Frightened, jittery and irritated. No, it's not stage fright, but 'lunch gathering fright', if there's such a thing. It rakes up that memory long archived into one of the many gaps in my cranium, the one in TKAM... Bovines sipping away at their tea cups, sitting on their haunches on a nice, glorious afternoon. And I have to be there too, though I will NOT wear a skirt over my carcass. Channeling your energy into something more productive and beneficial indeed... The sheer irony tickles me into an incessant torrent of laughter so raucous, it could be mistaken as a dinosaur snorting. One thing that I will never succeed in would be social gatherings, and that's exactly what I'll be doing for the whole, sunny (according to the largest logical fallicy called the weather forecast) and bright afternoon. Really, I would rather curl up in my bed and delve into a world of fantasy, be it by writing or reading. Don't talk about studying to me. I've never studied much (except by catching a few fomulae or God-knows-what when I slip a novel in between my textbook) and studying has never been my forte. I'll either end up snoozing the day away with my textbook on the sofa and myself on the floor, or I'll just pretend to study. You could imagine me in comic form, toothpicks in between my drooping eyelids, eyes peeled wide open in mock concentration, with little bubbles of images above my pea brain. You probably can guess why LA and History source-based questions are my favourite exam 'genres'? You see, criteria for that does not include the only word of eternal damnation- studying. I doubt you would spend your day reading and memorizing a whole book of poetry? Nor would you study the moves of Ms Koh every minute just to see where she puts the answer key. Alright, alright... Most of you probably disagree with this from the murderous looks on your faces, as well as the choppers and voodoo dolls in your hands... Really, I am but giving my two-cents about this whole hoo-haa regarding LA and History... Obviously, I may be wrong about this, since I am no walking oracle. But, I do not see the point of worrying about things beyond your reach! Oh well. I give up. Enough of this dreary topic. Mom's promised to get me a dog when we move to our new house, which is next year. Afraid I wouldn't even be able to see it... Ignore the previous line. Well, I've been debating whether to get a cat, or a dog. It's clearly impossible to have both in the same house (sheer testimonial: my brother and I.), so I really have to make a choice. My brother says he'll get a dog if I do in any case get a cat. *Curses and swears* Apologies, but in no way is this defamation. Thing is that a cat does not follow you around, or play with you at any time you want... Vice versa, a dog does, but I just don't like the personality of dogs (fine... Brand me insane. I am even stereotyping animals). Dogs are just playful, and somewhat 'stupid'. They don't have a mind of their own, since they just scrutinize and follow your every move... Whereas, cats are rather arrogant, and calm. I need something calm, since I myself am already so jumpy and impatient. (And the thing that I want a cat is because my brother's planning to keep fish... You get the vibe of it.) As much as I want a cat, my mom wants a dog to guard the house. I wonder if there's such a thing as a 'guard cat'... But ultimately, cats RULE and dogs DROOL. Inane... Oh, and Faus, your SMS to Ng was somewhat... Hilarious. *Dodges Faus' punch* I was laughing my head off when I saw it... Seriously, no offence about this alright? Just take it that I am being silly again... But I found it really eccentric that you were suddenly so 'appreciative' of all our tyrannical teachers (alliteration! I'd better not write anything worse than this or I'll be sued)... So I thought that you'll know whether Ng's staying in the school or not. You see, some people like Karene are telling me that she's staying to torture the Sec 2s, while those in denial like *coughsClairecoughs* say that she's leaving. A vast majority are once more sitting on the fence, and I am one of them too... So if anyone knows anything about this, do englighten me, for I am rather curious... Merely this and nothing more! *Glares threateningly at Claire's smirk* What a long post, but it's probably the last post before my demise at the lunch gathering tomorrow... Everyone, like what dear, kind Faus has promised to do, please pray that my soul will not descend to hell (though I am already sure I'll go to hell, for all the trouble I've brought to teachers, esp Ng... *Sniggers together with Faus*) 9:46 PM
For once, I totally love the article Dr. Andy Ho wrote on blogging. For some reason unapparent to innocent mortals like me, the blogging issue is still buzzing around. (Mr De*ek T*n, are you reading this? Or did you read that article? Actually, this goes for the whole school...) I was shell-shocked when I saw that it was Jonathan Au Yong who wrote that article into ST Forum... He's an RI debater, and I saw him on a few occasions. (RJC U-14 debates I think... And of course, Julia Gabriels) 'It seems like we - students, school administrators and society at large - will have to learn how to draw the line between one person's freedom of expression and another's freedom from offence. Yet, there are already enough checks on any offensive speech students may convey on the Internet. These include civil defamation laws, criminal statutes and suspensions from school.' We really do have to draw a line between real 'defamation' words, and mere pranks... Obviously, different people have different perspectives on the same matter, and I had such a *rare* encounter last year. Most of the time, we mere students, who only wish to have some self-entertainment, wouldn't think twice as to what we write, and would write rubbish like 'so-and-so is such a God-knows-what'. Apparently, teachers view it in a completely different light. In the first place, if that is so, I feel that the teachers should 'enlighten' the poor student who is in the dark that it is not merely a joke to them, instead of making them pen out useless *reflections* when they don't even feel sorry. Most of the time, students wouldn't dare stand up to teachers for fear of being given demerit points. So, maybe it's time the teachers do it instead? 'Let's tolerate a diversity of views, and not close the minds of kids who inhabit the world within our school gates. Let's have some semblance of balance here. Go easier on the kids.' Ignore the trash that I'm churning out, but I am just elated that there's such an article in the papers. For those ignorants out there, it's in the Life! section of the papers. F.Y.I: Those parts highlighted in yellow are quoted from the article. And for those who wish to read the article but unfortunately don't have ST, I could give it to you... Though I am not sure if it will infringe on copyright laws... Hmm, could anyone enlighten me on that? 12:48 PM
A new day, a new start, a new post. Like I am that optimistic. Anyway, seems like my tagboard's been collecting cobwebs again. Claire: Yes, I do play... Seldom, but yes. I can't remember my pets' names (can't be bothered, just gave them silly names I thought up on the spot and a string of numbers) but my user is jlsn2002. Faus: I love the pictures too, but I hate the bees... *Swats around* Jiaying: Thanks! Yanne: Obviously hols aren't any more fun than EOYs... I even think EOYs would be better. Well, we all dreamt once upon a time... That's the sad fact. Jiaying: Hmm... I never knew that my blog was so popular... I doubt anyone would want to buy 'Laments of a lady in the ladies(washroom)' Faus: You should be honoured! -Kidding- Finished watching Big Fish, and well, I cried. Snigger all you like. Watching 'Saving Private Ryan' after I've finished 'One flew over a cuckoo's nest', which is most probably today. Tomorrow, I'll have to watch SHREK 2 -AGAIN- with my mom's friends' kids. In other words, I'll have to be a babysitter, and get poked and drooled all over. Picture me with this halo of twitting birds above my carcass... I'm sure I'll be the one wailing and tugging at my hair at the end of the day... And I'm quite certain that I'd murder at least one of them... If there's one thing I can't stand, it would be 'childish kids', who incessantly cry and unceasingly touch your belongings. Amazingly, some kids don't do that, and I really appreciate it... Since Claire asked about my pets, -no, not those hateful bees gleefully flying around-, I shall tell you all about my first neopet. I am buying all sorts of books to make it a genius (since it was such a bloody moron before this), and well, it's SUPPOSED to be one now... Except that there's no bloody reason for me to believe that it has become smarter. Inane! I want to take the LA EOY! And History one! (I'd be willing to take any except Art, Chinese, Maths and Science...) My keyboard's been facing a daily hurricane of tears from me... No, not tears of depression -Now, put down that phone call to the mental hospital... And slide the phone over...- but tears of BOREDOM. *Yawns* Problem is that the bloody school library, or the whole school compound for that matter, is LOCKED SHUT, so it's impossible for me to get new books. (I really think I've been transported back to the 60's... Consolation is that there's Bob Dylan.) Enough insanity (and thriving stupidity), I shall go off to play checkers. And will write my daily scores here. Checkers: (the one on your computer) Won: 3/3 Lost: 0/3 Drew: 0/3 Hmmph. 11:29 AM Thursday, September 29, 2005 4th time blogging... I am really setting a record here. Heard from Jiaying that I'd achieved an F9 in Chinese... And my honourable name was highlighted in yellow. Why not orange? (Kidding...) *Wails* No more IP for me! Yeah right... Lao Shi must be insane to think that in such dire times, someone would actually not submit any piece of work, or even do a single test. F9s, here I come... I even know my marks now. LA: - Chinese: F9 Maths: F9 Science: F9 Geog: F9 History: F9 Art: Ungraded Music: Ungraded Overall: 0/600 Percentage: 0/100% Attendance: 0/92 (approximately) Conduct: Unbelievable Comments: Jolene was incredibly quiet, and she should try to be more present in class. She should try to contribute in class discussions, and I would recommend for her to improve in her academic aspects. How... -hmm- Unpredictable. Reason for that dash next to LA is because Ng's probably the only one who's aware of my sudden vaporization/annihilation, in that bureaucratic bullsh*t *Winks at Yanne*. Oh well. Looks like I am not the only one who thinks that way... That's all I guess. 8:47 PM
I guess everyone's thinking a high fever had burnt my brain dry or something, but it's not the reason why I've been beside myself. All bets are off, it is because of those afore mentioned issues, as well as some comets that have been flying into my world these few days. *Winces* My left shoulder feels dislocated... Been this way for about 2 weeks, after I'd been elbowed during PE. And I've been feeling nauseous after every meal, be it breakfast, lunch, dinner, the last supper... Kidding! You get the vibe anyway... Gastrics, gastrics and gastrics. Maybe constipation too. Enough inane talk, I shall post some photos I've been taking to calm my nerves. *Explodes into a fresh torrent of shrieking like a banshee* ![]() My love is like a red, red hibiscus... ![]() No, I did not rip this off some internet site. I did take it, believe it or not... *Glares as someone comments on Jayson Blair and myself...* ![]() Lavenders. I was too busy avoiding those hateful bees to fall asleep... Lavenders are supposed to make you sleep. Wonder why those bees didn't snore off to dreamland... ![]() Some flower (God-knows-what the name is), and no, these pictures were not taken in the botanic gardens, but my garden... ![]() A rose by any name is just as thorny. I got pricked trying to get the flowers into position. Hmmph! ![]() These are my neighbour's plants, and well, I sneaked to their garden to take this picture. Shoosh! ![]() The (put the name of the bird in) sits on the old (God-knows-what) tree... The bird just had to fly off after I'd taken this picture. ![]() What a white sight... 6:52 PM
Here's a haiku I wrote, inspired by the storm this morning. ![]() *Wails* I want Vikram Seth's 'Two Lives', which has just come out! It's so uncanny... Last week, Life! interviewed Amitav Ghosh (Article name: Oh my Ghosh) and today, it's Vikram Seth. Both are good writers, and somewhat similar... I loved Amitav Ghosh's 'The Glass Palace' though it was really long... About as thick as 'Gone with the Wind', but somehow I can summon enough patience to finish those books without throwing them out of the window (unlike the fate of thick textbooks that come to me). Contemplating on whether to buy 'Two Lives' or 'The Zahir', of which the latter is by Paulo Coelho. Yes, the author of The Alchemist. Wonder if buying the book is my destiny... Going off to finish watching Big Fish. 12:23 PM
Yes, 'n' how many hours must my mom nag, before she shuts up? Yes, 'n' how much money must one make before one is satisfied? The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind (or fart...)... Feeling rather irritated, and upset. I still don't understand why people just won't be satisfied with what they have... My mom's starting a new tirade on denouncing my dad. Really, I could say the whole story out now by heart, since she's been on this topic for as long as I've lived. Reason why she's started this whole new torrent of nagging (yes, at my invisible dad) is due to a friend moving over, and being in a better condition than we are, having more MONEY and so on and so forth... Shivers just go down my spine (as much as you all think I am spineless, I do have one) everytime I hear or see my parents. I don't ever want to grow up... You lose part of yourself when you grow up, because only children ever dream. Say that I am being cynical, but I don't bother, since bothering doesn't help at all. Bothering doesn't stop the war, does it? Bothering doesn't change society overnight, does it? Bothering doesn't change the tide of the ocean, and no, all these would never happen, so what's the point of bothering/thinking? I am just losing all my drive, and it probably all revolves around these questions of society. Where is humanity when we need it the most? Where is that promised lighthouse for a ship in the dark? Somehow, I could be optimistic enough to say that society is an iceberg to 'typical teens' like yours truly, but if it were an iceberg, I would gladly dive underwater and seek out the depths of it. Unfortunately, yours truly can swim just as well as an elephant can, and would probably freeze. If you still don't get the message, I am trying to say that I'll die in the attempt of finding out what society really is like. At least not physically, but spiritually, emotionally, mentally... If there are such words. As a result, I just want to face everything with apathy, since there is really no point in doing anything. The molds of society just make me break into cold sweat. All those childhood wishes of growing up vanish in a puff, like in Aladdin (ignore me, I am but an insane nut). My analogies are all warped, so just ignore them, since their sole purpose is self-entertainment. I am just worried that I'll become like my parents, or any of those typical adults, since all of them have gone through the molds of society. The looming prospect of that gigantic humming machine sets me into resistance, but I know that you can never remain strong forever. The only way out would probably be breaking yourself before society breaks you, and that only means death. Death is the only victory you can win over yourself, and as much as this is a 'temporary problem', as many call it, a permanent solution is needed. It is only 'temporary' because after going through that machine, it will never appear again. Another reason of resistance is the fact that I still want my freedom to choose before I become what society wants me to be instead. You see, human beings have been reduced to such impotence that one cannot even choose. OB markers, laws, rules, religion, social stigma etc... I cannot accept the exchange of freedom for that, and I don't think I ever will. The sheer bleakness of the future just startles me into resistance... I suppose if my parents ever chance upon this blog, it would spell my death, since it's against the sedation act. Like in 1984, War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery and Ignorance is Strength. As long as we all have a common enemy (money), we would be united. With yours truly as the perfect epitome, Freedom is Slavery, as you would have to make your own choices, and as a result imprison yourself. Ignorance is Strength. How many of those people out there in the society ever think of these questions I am posing? Ignorance, the greatest but most mortifying gift... Humans, reduced to such impotence... Singaporeans, in an 'attempt' to go against the 'higher organization', do so with their parking coupons. Instead of tearing the time at that moment, they tear the time of about 5 to 10 minutes later, and the truimph of beating the 'higher organization' is evident on their faces. Even children know this trick. I am the best testimonial here, since I tear the time on those coupons for my parents everytime it is needed. Humans, left in such a sad state... 11:09 AM Wednesday, September 28, 2005 Haven't been too free these few days, with my mom arranging some lunch gathering for her friends on Saturday. You know, those hateful lunches with all the 'auntie' and 'uncle' calling. Despite my mom's nagging, I just go 'hello' to them. Hmmph! What more, they always walk through the door, see you, size you up, and go 'Oh! You've grown so tall since the last time I'd seen you!' when obviously, it was just a week ago that they'd said that. And the utmost tragedy of this whole episode would be all the patting of heads and pinching of cheeks. I am shuddering at the sheer thought of it. So, my mom just had to drag me out shopping for groceries when I'd finally got the DVDs I'd rented yesterday going. Now, I just can't get them to work. *Glares at imaginary mom, since she's already gone out. AGAIN.* And it seems to me that my computer has officially gone nuts. I give it a monkey, and it gives me nuts. I've been sending out blank emails, getting tons of spam (including a 'Harry Potter' online newsletter I'd never ever signed up for), and my Daily Dilbert is not coming through! Urrgh. The 'bang-ups' sure happen all at once. You know, this is almost classic enough to go down as a Shakespearen tradgedy, only that it is set in the modern times. *Once upon a lunch gathering's nightmare* And the whole bloody irony of it is that I am listening to the song 'Beautiful Day' by U2. I am feeling really cynical now (do I even need to say this?). Wow. 3:09 PM Tuesday, September 27, 2005 Hmm... Been wondering what I am going to write? The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind. (Ignore me, for I am mad over REM and a little of Bob Dog -kidding- Dylan.) EOYs round the corner for you people eh? I am finally released from the evil clutches of them... Really, I can finally not fail a thing even by not studying. Gazing wistfully into the past, I remember how in IJ, we used to have to say a prayer before our tests, and what I'd pray for would be to beat my brother. Says a lot, doesn't it? Well, later on, I just prayed that my teacher would stop breathing down my neck... And I still did that in you-know-where, especially during LA tests. Hmmph... I bet Claire must be praying the opposite of what I pray for. Besides tests, what concerns a primary school kid most in September? Yes, Teachers' Day... When I was young and -well- somewhat innocent, my mom would pack me off to school on that fateful day with those flowers and perhaps a red pen or two, as well as a little card written in my scrawny and childish handwriting. Wow, adrenaline would pump in me when I stumbled forward, blushed and gave my teacher those gifts. That carried on till about Primary 3, when I had this terribly tyrannical Form Teacher, and those flowers just wilted in my hands, the ink in the red pens dried up, the card crumpled in my small and stubby palms... I think I chucked the card away, but for the fear of my mom throwing me off the building, ultimately made the choice to dump the flowers and red pens on that teacher's table. Upper primary, where the more interesting bits come in... My mom allowed me to get the gifts myself, and of course, being this generous me, I didn't give my teachers anything... With the exception of my Primary 6 Chinese teacher. I gave her a wind chime, because it was the last year she was teaching in Singapore, and she was a fabulous teacher... Made me realise Mandarin was something more than bullshit. Believe it or not, I never got a teachers' day present for anyone after Primary 6... Yes, gape all you want. My heart kind of wilted after Primary 3, along with those flowers. The only thing I nearly chucked into Ng's pigeon hole was a broken shuttle cork I'd found in the quadrangle... Xr stopped me, warning me that I would become like the shuttle cork if Ng ever found out. Ha... Reminiscing is such sweet sorrow indeed... Somehow, I wish I'd have EOYs too, but I know it's impossible. Life's like a game of CHECKERS (xr, checkers is still BETTER than chess, even though chess is quite good...)- once you've moved a pawn, you can't move it back. Indeed, after failing Maths, Science, Chinese and God-knows-what for as long as you've done them, there's a kind of hollow in you if you don't fail them... Seriously, I don't study for my tests anymore, but my teachers probably think I pore over my books till dawn or something... My Math teacher'd openly declared it. I know it's eccentric, but I miss failing my subjects... Passing with flying colours isn't exactly that great after all, because you can never pass with all the colours of the wind (I am going insane, quoting all sorts of songs). Perhaps that's the curse of being an ex-'you-know-where' girl... My brain probably wilted with the first test I'd failed (Science test), but I didn't realise it till now... The hols have really given me tons of time to look at myself, and I've discovered to my amazement that really, there's no more drive in me. I got into this silly IQ society that I'd have died to get in long ago, but now, it's nothing but an 'oh. wow, more spam in my email inbox'. (Those who want the website, here it is. http://www.highiqsociety.org/noflash/nonmembers/iqtests.htm FYI, I took the verbal IQ test, and got 134) Even I gape in wonderment at myself... It sure is rude to gape, but I don't know what else to do besides that, and since I am already such a socially-inept person... You get the vibe of it. *Bitter laugh* I don't ever want to grow up... Seeing my parents scares me out. Everything is money. Money sure makes the world go around. No, correction. The LACK of money makes the world go around. Society's values indeed. In church- People who donate $30 000 are far more 'respected' and in a way 'holy' than a kid like yours truly. It just hit me on Sunday how many of those people sitting in that building ever thought of whether they only believe in God because there is Satan, or about the purpose of their life. My face was rather pale and screwed up in concentration (maybe fright), and my mom'd thought that I was having another faint attack like the one I'd had recently. Money, money, money. Like in that ABBA song, it totally puts me off. 9:58 PM
Since I 'zia bah boa si zoah', meaning 'I have nothing better to do', I shall try my hand at song dedication before anything. Hmm... Sera: Everybody Hurts- REM (I have a feeling I am going to infest this whole thing with REM songs) Sars: Daysleeper- REM (You told me how you always felt so tired, so there!) Xr: You've got a Friend in Me- Toy Story (Ok, I can't think of anything else, but just want you to know that I am always here for you!) Yanne: Wake me up when September Ends- Green Day (As much as I hate Green Day, I know you love them... And remember the telepathy? *winks*) Jiamin: We are the Champions- Queen (I know this is some obscure band, and some obscure song, but -glances at Jiamin readying herself to slap me if I give her some silly song- it is about fighting on till the end, no matter what the odds may be. I think you have always been optimistic despite my pessimism, so thanks! [Am I still getting slapped?]) Faus: Happy Birthday- Jolene Lim? (Kidding... I know Faus would rather die than have some parody of Happy Bird-day sung to her by me. Snorts! But anyway, happy birthday, since your birthday is in the midst of the EOYS, and you probably won't come online!) I cannot think of anymore songs, and shall not before someone throws their piano at me. I am currently reliving my childhood by playing Neopests -kidding- Neopets. But I think it is totally trash, and I am not going to. Yes, I am bloody fickle-minded, but I don't care. So there! *Wails in boredom and slams head against the wall* Somebody help me! Inane. 11:02 AM Monday, September 26, 2005 It's the start of the holidays... And I feel bored. Yes, I am reduced to such a state that I am writing rubbish-parodies on an R.E.M song. Actually, it's only one line, but do I give a damn? Hmm... I wish either Sars or Sera would come online now. I need to talk! Maybe I should just get out of here and read my previous entries instead... Words of boredom. Waiting for 'The Simpsons' to come in approx half an hour... Damn. Today was such a roller coaster ride, and I have one more secret thrown into the pile. Sounds like dirty laundry eh? I am bored to tears! Somebody help me! *right... I am being silly again.* Shall write a new wishlist. Books: 1: Lovely Bones- Alice Sebold 2: I m the King of the Castle- Susan Hill 3: Tao of Pooh- Benjamin Hoff 4: Te of Piglet- Benjamin Hoff 5: The Zahir- Paulo Coelho 6: A Fortune-Teller Told Me- Tiziano Terzani (spelling?) 7: Tuesdays with Morrie- Mitch Albom 8: Memoirs of a Geisha- Arthur Golding 9: 1984- George Orwell 10: One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest- Ken Kesey 11: Solitaire Mystery- Jostein Gaardner (spelling?) 12: Sophie's World- Jostein Gaardner 13: Purpose Driven Life- Rick Warren Movies: 1: Big Fish 2: Holes (the adaptation of Louis Sachar's book [pardon my horrendous spelling]) 3: Saving Private Ryan That's all I guess. Mom's been nagging her arse (and mine) off at me. Damn... 5:33 PM
3 words before I get on with anything. OH MY GOD. Alright. I am still reeling from the impact of some shocking news, so excuse me if I sound rather 'zomebie-like', since I've just awoken on the first day of my holidays, and blam- this comet happily comes crashing into me. Oh damn. My cup noodles have been sitting gleefully in the cup of hot water for about 10 minutes... Hold on. The noodles have all bloated to about an inch thick, but they don't taste that bad after all... Have had bad experiences with 'overseas cup noodles'... *thinks wistfully of those yummy myojo bowl noodles I used to buy in 10s- 5 chicken with abalone, 5 seafood flavour* Arrgh. Ignore me for I m being inane again. That's all for now. Don't wish to eat at the computer for fear of spills. 10:38 AM Sunday, September 25, 2005 I am mentally exhausted from that IQ quiz... Hmm... Got into their society though. Lol... 126 points were needed, and I got 134. *Snorts* Like I am that gifted. Anyway, wonder how Sera is... Haven't seen her online for 5 days in a row, and I am getting somewhat frightened... Oh well. Replies to tags before I forget: Faus: Too bad! *smirks* But remember how envious I was when you all had Sept hols... Claire: Reason being that she's the form teacher. Merely this and nothing more... You are just seeing too much into things because YOU are in denial. Yanne: Thanks! But I'd better write my eulogy if any teacher skips happily across this blog... Jiaying: Hmm... Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps... (Like that song goes) Claire: Look who's in denial here... Hmmph! The kettle calling the pot black! Yanne: HAHA! Too bad!!! Jiamin: I know it's funny, but you've tagged THRICE. Kidding... Probably something wrong with my tagboard or your computer... Sars: Haha... There was another time she humiliated me, and I am not going to mention it... Bring back somewhat bad memories, since I got spanked in class. That's all I guess. All the best to you people for EOYS before I forget... 9:32 PM
Hmm... Karene was just telling me about you people having to do a skit on 'how to get an A1 for LA'. Being really bored and silly, I suggested having something like Law and Order, the victim being you, and murderer being Ng. So, you could come back and haunt her for your A1, and get her to burn LA papers as paper money. *Snorts* How to get an A1 for LA... Reminds me of the time when I asked Eunice during P4T (we were doing ethics) if she would sleep with Mr PT (I still like the feeling of my head on my shoulders) to get an A1 for LA, and Eun said she would. Ng then stared at me and said that she would tell Mr PT about what I said. So, I guess Eun would do the same now? *Snorts* Well Well... I am insane over R.E.M all over again. Bob Dylan isn't too bad either... Same with U2, but R.E.M is still better! Inane. You people are having EOYs, when I am probably going to lounge out on a beach chair suntanning myself... *Dodges punches* Kidding! I am probably just going to borrow some DVDs to watch to pass time... I am not going to do my essay till school starts, and I am not going to give a damn about it. Bloody insult to poetry... Since I am so bored, I shall write about the things I miss about Singapore. 1: School- 203 *aww...*, DEBATES etc... And some other people I don't wish to mention... 2: FOOD! Hawker food... The meepok tah, char kway teow, hokkien mee... (Fine. I'll stop before my keyboard drowns in saliva) 3: COFFEE BEAN AND TEA LEAF!!! I love their ice coffee etc... Don't exactly go for their tea. Ha! 4: The school library. Believe it or not, it's heaven compared to my current school library. The latter is more like a fish market, since people can talk and shout at the top of their voices without anyone giving a damn. 5: BORDERS! Oh God... I am saving up all my pocket money to go on a book spree... Will probably add a list of movies along with the books. 6: Zeena Tan (I really have no idea why her name just flashed in my mind), Xr, Sars, Yanne, Jiasin, Sera, Eun, RAM! (he's gone off to the States *sniffs*), Ng (in A WAY... *snorts*), Faus, Jm, Claire (who's eternally in denial), Timmy *sticks tongue out at Pam* etc etc... (I am practically naming everyone from 203) Just a little dedication to some of those people that I've never been able to do: Zeena Tan: Miss chatting to you about books, discussing some random issues like the world etc... And I haven't scolded you for SMSing me during Mass! Xr: Sorry that I'd left you stranded with the many SIAs... Anyway, thanks for everything! Sars: Hey, let's go out again when I go back to Singapore alright? Yanne: Thanks for always chatting with me when I m down! Miss the clique... Jiasin: Remember how the clique used to chat about some people? No, we were not gossiping but just joking about them... *Yanne, you said that y*y was CUTE* Sera: I admit that I was a little put off by you in the past because you kept punching my arm till it hurt during LA... It was probably my fault, since I refused to answer the questions even though I knew the ans... Eun: Hmm... Enjoyed Maths remedial with you, when we used to sneak down to Popular to get food! *Indulges in reminiscing...* Ram: Even though you probably will never read this, I just want to thank you for making CCA so enjoyable, and giving debates a whole new light! First coaches always have some kind of sentimentality (no such word I think...). Ng: (I must write this!) *Smacks those who are sniggering* Um, I am grateful for all that you've done, and well, I miss insulting you! *Snorts* Faus: Thanks for always listening to my rambles before school, even though they were quite silly... Jm: Hmm... Just wish to say that you've always been there for me when I needed you! Claire: Haha.. Loved (and still love) teasing you about your *darlings*, and you are still in DENIAL! Timmy: OM was really enjoyable with you, as well as the rest of the group... Remember about how we locked you out? *Laughes* Finally I've got through it all. Now laugh for all you people like. Hmmph. 12:15 PM Friday, September 23, 2005 That was really slapstick, but I can hardly think of anything else to write/do at the moment. Replies to tags: Someone: Oh HI! I don't know how you ever landed here, but welcome to Mars... Kidding! If you are Yiling, yes, I AM your 'angel', though I sound devilish on this blog. I am sorry that I did not tell you that I've left the school, but yes, I've told you now. *Snorts!* Eunice: It's so amazing that you actually come to my blog... I am honoured. Kidding... But anyway, Hi! Sars: I am having exam greens... There's no such thing alright? I am just being inane... Because this is a rented house, there is another copy of the key (copy?) at the realty agent's office, thus we went there to get it on Monday morning. Jiamin: I'd seriously rather have exams than useless assignments such as SOAP OPERAS, and doing an essay on a SONG LYRIC. Song lyrics are just for the bloody industry to earn money... It's such a damned insult to real poetry. Jiaying: I don't think I'll wish to say that as it is somewhat humiliating... You all know who that person is too. That being done, allow me to make an announcement. No, I am not getting married nor am I engaged to someone. Just that it's... *drum roll* THE HOLIDAYS! *Shrieks and jumps repeatedly up and down like a maniac.* My elbow and stomach hurt from the soccer yesterday. Some guy kicked the ball right into my elbow when I'd least expected it, and another guy elbowed me in the stomach when I was in possession of the damned ball. Well, the rest of the girls were forming a human wall at the goalpost because they all couldn't do anything but scream with joy and giggle after kicking the ball but 1 inch. And touch the ball with their hands so that the other side gets a free kick. So I was like with the guys because they asked me too... I wanted to just slump around and be part of the great wall of soccer too, but well... We all live in a yellow submarine, yellow submarine, yellow submarine... Ignore me, for I am just delirious with the joy of the holidays. I'd better go off before someone calls the mental hospital. 3:58 PM
(parody of that 20 people quiz) 20 teachers you know. 1. Mrs Ng 2. Zheng Lao Shi 3. Mr Adrian Chan 4. Mr Paul Tan 5. Ms Agnes Lee 6. Mr Derek Tan 7. Mrs Heng 8. Ms Lydia Teo 9. Ms Koh 10. Mrs Vivien Chan 11. Chen LiLi Lao Shi 12. Mdm Toh 13. Mrs Tieh 14. Ms Lily Chua 15. Ms Lye 16. Mrs Tan Poh Yee 17. Mrs Teo 18. Ms Chang 19. Mao Liang Liang Lao Shi 20. Mr Gary Tang How did you meet 13? When she scolded our class. What would you do if you never met 5? Maybe pass my Maths or fail it even more? What do you honestly think of 10? I think that she doesn't even know her ex-GEOG rep's name. Have you ever liked no.3? Yeah right... Liked seems to be somewhat vulgar here. If 1 died tomorrow, what is 1 thing that you would like to do?: How can I answer this as politely as I can... (Laugh at her carcass?) Kidding... Well, if she died, I guess I'll probably be the cause of it. *Snorts* Would 2 and 11 make a good couple? I think the only thing that makes them compatible would be their main language... Do you think 12 is hot? HOT?! I don't know about this, since she may be in a steam bath or something now... Would 1 and 17 make a lovely couple? They already ARE a couple... A lovely yet 'obnoxious' one... (I'll turn into 'lovely bones' soon) Tell me something humiliating about 11. Hmm... More about how she successfully humiliated me in one fateful dance lesson eh? Do you know any of 3's family members? OBVIOUSLY NOT. On a scale of 1-10 how cute is 14? CUTE?! Ugly but adorable? Hmm... About 14? *Cute is seriously the wrong word* What would you do if 4 just professed his/her undying love for you? I think I'll get a cardiac arrest, fly to the moon, arrange for daily space shuttles to leave Changi Airport, die without an eulogy/will, celebrate the end of the world and win the 'world cup' for Singapore. What language does 19 speak? Mandarin, broken English and perhaps peppered with some Singlish. Who is 8 going out with? HOW THE HELL WOULD I KNOW?! Would 18 and 5 make a good couple? See the one about '4 professing his/her undying love'. When was the last time you talked to 5? 26th of May 2005, at approx 2 pm. (Maths lesson) What is 1's favorite band? R.E.M and U2. Don't ask me how I know this. Would you ever date 16? That's if it were the end of the world. Would you ever date 7? NO DAMNED WAY. Is 15 single? As far as I know. What is 19's last name? Mao? What school does 16 go to? She doesn't go to school except to teach... And we all know it, don't we? What school does 1 go to? See above. Where does 9 live? Not exactly sure, but probably somewhere around Bukit Timah... She once mentioned it, but I've forgotten. Would you make out with 13? Yeah right... I'd probably commit murder before anything. Are 5 and 6 best friends? BEST FRIENDS?! I can hardly imagine it... Is 20 older than you? Obviously. I am but a mere student. Is 4 the sexiest bitch alive? What do you reckon? This is so bloody rhetorical... I'd better scoot off to write my eulogy before I get slain and my body parts displayed all over the school... (The rape of N******) *SNORTS* 2:31 PM Wednesday, September 21, 2005 Bloodshot eyes, drooping eyelids, constant yawning. What do those mean? Yes, sleeplessness. I have been burning the midnight oil just to get through trash like DRAMA SPEECH ON SOMEONE YOU APPRECIATE and some silly research. And I am planning to NOT do my LA poetry essay, even though I love poetry so much. Know why? Because we are not using POETRY for a damned POETRY essay. We are using SONG LYRICS, and even though I asked my God-damned teacher if I could use a poem, she said no. (How dumb can this get????) Anyway, there's only one day left of stupidity before there's some carnival, then HOLIDAYS. I can hardly wait... But Thursdays are the highest hurdles of the lot. Why? Firstly, getting back Maths and Science test back. I am bound to fail the Science one, though I already know that I TOPPED, yes, TOPPED Maths. It would have been as possible as space shuttles leaving Changi Airport daily if it were in NY, since I never studied for my damned tests. And I didn't study for this test either, though my teacher obviously thought I did, since he proudly proclaimed it to the whole damned class. They were all gawking at me like I was a square egg or something, and I was like '?!?!?!?!?'. Science test. I did not study again, and I am certain of flunking it, though I seriously don't give a damn. Just finished my drama speech, and it's really CLICHED, since that's what my teacher wants. If she wants that, I'll stuff it down her gullet till she chokes and dies. I felt so God-damn nauseated writing it. Even though I thought it was the most cliched I could get, Sera says that it's SINCERE. I can never write cliched speeches I guess. I am going to sleep. Lay my head down, and snore off on the midnight train to dreamland. Better go before it leaves without me, since the bell's already gone. 10:37 PM Monday, September 19, 2005 Sorry that I could not update yesterday. You see, we, meaning my family and I, locked ourselves out of our home. Yes, you do not need to go to an optician to change your specs. It is correct. We locked ourselves out. And it seemed like the keys were mocking us, since they were just at the damned door. We locked ourselves out before going to some University Expo, which was really interesting, since I only went for the philosophy talk and discussion. I may elaborate more on that. Spending the whole morning and half of the afternoon there, we then came home, hoping that by some miracle, the door would open. Unfortunately, it didn't (of course...), and we were locked out (need I say this???) despite my mom's friend desperately trying to open it with his keys (it's sure possible eh?). So, we went for dinner, and then went to the CASINO. Look carefully. C-A-S-I-N-O. Although my brother and I were underaged, and my mum doesn't gamble. So we just sat at the hotel lobby, and I fell asleep despite feeling somewhat embarrassed. Then my mom woke me up, and I was like groggily trying to make out if it was a nightmare or something. She said that she felt tremors, and if I had been awake, I'd have told her something sarcastic like 'oh.. sugarcane katrina coming?'. So we trudged out wearily, and drove around like headless chickens, till my mom finally gave in to her friend's invitation to spend the night there. The end. Mind you, all of it is true. On to the philosophy discussion. Actually, it was a philosophy cafe, meaning that you can drink your coffee, eat your cake etc at the same time. Except that you can't do your business (you get what I mean). The 'puzzle' was 'Happiness or self-delusion? Is self-delusion worth it if it makes you happy?' Well, I was the youngest there, and I was like 'woah...' because of all the adults. Believe it or not, I was intimidated by the prescence of the many more human beings and some phantoms around. I didn't have the time to comment, since some people hogged the bloody microphone, and the discussion was only an hour. How sad... So, solution? Discuss here, and make you all sleep. Too bad! Some people talked about the 'right of happiness', meaning that sometimes society's barriers do not allow us to find happiness in certain events. For example (this is my example, so it's sure to be warped), a single mom cannot be totally happy with all the social stigma and God-Knows-What. As well as in religion, you can't exactly enjoy philosophy that much. (Irony!) I guess it's true... That's why I am deluding myself that I do not have any true religion. (Snorts). But for me, I think that unless you are at peace with yourself, then you can actually be happy. That means that you can't delude yourself, can you? So to conclude this really, really brief discussion: I think self-delusion is not worth it since it's impossible to make you feel truly happy. The end. Please, if you wish to, you can tag my tagboard as long as you don't flood the whole damned thing. Thanks. 4:54 PM Saturday, September 17, 2005 Here are the pics of Ram and his pink buddies (I ripped them off Michelle's blog of course... Sorry!) ![]() Ram poses with his many newly found pink buddies. ![]() He can't believe that there are so many of them. ![]() Say Ram! ![]() Ram promises to bring them with him, and hug them to bed each night. ![]() Be nicer to your new coach than to me! -says Ram-crates (it's supposed to be Socrates) ![]() Aww... How sweet... Anyway, those comments are fictitious, so Ram is NOT going to bed with them (no, this is not supposed to be DIRTY) alright? *SNORTS* I am not sure about that... HAHA! 7:34 PM
Replies to my adoring *SNORTS!* taggers: Bernice: Interesting... Am I supposed to me honoured? Faus: Hey, Happy early birthday before my absymal memory fails me! Sars: It's Sebold btw... Well, where have copyrights gone?! I mentioned it first!!! *pouts in a childish way* Yeah yeah... I am being childish and puerile again. Yanne: HAHA! Seems like you flooded my tagboard... Correction. You DID flood it... How do I take off the word limit? And yeah, I can't stand that teacher, but I've removed that post in case I get sued for teacher-cism (objection to teachers). There's so much bad news everywhere, it's impossible to turn your head without seeing a piece of bad news. Sueing for racism, drug raids, fuel prices soaring, people being knocked down by trucks, death etc... And dropping chocolate on your pants, which has incidentally just happened to me. There! This substantiates my point eh? Wow... Damn. It's not coming off... Anyway, digression over. Since there's so much bad news, tune in to MY good news, which would probably seem more sarcastic than anything. (F.Y.I, they are FICTITIOUS but for one or two, so don't get your hopes high.) 1: Holidays are coming for me in a WEEK'S TIME! (this is TRUE) 2: The moon has been discovered to have enough fuel for a million years. 3: A cure for cancer has been found. 4: It has been raining gold in Alaska. 5: Solar-powered cars have been invented. 6: All dengue mosquitoes have disappeared off the face of the Earth. 7: The chocolate has finally come off my pants (True). How good life would be yeah? All the adults are buzzing about fuel prices sky-rocketing, I think I would go nuts listening to it all. Damn... It's said that there's only enough fuel left for 20 years, but poor mortals like me probably won't be able to afford it in 10 years time. Right. Not like I care. Yes! Holidays in a week's time... I can hardly wait, though I wish it was the hols already... I am EXHAUSTED. And Ram's left for the States. Bon Voyage Ram! Did I say that the pink pigs were hilarious? Hmm... Allow me to elaborate on that. Apparently the debaters (esp Yanne *sniggers*) decided to give him PINK pigs as a farewell gift. I laughed like a maniac when I saw the pictures on Michelle's blog. Talk about hilarity. That's all I guess. And if those pieces of good news ever happen, I think daily space shuttles will be leaving Changi Airport. 7:04 PM Tuesday, September 13, 2005 Quidam is so damn good! F.Y.I: Quidam means 'nameless passerby' in Latin. Got that from Straits Times. But I thought the part where the girl opens the door, and the headless giant with the umbrella appeared was quite frightening. I nearly screamed in that scene, because of all the zombie-like people and dark and frightening music. Hmm... Maybe the giant used too much pimple-removal cream? The acrobats make those stunts look so damn easy, I am so envious. Btw, I watched Quidam quite long ago... Actually last month. And there are actually Asians in it. There were 4 Asian girls with that 'yoyo-like' thing on the string... *Pardon my absymal memory* They were like 'woah'... I was so worried they'd drop the thing, but I got a few more strands of white hair for nothing. *Snorts* That's just a saying. That's all I guess. 9:31 PM Monday, September 12, 2005 Typical optimistic person: When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. Really optimistic but dumb person: When life gives you lemons, you stuff them into the ground to try growing them. Pessimistic person: When life gives you lemons, you feel sour and bitter. Business man: When life gives you lemons, you sell them. Cynical and sadistic me: When life gives you lemons, you squeeze the juice into someone's eye and throw the skin at that same person. Enough trashy 'lemon' jokes. By the way, notice that when 'lemon' is rearranged, it spells 'melon'? INANE! Law and Order's on television now, though I don't exactly feel like watching it. I LOVE 'THE SIMPSONS'! *Bizarre...* On to the next section. Birthday wishes... YANNE! RACHEL! And... My Science teacher. Talk about coincidences... 3 birthdays in a day. And Yanne and Rachel are both from DEBATES! Don't exactly like my Science teacher, though she treated us to cake today. *Sqwaks: NO BREAD EAT CAKE!* I am insane today... Anyway, digression over. Sorry that I can't give you a present Yanne! Rachel probably won't come to my blog anyway, but well, happy birthday again. As for my Science teacher, she should be glad that I didn't smash cake into her face already. Trust her to test us on chemical reactions on her birthday. (WOW) And I didn't eat any cake, since I had my music lesson, and my teacher dragged it way into recess. Not that I had any appetite anyway, and I wonder if she'd poisoned it... (Imagines Science teacher adding hydrochloric acid in...) That's impossible, though I like the thought of it. I lost my damned water bottle, though I have the faintest idea of where I left it. Oh well... That's all I guess. 9:30 PM Sunday, September 11, 2005 Seems like my tagboard is somewhat... Unreplied and neglected? So I shall shower it with tons of love now, and reply to all taggers (snorts). Faus: I didn't say that you disliked LA! And yeah, see you around on MSN! Jiamin: Haha thanks! Not everyone likes me done that way though... (I sound like pizza *I'd like it to be Hawaiian. NO, I'd like it curry chicken...*) Bernice: The Bernice Ball Bouncing around Blogs. (Talk about quadruple alliteration) Claire (or erialc): I guess to you, my results aren't as nice, but I thought mine were good anyway... I'll post it once I get it back, but right now, it's with my fat english teacher. Yanne: Yeah! Long time no see, I thought you mati! (Kidding... Btw, 'mati' is died in Malay, so no offence! :) ) Lim Peh: I just felt like writing something bizarre and inane, so I did! Snorts... Of course vader isn't female! But there is a possibility that 'it' is bi-sexual... The 4th anniversary of 911... (Joins in a chorus with New Orleans people of 'Shame George Bush!') Kidding... I shouldn't be writing such politically incorrect words on my blog... I m viewing the photos of the Debates farewell for Ram, and trying to stop crying, yet I am laughing in sheer amusement. Especially at Ram hugging his 'newly found pink best friends', which are stuffed toys in the shape of pigs. I m just wondering, why the hell pigs? And PINK ones. Anyway, it's sad that he's leaving this Thursday for Stanford... Sigh. There goes my beloved NYDC, and it's never ever going to be the same again. I am damned upset, since that's one of the few things I'd ever loved in school so much. GO NYDC! That's all before I wet my keyboard with my tears, and get electrocuted. 9:51 PM Saturday, September 10, 2005 Eradication of those quizzes from my blog has already happened. Sorry to all who wanted them on, but I thought they are pretty ludicrous, saying that I am KIND and INTELLIGENT and God-knows-what... Well, insanity reigns. I damn nearly bought the movie 'Big Fish' at A$19.95, but stopped myself only because I'd remembered that I could borrow 3 movies for $5.85 at Video Ezy on Monday, or just simply save my money up and go back to Singapore to get all the things that are on my current wishlist. May put it up later. Why wait till December to get the things I wish for so dearly? Hmm... No. 1: The exchange rate is S$1.30 to A$1.00, so I'd be able to buy more things in Singapore than here (when did I get so intelligent?). No. 2: Books and DVDs etc are more expensive here, since Australia is at the other end of the world. No. 3: Simply put it, lack of freedom of choice. To elaborate on the 3rd point: Mom and bro's nagging about how useless books are after you've read them. Apply that to movies, and you'd get the explanation of point no. 3. That's all I guess. Wishlist (Please, do not mistake this for what I wish to get for Christmas/any day and go all the way to get it for me. I seriously don't deserve that). Books: 1: The lovely bones by Alice Sebold 2: I'm the King of the Castle by Susan Hill 3: The Zahir by Paulo Coelho (I am still thinking about this one...) 4: Sophie's World and/or Solitair Mystery, both by Jostein Gaardner (dependent on how full my pockets would be). 5: One flew over the Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey (once again, dependent on how rich I am) 6: Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger (3 words for this: Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps.) 7: Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell. 8: All the Dilbert books I can lay my hands on- by Scott Adams (not Scott toilet paper). 9: Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden (I may be getting this soon...) All the books done, let me go on to movies. Movies: 1: Big Fish by Tim Burton. 2: Saving Private Ryan by Steven Spielberg (now, I need some help here since it's beyond my age...) 3: Gone with the Wind by Victor Fleming, book by Margaret Mitchell (If I can get it, or to simplify it, if I can even find it... It's quite old, the movie, so I dare say it'd be quite a feat to get it...) That's all for now, and I'll be constantly looking out for more books/movies to add on. Oh yes... I missed a bookshelf for all the books coming my way. 10:08 PM Wednesday, September 07, 2005 School was quite alright... English was interesting! We were supposed to write some poem about 'I am', and there was some format bullsh*t. Well, I decided to be 'creative' *sniggers and smirks* and wrote 2 (I did extra work!) poems on that, though it was totally different from what my teacher expected. One was on Darth Vader being Obi-Wan's wife (dodges PeiRong's punch) and the other was about my english teacher. I inevitably poked fun at her again as usual... I always love to poke fun at teachers, especially LA teachers (for no apparent reason). Well, she rolled my damned paper up and hit my head playfully with it, so if I do die with a concussion in my head, do avenge my miserable soul. It somehow reminded me of Ng... And it was quite depressing, though I was still laughing myself scarlet with my teacher's reaction. The latter apparently decided to publicise the poem about Darth Vader (I was quite salacious... Writing things like 'feeling my slender legs') to those sitting around me, and even those at the other end of the room knew about it. Seems like they've never seen poems like these. Wow... I am honoured. Anyway, digression aside, let me get back to how it reminded me of Ng. Number one: Physical abuse. *Snorts* Perhaps sexual assualt may be more appropriate. Hmm... Number two: publicising my poem(s). She publicised the parody I wrote on 'YGuDuh', and I was mortified and turned scarlet too... I think Sera remembers it vividly. Well, that's all I guess. And I cannot stand balancing equations. Who in the world besides those chemists (and Science teachers) who have no lives would ever want to know that 'acid+metal carbonate gives you salt, h2o and co2'? All we mere mortals want to know is that acids dissolve metal, and our skin. No offence. F.Y.I: My damned english teacher made me do another poem, even though she kept the other 2. Talk about extra homework, I have to do another poem when I'd done 2. And other people only had to do 1. *Curses and swears* 10:19 PM Monday, September 05, 2005 Bleh. I am feeling rather nostalgic at the moment... Parting is indeed sweet sorrow. I miss LA lessons in Singapore! You folks are so damned lucky to be doing poetry, especially 'Dulce et Decorum est', and count your blessings... Not that I am scolding anyone or anything in particular, but I am just plain envious and jealous. It's far better than doing trash like SOAP OPERAS, isn't it? Well, we are starting on poetry next week or so, but I can bet my ass on it that it'll be some trash like 'what is the definition of this word'. Perhaps I am just being cynical, but the answer would only come if you ever see me ass-less. I am just frustrated, and my apologies. I would be damned as to why I ever left the school... And all the interesting lessons have to take flight only after I have taken flight too... Damn alright! Urrgh. LA lessons seem like paradise even if Ng has to pick on me every lesson like she's used to doing so. Somehow, I even miss her picking on me, no matter how weird that sounds. Who ever likes teachers picking on one, with the exception of this insane me? Enough insanity and stupidity before I burst with frustration. 10:05 PM Friday, September 02, 2005 I am exhilarated at the moment. Seraphina, I hereby command you to come online! I want to tell her something, but unfortunately, she's offline. There's Spiderman on tele now, but no one is watching it but perhaps a few phantoms as my brother as just gone for his bath. Haha... Well, since there's so much on the case of Took Leng How, let me take a leaf out of a certain person's blog, and comment on how similar it is to that in TKAM. People all treated it like another shopping trip, with the regular 'aunties' and 'uncles' queueing up for three hours just to get into the courtroom. Look alright. I really am disgusted that people just love to gloat over the downfall of others, and to jeer at them at their weakest point. Has society brought us all up to say 'why are you crying? Your husband is a murderer!' to one who has just lost a loved one? What has education done to one indeed? The cynical side of me says that education has done nothing except give us a roll of certificates of which at the end of the road of life, you'd wish was toilet paper (Timmy, aren't you honoured?) instead. At that point, toilet paper would be even more valuable than those certificates, and well, exams. Education has done nothing but make us cram chemical symbols or memorize chinese letters, then regurgitating everything for an exam and score top grades. But if you do remember me posting a paragraph from 'Catcher in the Rye', it says that an education helps you to match the right thoughts to the the size of your mind. Perhaps it is because of this lack of education that those 'aunties' and 'uncles' yelled to the family of Took those hurtful words. After all, they do not know the what kind of thoughts would fit the size of their mind, and have just blurted out what flashed in their mind at that particular moment. Enough digression, allow me to go back to how similar it is to TKAM. When Tom Robinson's life was on the line, the people of Maycomb could go 'LALALALA... What a wonderful day for a picnic it is' and talk about the drama going on like it was a television show. Indeed, one could argue that it was because the life of Tom Robinson did not matter one bit to anyone but the blacks and the Finches. But, to think that a human could take someone's life as a kind of entertainment, just to past their time, just to satisfy their need for sensation! It sure puts me off... Isn't it the same here? Those 'aunties' and 'uncles' who mostly have no lives crowd the bloody courtroom every single day, and cling on to all the gossip like it was their life. I am not going to deny that I am not judging people here, as I am, and yes, it is one of man's biggest weakness, and I won't bother playing a saint and saying that I do not judge people. It is so ironic that people talk about not judging people, and with the turn of their head, start gossiping about those 'aunties' and 'uncles' and swearing their heads off. Yanne, I am sorry if this offends you, since the person who owns that blog is someone you know, and I do know that person too, but well... I won't bother. And do not wish that I would reveal the person's name, since it'd only be judgement day for Yanne, and no way am I gonna do that. That's all. 8:34 PM Thursday, September 01, 2005 YES! I am getting 'Schindler's list' FINALLY! It's M 15+ I think... *Sniggers* And I may be getting 'the pianist' in October! *Whoops with jubilation* Damn... There's no Teachers' Day holiday here at all. My eyelids were drooping in school the whole day, since I'd forgotten to do my Balancing Equations worksheet for Science till about 10 last night, and took about 1 hour to bring up the memories of balancing equations and sweep the cobwebs off. And, to talk about pop-quizzes. My evil Science teacher (she really has an uncanny resemblance to a witch) stood at the door, and those of us who couldn't say the chemical symbol and valency of a particular substance had to stay outside the door and try again, thus there was this huge beeline like the queues for Singapore Idol... Fortunately, I got there early, and well... Seems like the teacher likes me as she let me go even though I got it wrong, and just made me repeat it. *Snorts* I never knew any Science and/or Maths teacher who ever liked me. Actually, I never knew any teacher who liked me... (Sardonic, socially-inept and cynical me). Health Education was a real successful lullaby. Look alright. We had to do some silly skit about advicing people to quit drinking, and it was bloody idiotic. Good gracious! It was practically singing and dancing, and that's the thing I cannot ever stand. All the rest of the people were shrieking with glee. "ROLEPLAY!" Yeah right... Soccer was a nightmare today. There was this guy on my team, and he was goally... He let in 5 goals. FIVE GOALS. Another guy let in one, and I let in one. And that guy who let in 5 goals, he was sent off with a red card. Good Lord! Oh well... What's done's done. That's all I guess. 7:09 PM
