (maybe even my life in the future), but there's no way out. I've chosen to walk down this road, and I've to finish walking it even if it costs me everything. Reminds me of Robert Frost's poem 'Road not taken'. The world horrifies me, with terrorists, lack of humanity, ethics etc... Somehow, I just feel like crying. Oh well...

Sorry that I've been boring you people out with my dreary posts, but as I've said, I need to piece my thoughts together. I've lost my drive, and I don't expect it to be back soon, so you all can be prepared for more of this kind of posts. Apologies once more, even though I don't have to apologize for what I write. (I am seriously contradicting myself, and still not talking sense.)

Have deleted that post already.

I wish I could have taken the LA test... Well, I was watching 'Saving Private Ryan', so it's quite a good consolation. Except that it's made me even more depressed after crying my eyes out.

Heard that you all had 'Village Life' by Robert Johnson for poetry. Searched the poem up, and I like it! For reasons unknownst to mortals except Faus and myself... Had better not write it here for fear of being sued.

Shall lengthen this when I am back. Mom's dragging my carcass out. Hmmph!

Decided to blog after all, since it's a somewhat cathartic outlet.

Just came back from the 'Sunday Marketplace'. Supermarkets etc are closed here on Sundays, so we've to go there. Bought 'Tuesdays with Morrie' by Mitch Albom for $6, as well as a cactus for $5. Will put the picture up later. Don't ask me why I bought it, because I myself don't know.

Still feeling quite down. I want to take the LA and History EOYs... Damn me for wanting to do the papers of my favourite subjects for all I care. I am past caring about anything.

Noticed that my writing's changed a lot. Still as sarcastic and cynical, but have been using much more bombastic words. And kind of became more tired and 'matured'... Currently looking for that 'something' to reignite my fire.

I am seriously not talking sense, so there's no point blogging. I've probably gone insane for all I care.

Wondering how that lunch gathering went? Well, I sure met my demise...

Imagine me travestied, eyes with veins like a highway map popping out of their sockets, in some pink frock that has been shredded by the ring of tiger cubs surrounding me. Hmm... I am sure that image would make do?

Well, been feeling rather down. Still pondering over those issues, but on the up side, I am going to get some books, and the h*ll with my mom's disapproval. Just feeling a little upset.

Nothing much, still worried about society and it's horrible ways of confining everyone... Just take it that I am being cantankerous.

Perhaps shall take a break off blogging tomorrow to try to rejuvenate myself. Feeling rather tired and depressed.
