O.o Am I always cursed to be 3rd in class for hist? Because 2 people tied for 1st, pushing me off to 3rd. Surprisingly enough, I'm sitting on 78% for hist, without the exam (which is worth 10%). So, I'm guaranteed 70% even if I get 0% for the exam :). A comforting thought, don't you think so? Anyway, that was a pleasant surprise. I thought I did crap in hist due to the lack of effort I put in (well, relative to others), but apparently not! So I'm probably sitting comfortably on an A overall :D. Oh, and remember the chem test which I said I was going to fail because of the number of lessons I missed for piano? That was an even greater surprise. I apparently only made a mistake for not saying that the orange colour of the bromine water fades (I only said bromine water decolourises: it was for alkenes), and so lost a grand total of HALF out of 46. Which means 99%. I started panicking in the morning (chem was last period) because I overheard someone from another class mentioning that anyone who passed should be happy. So my teacher was like 'oh, the test was okay...' (at which I cringed), and someone got 45.5/46, at which I presently swore under my breath. And she mentioned the mistake the person made (the bromine thing), and said it was a bit mean of her to take half a mark off for that. At which I present swore under my breath again, remembering I made the same mistake. Then she went 'so well done to Jolene', at which I loudly exclaimed 'WHAT?!' Well, more like CLUCKED. You know how the cartoon chickens go 'POOK?!' I'm guessing I sounded similar to that. I was just discussing with my friend what kind of dismal mark I was gonna get before that, so that was a bit spooky, in a good way. And so I'm in a good mood! I've passed just about all my assessments from last week, except the lit oral, which I don't know what I got yet (and I don't want to know). But the friend with whom I was exchanging snide comments with during the music festival got her blue remarks sheet today from the adjudicator, and it includes a MARK out of 100. Sh*t. I have a shrewd feeling Gaby's got my sheet. So I might just wear my non-existent bulletproof suit before going for my music lesson tomorrow... I am actually looking forward to tomorrow! For a change. I'm getting new pieces for piano! Yay! Though I'm not looking forward to sport :(. Or my lit oral mark :(. Or telling Gaby I'm reconsidering dropping history for music due to the fact that I did quite well in hist despite a lack of study, and that music would mean extra effort due to the many concepts of composing that are currently unknown to me :(. I mean, next year (major exams before uni) is really not the time for risk-taking. I want subs that would basically guarantee me a good mark without much effort. Of which hist has a huge, pink neon sign hanging over. *sigh* Choices, choices. Don't you just hate choices sometimes? I need to get my decision in by Fri for the admin to get everything done by next year. Anyone has any suggestions (besides saying that I'm screwed and point and laugh)? 7:56 PM
