YES! No brother at home at the moment! The skies are so blue, the flowers so fragrant, the air so fresh... WOOHOO! He's off on a camp! *In a cheering frenzy*

Hmm... Teachers' Day celebrations today, eh? Good on you guys... I was stuck doing my soap opera speech in a stuffy room packed with people, and I was still panting after playing soccer. I DAMN NEARLY SCORED A GOAL, but the goally saved it with her KNEES. She's actually my friend, so well... Eleventh commandment: No swearing about friends.

My soap opera speech was a damned flop, and I don't wish to say anything else. Anyway, happy teachers' day, and goodnight!

I am feeling rather nauseous at the moment after eating so much lasagne. Hmm... Wondering how I did it?

As you all know, I am such a great cook and thus, did the lasagne. Right... What I did was: Go to the supermarket, lift a box of lasagne off the shelf, bring it home, put the oven to 200 degrees, leave it there for 55 mins then take it out and eat it. Wow... Actually, my mom did everything from step 2. I just merely went to the supermarket, whimpered and begged for a box of lasagne, and hey presto! Woah... What a genius I am.

Guns 'n' Roses truly rocks! Yes, both literally and metaphorically... Utterly inane.

Anyway, here's an excerpt from Catcher in the Rye that I found really interesting... I am sorry that it will bore those who've read the book already, but this is for the benefit for those who haven't.

"'Once you get past all the Mr Vinsons (stereotypical teacher/human- metaphor for obstacles society places for one), you're going to start getting closer and closer- that is, if you want to, and if you look for it and wait for it- to the kind of information that will be very, very dear to your heart. Among other things, you'll find that you're not the first person who was ever confused and frightened and even sickened by human behavior. You're by no means alone on that score (haha! he has me! right... btw, this is by me, and not by J.D Salinger), you'll be excited and stimulated to know. Many, many men have been just as troubled morally and spiritually as you are right now. Happily, some of them kept records of their troubles. You'll learn from them- if you want to. Just as someday, if you have something to offer, someone will learn something from you. It's a beautiful reciprocal arrangement. And it isn't education. It's history (Yanne, stop shrieking). It's poetry.' He stopped and took a big drink out of his highball. Then he started again. Boy, he was really hot (I FULLY AGREE). I was glad I didn't try to stop him or anything. 'I'm not trying to tell you,' he said, 'that only educated or scholarly men are able to contribute something valuable to the world. It's not so. But I do say that educated and scholarly men, if they're brilliant and creative to begin with- which, unfortunately, is rarely the case- tend to leave infinitely more valuable records behind them than men do who are merely brilliant and creative. They tend to express themselves more clearly, and they usually have a passion for following their thoughts through to the end. And-most importantly- nine out of ten times they have more humility than the unscholarly thinker.' ....

'Something else an academic education will do for you. If you go along with it any considerable distance, it'll begin to give you an idea what size mind you have. What it'll fit and, maybe, what it won't. After a while, you'll have an idea what kind of thoughts your particular size mind should be wearing. For one thing, it may save you an extraordinary amount of time trying on ideas that don't suit yoou, aren't becoming to you. You'll begin to know your true measurements and dress your mind accordingly."

That, is something I feel I can dedicate to you all, given my short vocabulary in the field of songs. I can tell that many are confused by what subjects to choose, especially when the subjects aren't even needed in the "real world", or even the prospective career that many plan to dive into. I am not specifically pinpointing anyone, and my sincerest apologies if I do sound like I am doing so. And, well, to those who think that education is useless: Even though things like periodic tables may seem unimportant, such trivial matters would are actually compasses showing you the directions your mind is taking, be it in the field of Science, Maths or anything... We are at the forks of the roads of our lives, and we all desperately need directions from anything we can lay our hands on. At this mere age, we are being forced to even select the roads we are going to choose to walk down in the future, and beyond these roads lay unknown prospects. Indeed, many would say that we are too young to choose which road we should continue trekking down, but when else can we decide? Ultimately, we would reach the fork of the road, and since the time has come, we should face it like a man faces war, even though the man knows that war would change his life forever, and he doesn't know if he can even return home safely (pardon me, I am too influenced by Gone with the Wind). But you do get the idea of the analogy, don't you? Of course, we would all feel confused, and including the stress you guys are facing about getting into IP, I would not be appalled at the confusion reigning, nor the paranoia in the atmosphere. Tension is high, and yes, people are cracking down. It's sad to see such things happen, but it's inevitable, and one must face it sooner or later.

Anyway, all the best to all of you, and quoting the fateful line from the national day rally, "Go where your spirit wants to go".

This is to Sars, though I think it's quite late already: Happy birthday to you, You were born in the Zoo. You look like a monkey, and smell like one too.

Nah... Just kidding. But you get the vibe of it, don't you? Yes, I admit I should have posted this earlier, but well... I did wish you Happy Birthday on your actual birthday, so stop looking at me reproachfully sars! Anyway, if you can, please, please get The Lovely Bones and The King of the Castle for me... Though I can only get it from you in about 3 months. *Punches fist into the air* Woohoo! 3 horrific months have crawled by, and I am counting down to December! It's half-time now. *Emits a vibrating snort*.

The school here is... How do I put this nicely... Ludicrous. This is the gentlest word I can rake up from my vast vocabulary, and I am sorry for it. For History, we are supposed to watch a video on Changi Prison (YES, CHANGI. Irony: I am from Singapore) during the WW2, and it's M 15+. We are supposed to get our parents to sign a permission slip for the green light for the teacher to show us the video. Just because it's M 15, and I am only 13. To think that back in the good ol' days in THE SCHOOL, we could leisurely watch M 18 films without giving so much as a damn about what our parents may send to the MOE. And my mom doesn't care either. We watch those shows for VIEWING BY MATURE AUDIENCES on TV every night before sleeping, and I don't get any nightmares or get up screaming in the middle of the night. I don't see what's the huge fuss about viewing such movies. And what more, my mom actually helped me to borrow M 18 movies before, and she's helping me buy something similar to lottery occassionally. Right... What's with M 15 for a rule-breaker like me (and my mom)?

And some stupid asshole in Science class broke my ruler. Mind you, it's no ordinary ruler. I've had it for about 10 years, and never lost it. Think about the sentimental value hidden in it... RIGHT. I am damn bloody pissed... And the worst thing is that he didn't have the courtesy to even apologize. He just stuffed it back into my pencil case, the 2 pieces, shattered forever. A lowdown cad like him will never get anywhere in this world, without elegance and just sheer manners. Yes, I blew up at him. I didn't give a damn about the people staring. He pushes my buttons, I blow. It's not exactly my fault. He provoked me, and I don't care alright.

I need to cool down now.

First, allow me to address the taggers.

To Bao, Claire and Jiamin: Thanks alot for your compliments, though I find myself unworthy of them... After all, I am but a lowly minion... Kidding!

Marissa: If you must say so...

March onwards my comrades! Sorry for the inane remarks/comments, but I am feeling rather 'wonky' at the moment. Not because I've just watched Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka (FYI: The movie only opens NEXT FRIDAY here. WOW... How fast is that?), but just because I have always been insane.

I miss my meepok tah and fish otah in Singapore! Yes, I know this is really bizarre, but well... It's so different here! Back home, you can just slip on your slippers and go to the coffee shop... "Uncle (in an ahsoh voice), char kway teoy (or God-knows-what the spelling is) mai chilli, mai ham... tao gay more". That's actually from the National day rally, for those who didn't watch it. It was the video PM Lee showed us, and it's called "tao gay not enough". It was quite amusing actually...

But, it is actually such things that make us (in)famous, that distinguish us as Singaporeans. And I am proud of being a Singaporean. Apparently, meepok tah and fish otah are just metaphors of what I love Singapore for, what I appreciate in her. As the saying goes, "abscence makes the heart fonder".

Ending this off with a quote from the rally once more: Go where your spirit wants to go. And to those who didn't watch it: You should be quite ashamed of yourselves, since there were many important points in it, and even though I am not there, I still watched it (not telling you how, since it's only reserved for me), and moreover, it concerns you directly. Enough of this.

Science test tomorrow. Imagine that. One full hour of sitting in a stifling room, working out the specific heat and latent capacity of some obscure substance. With my Science teacher screeching "10 more minutes... 5 more minutes... 1 more minute...". Talking about Science, there's this guy who can perfectly imitate my Science teacher's screech, and it's really entertaining.

This is so upsetting. To think that such interesting exams have to come to the school only AFTER I have left it. The sheer thought of it pains me, and my poor heart is in agony like someone stabbed it with a knife and is twisting that blade 360 degrees. To think that I am stuck calculating the "specific heat capacity" of some substance when you lucky people are doing Newton's law.

Somewhere deep down in my stone cold heart, there's this twinge of nostalgia that's hitting at the walls of the chambers. I miss the school, and yes, it's a miracle, since I'd been complaining about it to as many people who would hear it as possible. Perhaps it's because of the present circumstances that such nostalgia exists.

Enough rantings. I want to read 'The lovely bones' by Alice Sebold, but I can't seem to find it! Urrgh!

That's all. And to Debaters, esp Yanne: WELL DONE! THAT'S THE WAY TO GO!

To Marissa, Irene and whoever's in that SIA group that ever comes here: I am sorry that I caused you all to fail, since I wrote most of the article even though you all did the research and content. Yes, I am sorry, and I wouldn't blame you even if you said 'sorry no cure', since I know this takes a huge weightage of the marks, and marks mean almost anything now with IP.

It feels as though the weekend is still coming, though it's just gone by in a wink. Wow. I've been too busy with the damned soap opera, and yes, another day went by with the damned thing again. The day only ended officially at 6pm, excluding homework. On Friday, we were doing it till 6pm too. On Saturday, we did it from 2.30pm to 6pm again. On Sunday, we fortunately didn't have to do it. And today, we had to do it again. And why? Because people refuse to focus, and keep breaking up in sniggers halfway through the scene. I don't think we need to spend 1 full hour on just one scene. And no, I am not exaggerating. They have all the time in the world, but I don't. I have better things to do than just sitting there, going through the lines routine-like, then cracking up halfway and squating there sniggering the afternoon away.

Obviously I sound really cantankerous and evil-witch-like, since I wish to banish all laughter, and sit in my lofty tower looking disdainfully at these people who squawk their lives away (and my life too). Unfortunately, I can't help it, and yes, if you do not like what I post up here, it's not my fault. If you think that it is a problem, it is, and I can't modify your brain as much as I'd like to.

I am re-reading 'Gone with the Wind', as well as re-watching Shrek 2 and A Beautiful Mind. Unfortunately, I couldn't find Saving Private Ryan (or rather I am not allowed to borrow it) since it's M18. I am feeling really contemptuous at the moment, and I beg your pardon, but do not blame me since I've already cordoned of this minefield, and it's not my fault if you come treading over the barrier and stomping your foot on the mines.

One thing I am feeling contemptuous about is that the Chinese here are bloody anglophiles. Why? Well, they do not have a single ounce of empathy in their blood, not to mention 'yin shui si yuan'. It's ironic that I am discussing this, since I am under that category as well, though I am not an anglophile. Unfortunately, these people do not wish to mix around with Asian kids, but choose to suck up to the Caucasians. And yes, it disgusts me so much, I feel nauseated everytime I see it. It's no wonder people want me to act as a pregnant girl.

And the bloody rehearsal has made me so exhausted, my eyelids are feeling like metal, and it's only 10.22, far far away from the usual time I go to bed at. I can never understand girls, even though I am one (really?). One moment they are so nice, the next moment they are completely different, like they suffer from schizophrenia. The excuse for this is PMS, and everyone single female uses it. Perhaps it's true that when your progesterone (or God-knows-what) sky-rockets, so does your temper fly beyond the roof. But, I'd love it if only they did not vent their anger on others, especially during project work. Unfortunately, it's but a trip down the yellow brick road.

That's all I guess.

Thanks to all who tagged, especially the guest of honour *drum roll*... BAO! But one thing to add, and that is that Mrs Ng DOES NOT miss me.

The Revenge of the Soap opera. I've just returned from the soap opera acting we had to do for LANGUAGE ARTS. I just wonder what soppy love storys have to do with Language Arts. Perhaps I am wrong, since it can lead to stereotypes, but unfortunately, as SOPHISTICATED as the people are here, they've only decided to do singing and dancing, and left it at that.

Yanne's decided to stay online after all. :) I am exhausted at the moment, and it's all because of the soap opera. Well, my part was some angsty teen girl who got herself PREGNANT. The role fits me like chocolate ice cream and onion, doesn't it? As in, I do not have the looks nor the 'sophistication' to act as an angsty kid. I probably looked as though I was suffering from a bad case of constipation, but it's really not my fault that people do not know how to play on strengths, no matter what I tell them. Honestly, the other roles aren't much better either. Tell me how a kid who is bullied by her aunt fits me. Number one: My only aunt from my dad's side is a teacher. The aunt from my mom's side is really nice and generous. I could never fit into that role either. As we know, a soap opera has 3 storylines. I've already mentioned 2. The last one is a love triangle, and how do I act like a girl who is in love, or a guy that wears BOXERS that are green with pink monkeys? Yes, so tell me how INTERESTING soap operas are.

Anyway, congrats to 203 for the fantastic performance in the x-country run! If I were still there (I wish I was too...), I'd probably have just been strolling and chatting throughout the whole run. And I can imagine our teachers sitting under the shade, complaining about the bad tan they were getting from the sun, and discussing what brand of whitening cream to use. Or perhaps they would be desperating caking themselves with mosquito repellant, and trying to pull their shoes out of the soil, since most of them wear those slides.

Also, thanks to Yanne for allowing me to pour my sorrows to her. And Sars too. It was a really effective cathartic session, many thanks to you 2. I guess I am feeling much better after letting all out.

Well, that's all!

Please, someone spare me the pain of 2/3 having PCCG tomorrow, or someone hit Mrs Ng on the head, hoping she'd lose her memory of meeting my dad today. She told him some nice bullsh*t about me, of which I was snorting and nearly died of a cardiac arrest when he first told me. Also, she said that I had to go back to the school as people missed me (I nearly hyperventilated). Right...

At the moment, I sincerely wish I could call Faus, but she sleeps pretty early (I think...) and it's already 10.20 pm. Oh well... Faus, if you ever see this, just like remember that your parents have their own choices to make, and don't worry too much alright? As in, my parents nearly did that too, but a miracle happened last minute, and it didn't happen...

Sorry for that inane paragraph, but it's only dedicated to Faus, and no one else. Anyway, Sars sent me her essay on Emily just now for me to edit it. Sorry for further confusing you with my viewpoints, and perhaps even making you feel like redoing your whole essay. Not that I am that egoistic to say that I am that persuasive, but yes, I've actually felt like that before, when I got writer's block and found my poems to be trash compared to the others. That was because I was like churning out poems just for CAP, and perhaps that's why I didn't get in.

I wish there wouldn't be school tomorrow... Somehow, my brain keeps telling me that it's Friday, and it's bloody self-delusion. But it's disappointing, since I'd thought that there wasn't school tomorrow, and suddenly reality slaps me in the face with a hand as hard as a bed slate, and it stings... What more, my brother's probably going to look for the school psychiatrist tomorrow. Oh well... Today, Mrs Ng told my dad that people in the school MISSED me (it's a miracle...), and said that I had to go back to visit you all. I guess I may have to disappoint you all... I'd probably be dead by the end of the year.

Perhaps you all don't know, but I am a totally different person from the argumentative assh*le in school. Here, I am just quiet, socially inept (now, this trait still lives on...), loner, keeps everything to myself... I don't know what to do, but I know who I am, just that people here don't accept that sarcastic and argumentative me. And what does that lead to? Ostracising, which results in my being a loner... And it's the same with teachers. They always think that they are right, and some people here are bloody racist. It's just depressing, and I just can't stand it anymore. I mean, it's all this that's keeping the true me from shining through, although I am still blogging in the same sarcastic way. I really don't know what to do... It's like people here think I am 'oh-so-smart', and I am not, as all of you already know. Worst of all, they make use of me, since I do my work on time, and they don't. So, when they need my worksheets, it's a total change in them. Almost like they're put under the imperius curse or something. And for Science, since they are doing heat capacity (tell me how old this is...), this girl who sits beside me keeps bugging me with questions, and she doesn't get what I am saying at all. Pretty frustrating eh?

Anyway, enough of this. I am sorry if I disappoint you all at the end of the year...

Sorry to Yanne and others who were waiting for the cute little sign that says 'Bohemian Rhapsody! Has just signed in'. My mom imposed this ban on the computer, and the reason is totally absurd and ludicrous.

Now, I fully emphatize with those who have siblings in the same school, because, if you have monsters for siblings like me, they go around snooping on you. For example, I like to read and eat my food during lunch and recess (now, I am sure you all are quite familiar with that...) and I hate sitting in a bunch of noisy, chattering monkeys talking about what their dogs ate for dinner. Shall elaborate on that later, but allow me to get back to the topic before I really start ranting my head off. Obviously, the only solution was sitting alone and reading, as any sane person like me would do (Sane? Right...). For that, my brother told my mom that I was totally anti-social, and advised that I should see a psychiatrist. To my utmost surprise, my insane mother (note the irony of the whole bloody thing) actually agreed with him, and so did my dad. Imagine how much I felt like punching all of them. Stupid assh*les who do not accept others for whom they are. And the queen of irony (aka my mom) said that I did not accept others for who they are, and thus don't want to talk to them. Yeah right...

A part of me said (in my head of course) that it would be better off at the asylum, where there wouldn't be any standards of being 'normal' at all. Seriously, I am bloody tired of being 'normal', and if people can't accept it, just chuck me off in an asylum, where I think I'd be happier off (at least there probably be no mom nagging at me about how anti-social I am). As much as I am socially inept, I do not give a damn about what social stigma it would cost me even if I went to an asylum or even commited suicide (yes, I am desperate to breaking point) but obviously that's because I am socially inept. I am sure my parents would be happier off without this huge brick around their necks, as they've been complaining about what a burden I am. And yes, I am sure I'd be happier, possibly including the high chances of going to hell. At least I get to join Sylvia Plath there.

And no, it's not because I went to see a bloody head-shrinker that I did not come online, but because of my mom's ludicrous reasoning. I still do not give a damn, and if the need arises, I'd just go to the airport and be caught carrying something similar to a bomb or a gun, and threaten to blow everyone up. What an original way of commiting suicide... And yes, do not be surprised if I never come online again after about a week. I mean, if it was for a holiday or exam or any other 'foreseen' circumstance, I'd tell you, but don't be surprised if I never even go online ever again. How optimistic can that get...

Talking about optimistic, we did a personality test in class today (miraculously, it took ONE FULL HOUR, and people hadn't even finished it) and yes, the people here do not even know the meaning of OPTIMISTIC and SUBMISSIVE. Not to mention decisive and tenacious and a whole list of words. And I am talking about 2 people who TOPPED ENGLISH last year. I swear I'd go mad soon, so my parents would do the world a great favour by just chucking me off to an asylum first (I'd be realising my destiny) or just make me so desperate and push me off a cliff (metaphorically and perhaps literally).

Here's the post I'd promised to write, and yes, it's on the conversation my carcass was forced to sit through yesterday. No, my mom didn't put superglue on the sofa, but I'd just thought I'd be a *nice* and *polite* girl like I'd never been before.

So enough digression, allow me to go on. Well, my dad's friend was talking about religion. Now, as we all know, religion is a really vague subject, and he was talking specifically about the Jehovah Witness, as well as Catholics. Incidentally, Michael Jackson is allegedly a Jehovah Witness. For ignorants, it's a cult-like group of people who believe that they are the only ones at peace and serving God, and the only ones who would go to Heaven. He also talked about the 7th-day adventists. And the interesting part of the latter that my dad's friend was discussing about was that they do not work on Sunday. Now, we must say that is 'interesting' isnt it?

Well, he was saying about what would happen if policemen (he was an ex-policeman) or fire fighters did not work on Sundays. Then, with my mom's agreement on the fact that it was ridiculous (I was tempted to rebutt him by saying that people were allowed to make their own choices, and that this is a free country), he continued on to talk about nothing but- THE TEN COMMANDMENTS. Now, what do you all say about the irony? The ten commandments are too, restrictions, similar to the one on not working on Sundays. I was tempted to tell him that it was a bloody warped analogy, but in the end backed out with my mouth tightly shut till I got to my room and started laughing maniacally.

At the moment, I am panting in sheer anger, since my mom's been talking and talking, not allowing me to continue blogging without her close scrutiny. Bloody hell... Sorry to Jiaying that I didn't chat much with you, since my mom would have skinned me alive if she ever saw me switching windows when she was reading online papers. Damn...

6:47 PM

I am bloody exhausted, and my eyelids are drooping. Why? Last night, my father's friend came over at approximately 9.30pm, and went home at about 12 MIDNIGHT because my parents *politely* told him that it was late, and they had to sleep, since my dad's flying back to Singapore today. Well, I shall elaborate on the conversation later, but let me explain why I am so tired. I had actually planned to snooze and have my beauty sleep -just kidding- till about 12 noon due to the lack of rest in the whole week, but guess what? My dad had to go to the garage, which incidentally has to be right outside my window, and slam the doors several times. The suspicious me thought that my parents would be equally tired, and would be in bed, thus thought that some BURGLAR had decided to visit us. Fine, it is a little over-exaggerated, since BURGLARS don't come in broad daylight, but my mind was still fuzzy from the lack of sleep. As I was coming down the double bunk bed (I sleep on the top, and throw my books that I read before sleeping down. Sometimes, if the book is too precious -dilbert books-, I keep them under my pillow), I nearly fell down. Imagine the mood I'd be when I pulled back the flowery-patterned curtains to majestically reveal: my dad slamming the doors of the car. Obviously I'd tried to go back to bed, but it's practically impossible to sleep when you are raging, and the possibility of dying of a cardiac arrest in your sleep would be really high. Thus, here I am, blogging with my eyes looking like the map of Orchard Road.

Chatting with Yanne now. And yes, I've realised a huge change in me.
Number one: I seem to have become more 'bimbotic'. Allow me to elaborate on that. I am looking at clothes (at the moment, it's bohemian -shoosh jiamin!-), and even on the verge of painting my nails and dyeing my hair (what do you all think of brown?). The only reason I thought I'd be doing those initially was to stop my bad habit of biting my nails, and stop people seeing some of my grey hair (gasp! I have grey hair!) respectively. But, I'd never thought about appearances much until (gasp! gasp!) now.
Number 2: I'd just been looking through my blog posts, and comparing it with the 'me' last year, it's really appalling. Firstly, I used to use Singlish (screeches!) in my posts (LAR -or was it leh?)... Secondly, my writing style has morphed into something more 'elegant', instead of disjointed sentences like 'dunno lar... something lor...). But, it's become much, much more sardonic and cynical over the year, and yes, I have been getting more hate mail than ever (just kidding!).

Oh yes. I've forgotten about the conversation last night, that took 2 and a half hours to end, if the Mathematical (Yanne, stop glaring at me like that!) side of my brain is functioning properly. I think this post is long enough though... Shall write another one soon!

Yanne, even I can't believe that we lost to ZHENGHUA, which is some obscure school probably in some obscure land in Singapore. That's all I know about that school I guess, excluding the fact that they are probably dark wizards who know how to cast the imperius curse, and are lousy at debating. But this is so bloody unbelievable, for God's sake. Even though I was shocked and angered last night when Jamie told me (Yanne, I was waiting for you to come online till 9 o'clock) that we actually lost a debate to this obscure school (yes, flame me for having a holier-than-thou attitude), I think you all should have talked to that assh*le and asked her why she awarded the win to the other team. Perhaps she has this misconception of what a debate is? Sad to hear that you all lost -no matter- but NYDC still reigns!

Amandas also told me that Ram's leaving on the 15th of September. Sigh... I don't know what NYDC is going to morph into, and it's incredibly depressing to see the club actually go to waste. Not that I am saying that Sam Yeo is not a good coach, it's still too early to say anything, but Jamie, Amandas, Yanne, Yina and myself having had our workshop runned by her at RJC, we found that our styles completed clashed, and yes, we cannot get along. Even though the school is her alma mater, I guess we are still different, considering our learning styles and personalities. Ram's personality definitely fits ours... (Laughs heartily) Remember the times in NUS? We were laughing at the insider jokes, and Ram was on the verge of whipping out his handphone to ring up the asylum? I'll definitely miss the times like this...

This is getting rather depressing, and so I shall just answer the tags, and wait for Yanne to come online, though it's quite impossible that she'd come online now, given that it's 9.55 in the morning. I wouldn't be online in the afternoon, as I have to go to some classmates' home and stay in the dingy place, filming that dodgy soap opera. What a waste of my short and miserable life.

Sars: I am NOT attracting guys, but it's not my fault if they wish to speak to me, is it?
Yanne: I spent this post replying to your tag... HAHA! And GO NYDC! We are in the finals!!!
Irene: Thanks!
Lim Peh: Just to make you more jealous, that Freddo was half white chocolate and half milk chocolate.
Sars: Yes, I am bored... *d..u..h...*
*At this point, I've realised that I've never replied my tags for a long time... -Starts singing 'long, long ago' really off key-*
Yanne: Thanks! I m more or less well, excluding the cough and sniffing...
Sars: Perhaps, perhaps... I'd love to see the slaughtered karene though...
Karene and Mel, Yanne: I didn't have to take the test! *Yes, I am gloating...*

It's sad that the actor of 'Giant Karl' from Big Fish is dead. By the way, his name is Matthew Mcgrory. Just F.Y.I.

Anyway, another event worthy to be pronounced a miracle happened in school today. It so happened that I'd gone back to school, and my History teacher has set this 'Freddo Friday' for every Friday. It only means that she'd bring several 'Freddo' chocolates to class and give them to people she thought were 'good'. F.Y.I again, Freddo is the chocolate frog. No, not from Harry Potter, but Cadbury. So I was just innocently doing my research on my assignment for the whole lesson, and she said that I was GOOD. I know that Mrs Ng or any other teacher would get a bloody cardiac arrest if they know about this, but yes, I got a Freddo, and the poor chocolate frog probably broke its spine when my teacher threw it and it hit the edge of my desk. Well, it didn't even reach me in one piece, which is such a pity, isn't it?

And it so happened to be this guy's birthday (though I wasn't aware of it till about the end of the lesson), and he came around giving us those sour strips (sweets). I don't really know how to describe it, but it's a long chewy strip covered in sugar and sour powder, and it comes in green (apple), red (strawberry), brown (cola) etc... I guess you get the idea? So he came around as santa claus (no, he didn't dress up though... How very unfortunate...), and gave those out. One each, and mind you, there were about 30 people in the class (yes, exclaim in joy oh you teachers, it's the size of a GEP class)... The strips had 4 colours: Red, blue, green and yellow. Someone knock some sense into my thick skull. I am just narrating the colours of the sweet, and if someone doesn't knock my brain into position, I'd go on forever about texture, gradient (Mrs Teo's gonna be ever so proud), taste, artistic appeal... And so the list goes on. Yes, and he sat next to me after that, claiming that the 2 people next to him were irritating him too much. Right... Actually, there's supposed to be another guy sitting next to me... I don't understand this, but guys just come up and sit next to me during lessons... Amazing, isn't it? I doubt I have such CHARM and CHARISMA... Right.

Anyway, I've to go.

Since I have nothing to blog about unless you want me to talk about how a person coughs and coughs and coughs (have I said cough yet?), or sniffles and sniffles and sniffles away (I am sure you get the idea), I will not do anything except put a poem and haiku I wrote last night up. Enjoy.

The Rose Petal

Pink, soft, tender,
The rose petal
Cupped in my tiny hands.

Fallen from a half-withered rose
The laments of it alikened
To that of a ghost's.

Half a butterfly's wing
Rests on that hand of mine
Though dead, still beautiful.

Fragrance lingering
In the air, accusing,
Pointing a finger at the guilty.

Veins branching out
From the white of the rose petal,
The colours meld to form a gradient.

Sides curled towards the
Heart of the pink sheet
Closing up, keeping away from the world.

Fallen, trampled on and
Once alive, now
Floating by with the breeze.

That's the poem, and this is the haiku. Notice that both are similar as they are about nature. Take it that I am mad, for no one ever expected me to appreciate nature.

That's all folks. And sorry if the words of the haiku are rather hard to be seen as my sense of colour combination is really.... (fill in the blank for yourself. Worth 20 marks).

It's too bad that you people had to have your physics test, because I don't need to! Yes, I am gloating...

While most of you were slogging your guts out, I was just sitting in front of the computer (yes, like the usual 'couch potato' me) watching 'A Beautiful Mind' again. Wow. And I am elated (and gay *snorts) as I've finally acquired 'One flew over the cuckoo's nest'! As in the movie...

My parents have been out all morning, and for some reason, I've been feeling nauseated... No, I am not pregnant, and please kindly do not curse me. As much as I know that I look as fat as a pregnant woman, do not insult me. Right... Inane rantings.

Well, I shall go off before my parents slaughter me when they come home.

2nd time posting, and I don't care. I am not going to school again tomorrow! Mom suspects it may be pneumonia, but I am not bothering. The longer I stay sick, the more days I can skip school, the further my happiness will be from its sad destiny. Right.

Thanks to all who tagged, and Bernice, it's only a temporary house, I am moving to a completely BRAND NEW one next year. Can't wait! To peirong: Yes, they do have that dumb system here. I don't think it's useful though... Like they have 'levels' instead of 'marks', eg: 4D (no, this is NOT 4 digits, but level 4, developing). That's considered high for people my age, but the highest you can go (up to JC 2) is Level 6, consolidating. There's beginning, developing and consolidating. It's rather complicated, so I shan't waste my time. I am achieving a consistant level 4 even though I am new, and well, that's supposed to be GOOD, though I hope to get at least a level 5 or 6 by the end of the year. I must squash the fleas and minions here! Ignore my inane rantings...

Sars, it's interesting, since it's sheer testimonial to how very perverse I am indeed.

Yes, to a brand new day without school tomorrow! March onwards, my comrades! *Please ignore that again...* And to those who manage to see this on time: All the best to your physics tests tomorrow! I am GLOATING...

9:35 PM

A new record in my own book of Guiness World Records has been set! This is the 2nd day running that I've skipped school! Yeah baby! (Right.)

I guess I am really sick, or my mom wouldn't even allow me to skip a minute of school. Great.

Anyway, Yanne just went offline. How sad... I was telling her that I thought Frank Sinatra's voice was sexy, and I think she thought I was so mad, she went offline. Obviously, my fever made my pea-brain 'chao ta', which is 'burnt' in Hokkien. *You give me fever, when you kiss me, Fever when you hold me tight, Fever in the morning, Fever all through the night* Ignore my inane rantings.

I took some pictures yesterday while trying out my new digital camera (Sony -forgot which model-), and so here they are to entertain you. Once more, happy bird-day (*sniggers*) my dad, and Singapore!

The almost full picture of the house we rented. This cut picture was not due to poor photography, but because of the dangers the photographer (aka me) would have faced if I'd taken a step back. (I'd have been waiting to be run down by cars)

No, this is not a bird cage but a letter box.

It's a... Snake. No, it's a... vacuum hose. No, it's a... garden hose!

I was not taking a picture of the beautiful amber red brick tiles of the house, but of the bird on the telephone cables. It's may be too small to be seen, and my apologies, but I do not have wings, and neither does my camera.

My love is like a late, late rose.

Since it's national day, let me dedicate a song. This is home, smelly, Where I know I must be...

Arrgh! A teddy bear breaking the law! (We have to wear helmets to cycle here).

Say cheese (balls)!

No, this is nothing but a palm tree, and I am not airing my dirty linens in public. (Mind you, those are not my clothes, but my mom's and my brother's undergarments. If the school wishes to conduct OBE (obscene bra eradication [To Peirong: I interpreted it this way]) on my brother, I'd be more than happy.)

Well, that's all. Hope that was entertaining enough.

A miracle worthy of going down in history (Yanne, stop shrieking!) happened in school today. Pray allow me to explain it...

I found the English test really interesting. No, I am not being sarcastic. I really thought it was very, very, very, very, very (have I said 'very'?) intellectually stimulating. The first part was writing a persuading argument on 'our lives are too controlled'. Obviously, with that debater's spirit in me, I'd decided to write it in debate style, though I did not have time, and only did up to 2nd opposition speaker when my English teacher bellowed in my ear with her bovine noise for me to put my pen down. I was once again singled out because I had my music lesson right before this (incidentally, that fateful lesson was Maths. I was laughing all the way to the music room) and was late by about 20 minutes. I think my English teacher short-changed me of my time... Damn!

The next section was like the NSW English quiz; they give you passages, you answer the questions. I was reading my book as I'd finished it earlier (15 minutes earlier) than the rest of the people, and they were staring at me like I was a saint, being able to have done that impossible feat.

Final section was watching some videos, but I had this throbbing headache and was too distracted by it. And through the whole test, I had a really bad runny nose. Bleh.

Anyway, I am sick and shall go rest.

3:57 PM

Sunday, August 07, 2005

I was browsing through Sumiko Tan's articles, and felt rather nauseated due to the fact that I am sick and tired (a synonym of lethargic). I am suffering from a bad sore throat that's swelled to the size of a *certain teacher's* large a*s, and a cold. Incidentally, that teacher was the one who was told off on Friday for wearing the wrong colored bra. Anyway, enough digression, let me go back to Sumiko Tan's articles.

Perhaps Xin Rong is right that ST pays it's journalists to be bimbotic, for even the normally rather 'philosphical' Chua Mui Hoong recently wrote about how fat she is. For your info, I think she looks like Mrs Ng, from the vivid descriptions she provided my thirsting mind. Indeed, some people may think that it's nice of Sumiko Tan to write about topics such as Blogging being evil or that men are evil creatures, but I do not think that it's interesting. But ironically, I actually yearned to read her articles when I was in Primary 2 or something like that. Just take it that I was young, innocent (really?!) and dumb (and I still am). Add insane and inane in. I really deserve 2 tight slaps for ever liking her articles. But maybe it was because her articles were not like this in the past, and she metamorphosized into someone else, thus writing totally different articles from the good ol' days. Really, how likely's that? Just as likely as Mrs Ng kissing Jiamin (which, I must say, is really probable).

And here's the most ironic fact. I am seriously considering working in ST in about 10 years time. Yes, celebrate that I'd be writing articles about my facial or even how much my husband paid for our honeymoon (if I even get married). I myself would hate to look at the real me in the mirror then, though it has nothing to do with how fat I would be in the future. Talk about society putting one through its mold.

Well, since Sumiko Tan talked about blogging, I shall talk about it too, though I am not talking about using blogs to report on how evil men are. Nowadays, blogs are only visited (mostly!) if they publish about controversal issues. It's rather sad, isn't it? But my blog is always visited due to how politically-incorrect I am, and how people actually welcome cynicism. Now, I am just assuming that people visit this blog, and do enlighten me if I am wrong. And yes, the school blog is probably visited because something unusual such as teachers blogging is happening. I'd thought that it was just as probable as swearing off dissing the school, but apparently I am wrong, and I apologize. Once again, you can find me off the coasts of Tahiti sun-tanning. Don't you think this brand of sun-tan lotion is good?

And special thanks to Claire for her generous compliment, though I think I am unworthy of it. Apparently, I do not think my poems are good, and interpret it as saying that I do not have high self-esteem (Mrs Ng said this of me last year, and my parents apparently quarrelled with her over it) or that I am speaking the truth. Thanks to Jiamin for dedicating that song to me too, though once again, I think I am unworthy of song dedications. Unfortunately, being the snoopy (snoo-pea)-brained me, I am unable to find any songs worthy of anyone, for I only listen to songs society may deem as 'oldies', such as R.E.M, U2 and Guns 'n' Roses, and unless people want me to dedicate rock songs to them, I wouldn't dream of doing so. Well, I could try to look for more songs, but not at the moment. Do keep in mind my poor health.

The number of people swearing off blogging is escalating so quickly, it's rather alarming. Why do I say so? Number one: It's probably the effect of gamma rays on 2/3 girls-opps- the effect of the stress of getting into IP that's mutating -fine- making people swear off blogging. Number two: With these people bottling up their emotions, really soon, the number of murders would sky-rocket.

I am having a really bad sore throat at the moment (yes, Mrs Ng would be looking as though Christmas arrived early as it's high time I started to shut up), and a slight cold too. Not to mention my eyesight slowly deteriorating. No, that has nothing to do with the cold nor the sore throat nor Mrs Ng looking like Christmas had arrived early, but the fact that my inner coward has not yet been banished to allow me to ask for a pair of spectacles.

And yes, tests are coming in about a day and a half. Wow, shouldn't I be jumping with joy in my kimono? There's no particular reason why I used the word 'kimono', but I just felt like it. Perhaps it's the cosmic power radiated by aliens from outer space, or maybe it's because today's the 60th anniversary of the nuclear bombing in Hiroshima. I trust all of us to choose the first option -yeah right-. That just brings such fond memories of my Society and Environment (something like History) assignment that's due soon (it just slipped my pea brain) as well as the English assignment. I am supposed to do something on Australia in the War for the History assignment, and I've decided to do it on Singapore. But obviously, the Aussies weren't really involved in the War, but I just have to conjure something up to avoid getting an F. As for English, I am supposed to do 2 ads (did I already mention this in my earlier posts? As you can see, this is pure testimony of my pea brain) for a soap opera. Well, I am doing one on Slimp (slim) Biscuits (a parody of 'limp bizcuit'). It's supposed to be mocking at my English teacher in an indirect way, as she's really fat, and this damned imaginary biscuit (I so wish it was real) is supposed to be like a slimming pill, though it's tasty. I know that I am mean, from the disapproving looks and accusing fingers pointing at me, but I just can't help it. I am sure you all know it, so stop giving me those penetrating glares!

At the moment, I haven't thought of the 2nd advertisement, but I guess it would be poking fun at the same teacher too. Any suggestions? I have only 3 days left to do the dumbads (not dumb*ss), and that's only 72 hours including tomorrow, though I'd be going fishing tomorrow (haha! *smirks*). Provided that Prudence is with me tomorrow, I'd have to do it by Wednesday, or I'd just have to fall into the Indian Ocean and cease to exist, not to mention do my English assignment. *Snorts*.

Enough trash to be heaved out to cyberspace. All the best to all who have tests next week, including the great author of this blog... Right.

8:58 PM

This is so bloody unfair. Why? Guns 'n' Roses is going to Singapore next month, and I want to watch them! But it's practically impossible... One consolation is that the main Vocalist(Rose!!!) and one of the Guitarists(Slash) are not coming. Haha!

Anyway, my dad came at 1 AM last night, and my mom dragged me out of bed at about 12.30 AM to go to the airport. Wow. I could hardly keep my eyes open, much less look out for my dad. For no reason, my mom was especially chatty, and I was on the verge of hurling verbal abuses at her, and I wonder if I actually slept-talked.

Well, I wrote a poem yesterday, and here's part of it. I edited this part, as I am using it as a profile picture on some obscure website (or was it as my profile on my fictionpress? Oh well... Don't know, don't care.)

I apologize, but the following paragraph is going to be rather shallow, and may tarnish my name of being a sophisticated writer (yeah right...).

Miraculously, the picture of Harry Potter on the cover of 'Chamber of Secrets' has this uncanny resemblance of Ms Koh (History teacher). I guess it's the hair and the spectacles, though Ms Koh does not have a lightning-shaped scar on her forehead (maybe she does, but I just didn't have time to look out for such trivial matters). And yes, I did warn you that it would be shallow. Get what I mean?

9:14 PM

Sars just told me that Mrs Ng returned the LA essays today, and mine wasn't anywhere in sight. Well, if someone nicked it for me, please tell me ASAP and stop my heart from palpitating in anticipation of what happened to that old fart of my essay. Thanks!

Perhaps Mrs Ng didn't even bother to mark it, due to my incessant humorous, sardonic and cynical remarks that apparently conveyed the message that I wasn't serious about it. Well, I was actually just horsing around, as 1: I did it all for self-entertainment 2: Mrs Ng MADE me do it, humiliating me infront of the class when I was signing autograph books in a mad frenzy 3: to bring some humour to those around me when they saw Mrs Ng's remarks. Apparently, only the first 2 seemed to have gone with the plan... The last one went with the fart (a synonym of wind [break wind]), which is incidentally the same destiny that faced my essay.

I am supposed to do the planning of 2 advertisements for the English Assignment on 'Soap Operas'. No, they are not operas with bars of soap singing in them. Soap operas were once on the radio (not television. Television only came in about 1938 I think...) for old, dumpy housewives who had nothing better to do in the past. Seriously, I think that soap operas are the worst things that have come to television. All day long, you just see complicated relationships created to throw viewers off track, or allow them to flaunt about (as in that they are so smart, they are able to keep track of who loves who). Really sadly and unfortunately, my mom loves them, and I have such a hard time reading my books when she watches them, I just start twirling and ripping my hair out. It's no wonder that people think I suffer from a bad case of balding.

Fortunately, AMC today was much better than SMO, the latter of which I'd finished the paper in a mere impossible feat of half an hour. How did I ever do that? No, I did not become an immortal, nor possess poor Ms Lee to complete it for me, but I just moved my pencil around, closed my eyes, and darkened the circle of which my pencil landed on. Needless to say, I've passed it with stationary colours, and there's nothing more to that, than the fact that I'd get a certificate of participation for something I merely raised a finger (and pencil) to do so. I breezed through it with my eyes closed (literally).

Apparently, I did not want to set another record of the lowest ever score in AMC, after actually winning the prize money last year (yes, xr, you had to broadcast it last yr too...), and put more effort into it, though I had to resort to that same method as I had run out of time at the end. The teacher was staring at me as if I was a flying pig...

Oh well... I shall go soaring into the sky, since I am a flying pig... Wow.

Fine. I shall come clean with what I am so sore about...

Obviously, I am really angered b the fact that I spent 2 hours on doing my work last night, and we had an hour to do it during lesson today. It was a competition, similar to that of New South Wales English/Maths/Science/God-Knows-What, with the shading etc... So I spent all my free time last night rushing through the God-damned thing, and today, after my tedious researching, people began being so nice and sweet to me... 'Jolene *in this awfully sweet and artificial voice* what did you get for Ques 1?' Obviously, they said that it was for double checking, but they are not really successful Occlumens, and even a stinking idiot like me could debug their encoding, and well, get down to what they were up to. Obviously, those assh*les did not bother to do their research, and only ended up going after boys like monkeys after bananas, pick lip gloss off the shelves of pharmacies like the product was going to be as extinct as dodo birds tomorrow.

I was apparently really unhappy about it, and took no effort to hide my displeasure. But of course, those dodo birds did not know that by twirling my hair unceasingly and clearing my throat incessantly, it meant that I was dropping hints like bird droppings on their head, but with skulls as thick as theirs, it's impossible for them to feel it even if I dropped an atomic bomb on their heads. So, the smarter inner self told me to fake the answers, and that's what I did. *Smirks* I wasn't that dumb to pass them the product of my 2 hours of hard labour... They didn't even say thank you, nor pay my sky-rocketing electrical bill, so why in the name of God should I lend them my work? And talking about Catholics, this is incidentally a Catholic school. What ever happened to reaping what you sow? Well, all I can say is that they're going to fail the whole thing, and that's what they deserve, and I shall cease to mention this in school for fear of being cussed at and jinxed. Not to mention the many voodoo dolls and choppers that would be involved. And it's not like I haven't had enough of problems.

I know that I am being so miraculously dumb that I can't even believe myself. Why in the name of the holiest God am I getting so angry at such trivial matters? It is really not worth those few gray strands of hair sprouting off my small pea-brained-head, as well as not worth the steam billowing out of my ears like a steam engine. Nor is it worth the few years off my life, no matter how bleak the future is. I know that this is more comical than angry, but it just seems natural for me to transfer anger into humour. Of course, that's another one of the idiotic ways my wooly brain works. Seriously, just ignore this as though it was just a visit to the asylum. What a warped analogy...

With only 2 more to go, what is going to happen next? No, this is NOT American Idol, but the number of tests that would determine my already bleak future. I've already experienced Japan in the 2nd World War (excluding the attacking). Perhaps many of you have forgotten, but 2 bombs were dropped in Hiroshima and God(and Ms Koh)-knows-Where. I know that is a bloody warped analogy, but I am not bothered to change anything, with more important matters on my mind.

Finally, the much anticipated arrival of my dad is tomorrow (actually, it's Saturday) at 1. No, it's not 1 PM, but 1 AM. I am already so exhausted by now, I don't know how to go through school tomorrow. And the worst thing is that even posters in the Health Education classroom has to mock and gloat over me. It said 'is it Friday yet?'. Really, I was tempted to write a gargantuan 'NO' on it, but I was afraid that my teacher would die of a cardiac arrest, and I'd be sent to the juvenile court for vandalism.

The other poster was actually the movie poster of Louis Sachar's novel 'holes'. I found that mocking as it reminded me of what an ass'hole' I am. Say that I am overly sensitive, but there are positive signs (POSITIVE...) that I am suffering from a nervous breakdown. I don't wish to elaborate on that, or it would certainly leave you all stained by my touch...

Enough rants and raves. And to Jiamin: I should be glad that I have such a prominent writing style... Thank you, thank you...

Right... Give me a minute please.

Done. Mom was asking me to help her check the share prices, and so I've done her the favour. Apparently, there's a doke who's been buying the shares, so it's been going up and down, up and down, and my mom seems rather angered by that guy.

I had my first piano lesson over in Perth today, and got to skip half of my English lesson for it... *smirks and rubs hands in sheer glee* The next time, it's going to be MATHS. I CAN'T WAIT. Maths sure brings joy in times like this...

Well, the teacher said that I had potential (or was it abilities) that would take me far, or some bullsh*t, and I was stifling my laughter while she ranted on and on. Me, having abilities? You must be kidding, since any audience that sees my face and hears a few of my cynical comments would immediately die of a cardiac arrest, and I do not wish to be accused of being a terrorist, nor having really smelly farts to knock people out.

Enough digression, allow me to continue... Obviously, people were amused and delighted by the way I saw things to be (see the school blog for more details. My blog post there is titled 'blogging? Or plain clogging of servers?'. I know that it isn't a really apt title to give to an article, since the sheer cynical vibe of it would put anyone off, but I had just activated the 'snooze' feature on my brain at that point in time. But I apparently drew quite a huge number of audiences, and even went further to inspire a post by one of the leaders of the blog. I must say that I am honoured, though I was named as a typical teen with hormone rages, trying to rebel against authority, but I've concluded that I've officially done my part for this blogging competition, and would continue to write from time to time since it drew so many visitors. I had 4 comments in less than a day, and one post. Oblivious to the number of comments/posts there are at the moment though.

The 4 comments were considerably positive, but the post was clearly disapproving of my cynical tone (There! I've told you! *caresses crystal ball...*), though it was interesting to see what she wrote. It had really big loopholes and logical fallicies, though I am intelligent enough not to point them out (Reason being that I'd only be cussed at even more, although I am sure viewership numbers would go through the roof), I'd decided to carry out some self-entertainment by pointing them out to Yanne (sorry for bothering you with my rantings, Yanne...).

Obviously, I am intelligent enough not to put my comments here, for I am fond of quoting people, and if that certain person had decided to test out her search engine skills, I'd be having to order shiploads of amulets and garlic. Perhaps not garlic... By saying that, I am seriously assuming that she is not a vampire, and that is with the little goodness of my heart (which is covered in bile already anyway). Oh d*mn... We have a Science test tomorrow, and well, it involves volcanoes, which we had been learning about last year, and which I have cleanly forgotten (at the moment, my mind's like the whiteboard of a classroom before the teacher enters), nor bothered to listen about. And I am as bothered about it has I am about cleaning the toilet (what a nice analogy...). I'd failed my Geography last year, and I am absolutely proud to say so (it was the first major exam I'd flunked).

Brand me insane. I am sure I'd be happier off in IMH.
