I got my exam results back...

They were actually better than I expected!

Hist: 80% (I was dreading this due to the lack of study I did)
Lit: 81% (dreading this too, but yay!)
Geom and trig: 84% (turns out that besides those I really couldn't do and a few careless mistakes, I didn't lose much)
Physics: 86% (WOOHOO). Prac: 39.5/50
Intro calc: 95% (O.O)
Chem: 97% (OOOOO.OOOOOO). Prac: 40/40

A heap of surprises really. Got geom and trig back first. I tied for 2nd... Missed the top mark by 0.3%! So technically, I did get the top mark... When the teacher chucked my paper on the desk, I made a huge disbelieving sound that made her think that I thought it was a crap mark. And I was like 'no, I never expected it to be that good'. HAHA.

Physics... Let's just say I knew I craped up a heap of questions. So I was really happy with my mark, though my overall was only 82%.

The evil dwarf made us think that all of us failed. He talked about how crap our essays were because they lacked in detail, and went into how we must always put detail to get high marks. Then he told us the average was only 60%. Everyone freaked out, including me, because I know I didn't study. I think I got the top mark. Though the exam was only worth 10%. Wth... If the whole year were based on exams, I would have gotten the hist prize. Gah.

The old hag turned out to be really nice, bring chocolate biscuits for us today. I really should stop calling her 'old hag' because she's a really gd teacher, and she actually is quite nice. Anyway, I actually got 24/25 for my prose essay!!! Top mark for that ques. Screwed drama up. Got 17/25. Poetry was fine, 20/25. Strange. I got the same mark as sem 1.

Intro calc was a pleasant surprise. I remembered walking out of the exam room going 'oh shit. That was hell'. Our teacher, once again, made us all feel like we failed, telling us it was so bad that they had to scale the marks (ie: change the standard deviation because some people did really badly). He was like, oh, but 3 people lost less than 10 marks. Top mark was 145/150. We all knew who it was anyway... Same kid who gets full marks on every single test. Then he said this other kid lost just 8 marks, and then he said that I lost 9 marks. I was like wth?! Anyway, it's nice knowing I came 3rd for the exam :).

We got kicked out of our old chem room by some younger ignorant people. Humph. How rude. Anyway, chem was scaled up as well because people did really badly. They just gave everyone 5 extra marks (percentage wise). So our teacher was like going through what she wrote on the front page and went 'oh, I'll just pick a random exam paper'. Wasn't that random. She picked the one that got 97%. Because I sat in the front row, I was like 'holy crap, some assh*le got 97%?!'. Then I saw the student number and went 'wait... that looks familiar'. Then I saw my name. GAH. I shouldn't curse myself so often.

So I topped chem! And I'm probably getting the chem prize. Not that I care. I told my mum happily that I probably was getting the chem prize, and she went 'only one prize?'. Great. That just shows the amount of frigging support she gives me.

If she doesn't even bother helping me, why start putting me down? My seemingly good grades are never worthy of over-dinner conversations. My brother's ORDINARY DAY of which video store he went to rent his videos is more important than the fact that I basically aced all my exams, coming top 3 in all subjects except lit and physics. But no, it doesn't matter at all.

I wonder why I even give a sh*t. Maybe I just wanna beat my brother and laugh my a*s off when I do? I know that I can't ever win this battle anyway... They'll just say I had more time to 'settle down'. Yeah, and get more depressed from this sh*t?

This is probably the millionth time I'm saying this, but I hate my family. I hate it so much that my head hurts and my eyes swim with tears and I don't know what to do or say. Everything I do is never good enough. My mum didn't say a single word of 'well done' or even anything along those lines to suggest that she even registered the fact that I got such good grades. They don't give a frigging sh*t about me anyway. All they think of me is some kind of walking certificate that certifies that their parenting has been great.

Now I just feel like getting all my exams back and tearing them into pieces because I know no one gives a sh*t about them anyway. But no, I'll just plaster another huge fake smile over my face tomorrow morning and everything will be fine again.
